THIRTY-EIGHT

I woke up to a knock on my door, I wasn't expecting anyone. Karen had slept over at Ivan's house since Juan was staying there for his visit. They wanted to make the best use of their short time together.

I checked the time on my clock And it was already 9 in the morning. How did I manage to sleep that long? I shuffled to the door, still half asleep and met Ivan standing there with a bouquet of roses.

I love roses but then, who doesn't?

His eyes sparkled as he handed them to me, and I couldn't help but smile. "Good morning, Wendy," he said softly.

"Good morning, Ivan. These are beautiful, thank you," I replied, inhaling the sweet fragrance. "What's the occasion?"

"I was thinking we could spend the day together, like a date…" He tells me, hope glistening in his eyes.

"Like a date or a date?" I asked him, wanting to be sure if whatever this was. We had kissed a few weeks ago and I can't deny that there has been a shift in our relationship.
