KARMA OR REVENGE

Jessica slept in her comfy bed while Jia was burning in anger.

Jia sat in the middle of her room which was long destroyed. After the coupe left he she had rushed to her room and in a fit of anger, she threw all the expensive jewelry, bags, clothes, and artifacts on the floor, banging and crushing them into a million pieces. She sat on her bleeding knees as her eyes were filled with mockery and disdain.

Suddenly the sound of rushed footsteps was heard and the light turned off. Confused Jia tried tracing out the things around her from the faint moonlight in the room. A sweet smell entered her nose and she instantly fell on the floor unconscious.

After what seemed to be a century Jia woke up. She looked around to find everything black. She could trace out the trees and bushes which told that she was surely in a forest. She tried to move her arms and legs but to no success. Her arms were tied with a rope and it was impossible. She tried to yell for help but her mouth was shut using a cloth.

She looked around her eyes filled with tears and fear. Suddenly she spotted something that shined like a diamond. They were two of them and she could hear light panting as the two things moved closer.

Under the moonlight, she identified what it was and fainted from fear in a mere second.

Jia lifted her heavy eyelids and tried looking around. Compared to the darkness last night she was surrounded by bright light. She could feel pain in her legs. She tried to get up but to fail.

Her mind flashed the memories of the previous night. She still clearly remembered those two eyes and that big beast. A shiver went through her spine on even imagining the beast. She shrank in her bed and the door flew open.

She looked at the door in anticipation as a nurse came into her sight. The nurse walked in and seeing that the patient had wakened up she called the doctor than instant. The doctor came in and felt pitiful for the girl who was not even aware of the thing that had happened to her.

After giving her a check-up and informing the nurse to get the medicine he was about to leave when the girl asked from behind, " What's wrong with my legs?" The doctor turned around and his pitiful eyes looked at the innocent face girl and he sighed before saying, "they were eaten by a lion or a tiger and we had to cut them off. Sorry, you would not be able to move anymore."

hearing the doctor's words Jia was petrified as her eyes widened in shock. She clearly remembered being in a forest all tied up and even the eyes that were brighter than the sun but how did she end up in the forest. She raised her head and again asked the doctor about it.

The nurse instantly replied, "You were on the highway near the forest. A kindhearted couple saw you and informed the hospital. On seeing your wounds it was confirmed that you were eaten by a tiger or a lion. Don't you remember how you ended up in the jungle? You were fully drenched in the blood?"

Her words confused Jia even more as she tried hard to search for her memories but could not recall how she reached there. The only thing she remembered were those bright eyes. Suddenly a thought flashed in her mind, 'could it be Jessica…' But it instantly vanished thinking that she was just a meek girl and would not dare do this.

While she was lost in her thoughts the nurse and doctor left and another person came in. A deep voice rang out in the room bringing Jia back to reality as she turned to stare at the man and was stunned.

The man who had just entered was fully dressed in whole black clothes his head had a denim cap that hid half of his face. "Are you Ms. Han?" He asked in his deep voice. Jia was mesmerized and only came to her senses after a few minutes. She replied with a simple 'yes.

The man walked close to Jia without raising his head or looking anywhere else other than the path he walked. He dropped a parcel in front of Jia and without uttering a word left the ward.

Jia looked at the closed door with surprise before she picked the parcel and inspected it. It was a medium-size box beautifully wrapped in a golden sheet with a dragon pattern on it. She tried shacking the box trying to find out what was inside but could not guess. Filled with curiosity she opened the box inside which lay another box.

To her surprise, there were at least ten boxes until she arrived at the last one and what was in it left her eyes popping out.

Jessica had just gotten up from her beauty sleep when her phone rang out. She picked it up to see the new notification which was a simple thumbs-up emoji. Her face lit up with an evil smirk and her eyes were filled with a murderous glare. It appeared as if she was thinking something and at the same time not.

She sat up on the bed and searched for the top news headlines. She was scrolling down when her eyes fell on one of the headlines. It read, 'the young miss of the Han family eaten by a lion.' It was not on the number one as the Han co-corporation had already announced bankruptcy. people were sure that the marriage alliance of Steve and Jessica was to soon be annulled. This was the top headline.

Scrolling through the headlines Jessica saw a lot of fans of her would-be-husband. She smiled and got up from the bed. She stretched her body and thought, 'Let's change the top headlines today…' She stepped into the bathroom and the silent room was filled with the sound of water, bright sun rays, and the smell that was unique to Jessica.

After a while, she stepped out with a towel wrapped around her and she stepped towards her wardrobe. She picked up a light yellow outfit and changed quickly before stepping out.
