Faye Leona's heart raced as she stepped into the living room, her backpack slung over one shoulder, emblazoned with the emblem of a golden lion—a symbol of her zodiac sign, Leo. Another Friday conquered, another week dominated by her fierce determination and indomitable spirit. But as she entered the room, the atmosphere shifted, heavy with an unspoken weight that sent a shiver down her spine.

"What's going on?" Faye asked, her voice tinged with apprehension.

"Sit down, sweetheart," her dad said, his voice unusually solemn.

Faye complied, her mind racing with a million possibilities. Had something happened? Was everyone okay?

A book she had placed neatly on her desk moments ago now lay open on the floor, its pages fluttering in a nonexistent breeze. A chill ran down Faye's spine as she approached, reaching out to touch the book, but before her fingers could make contact, it slammed shut with a resounding thud, startling her.
