06 How?

Melissa's POV

"Really, he did that, '' Hermione squealed when I told her what transpired between me and Mason yesterday.

"So, you will have to go for lunch today".

"You think so, you think I should".

"What do you mean?"

"He may not mean it.. You know". I said stuttering.

"Tssk… Am coming to get you during lunch time". She said proceeding to her class.

I checked my timetable to know the subject I am having. Economics! I love the teacher, he is a man. He helps me whenever I have difficulties in any subject.

I happily strode to the class. When I got closer to the door, Mason appeared out of nowhere and entered the class without sparing me a glance. I stood for a minute with different thoughts running through my head. We are taking the same class and he did not spare me a glance while entering.

I pushed aside the thoughts and entered the class. Mr Aaron was already in the class. I greeted him and walked on to take my seat when I saw that mason already sat on my seat. I sighed and looked around for any other seat but it was already filled. Now, all eyes are on me and Mason and I bet what they are all thinking is "would I sit beside Mason''? That's my question too but he sat on my seat first. I gathered up the courage and went to sit beside him. I didn't spare him a glance.

I don't know why but him not sparing me a glance while entering the class hurt me and I felt like taking revenge on him. Mr Aaron started the class and I picked up my book and pen to jot down some things. The aura around him was much cooler than before and I feel relieved around him. I wasn't shaken or scared and am surprised that I am not.

We rounded up the class and got into another class. He sat beside me for the remaining two classes before lunch. When the bell rang for lunch, he stood up and left while I waited for Hermione to come closer because we did the third class together.

"Girlfriend" she squealed and I was expecting that. I looked up to her and saw that she was all smiley. She dragged me up and.. "Let's go for lunch. We will go for sure". She dragged me out of the class.

"Hermione…"

"Don't worry about Natalie. I will deal with her when she comes to me in trouble. An eye for an eye". She said, making me chuckle.

"Okay then release my arm. I can walk".

"Oh sorry" she said and dropped my arm while we walked to the cafeteria.

"I'm nervous". I said to Hermione. Then, she took my hands into hers while we entered. All eyes fell on us when we entered, causing everyone to be silent for 0.05 seconds and they took their eyes off immediately murmuring to themselves. I sighted Natalie at the far end smirking at me. My eyes searched everywhere for Mason but he wasn't there. He told me to come.

We got into the line and ordered our food. We took our seats and sat down. Hermione dug in the food immediately while I stared at mine.

"Won't you eat?" Hermione asked, jotting me out of my thoughts. I picked up my fork and started eating.

Suddenly, the murmur increased. What's happening? I thought and raised my head up to realize Natalie and her minions are coming closer to me. Everyone picked up their phone ready to film what would happen next.

I sighed and looked back at my food. Mason told me he would be here. I felt an anger surge in me. I felt kind of betrayed.

Almost immediately, I felt someone sitting beside me.

"You came". His deep calm voice broke through my thoughts. I looked up and met Mason's eyes, the blue eyes… I glanced at Natalie and realized she stopped on her track, mid way with eyes wide open. She looks so surprised. I am surprised too.

"You came," I said. I mentally facepalmed myself when I realized I just repeated what he said. He put down his food and started digging on his food. I smiled and averted my gaze to my food trying to avoid the stare. I don't know how, but I found my appetite when he came. He didn't disappoint me. I was overjoyed and finished the food in no time. I looked at him and realized he had been staring at me. Oh God… I hope I did nothing wrong.

"I want to attend to something. Mind if I leave?" He said, still staring at me. But can he see my face? He can't, right.

I nodded to him and he smiled while taking his leave.

"Oh girlfriend, I knew it. He likes you already".

"Stop it. You are screaming" I said feeling embarrassed. She quickly covered her mouth. Hmmph.. Drama queen.

"Let's leave here. Come" she said, dragging me out of the cafeteria.

As we were walking in the hallway, I stumbled upon Natalie and her minions. She looked shocked and angry to see me. Hermione dragged me away from there to the class.

Natalie POV

"How is that possible?" I screamed as I walked into the girls locker room.

"Calm down Natalie" Becky said as she trailed behind me.

"Don't you fvking tell me to calm down. How can that low life bitch, that.. bitch, Mason sat with her. How is that possible? He is mine". I said possessively.

"Calm down Natalie". Sasha said.

"I need that girl out of my way. How come Mason took interest in her? Just like that!"

"Obviously, there is more to this. You shouldn't worry yourself about a low life bitch. Mason may be playing her or something.." Sasha said. I stood up and walked out of the locker room going to confront Melissa. There is more to this. No one takes what's mine. I walked along the hallway and heard people murmuring about the incident. That alone made my blood boil. Getting close to the class, I sighted Mason coming towards the class as well.

I waited for him to come closer so I could strike a conversation. I hope it works. God… This guy is so dashing.

"Hi," I said, smiling.

He ignored me and entered the class without sparing me a glance. What? Am I not pretty enough? He doesn't even know what Melissa looks like.

I opened the door to confront him when I saw him sitting beside Melissa. I was enraged and left the class heading back to the locker room. I can't take this. I'm taking no more classes today. No more!

"Mom?" I called, running towards the car leaving my friends behind. Why is she in school?

"Mom, you came to pick me up" I said entering the car.

"Yes. I thought it's been a long time since I came to pick you up from school and I wanted to see your beloved". My eyes dropped when she said that.

"Mason? Mom, he made a joke out of me today".

"What happened?"

"He talked to that nerdy girl while he ignored me. I wanted to hate him but I can't. I love him mom but he doesn't look at me instead he is admiring that nerdy girl. And he doesn't even know how she looks like" I whined.

"Oh" she replied looking out of the window.

"Where is he? I can't sight him anywhere"

"That's him right there"

"Mason?" she said, smirking.I found it strange but I brushed it off

"Will you warn that strange girl? So she could back off. She will be scared when you threaten her".

"Wait, you mean he is attracted to a girl"

"Yes, maybe he pities her"

"Where is she? The strange girl?"

"Oh, you want to help me warn her right?" I said, getting out of the car.

"No Natalie, come back here. Just show me. I want to see her" She said and I looked at her weirdly.

"There she is," I said, pointing to her. She looked at her for some time before averting her gaze to me.

"She is no match for you. You are more pretty and confident than her. You shouldn't waste your time on them, okay" she said, smiling at me.

"Okay mom. Am famished. Let's go"

"Okay" she replied, starting the car.
