Azathoth's Bane.

Come next morning, after breakfast I called up Wanda and Pietro to my workshop for a briefing.

"Take a look at this." I slid a holo-dossier across the table.

Pietro picked it up, and scrolled through it with his superspeed.

"A HYDRA base?"

"Yes. One that is located in Sokovia."

"The one you were talking about yesterday. Where Captain America's friend is trapped." Wanda realised.

"Good. You're paying attention. I like that." I praised, "I want you two to go and help Cap get his friend out of there. Consider it your first mission. You'll be meeting him by the woods here." I pointed at a holographic map of the base, "At 11 am sharp."

"11 am? That's in ten minutes!" Wanda stressed.

"Yes it is. Good thing you two brought your gear with you." I said, sarcastically, snapping my fingers as their gear fell into their laps.

Wanda pouted as she put it on.

"It's not our fault. You didn't inform us earlier."

"I did tell you about a mission today and you knew you were coming to a briefing. You should have come prepared. It's basic stuff." I said, opening another portal to Sokovia.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Yes sir!" Pietro saluted playfully and Wanda rolled her eyes at his antics before nodding.

"Alright. Remember, this is a simple extraction mission. Don't start unnecessary fights and certainly not ones you can't win. Follow the kiss rule. Keep it simple, stupid. Go in, grab the guy, run back out. Okay? No need to put yourself in unnecessary danger."

They both nodded.

"Good. Now get going. I have stuff to do here." I shooed them away and they disappeared into the portal, giggling with excitement for their first mission.

Now then....time for some experiments!

Today, I had something special planned. A new weapon. To defeat the old gods of magicians.

Because while I could kill Hades with the True Longinus from DXD, sure, but the same didn't quite hold true for Yog-sothoth, or Azathoth. They were higher beings of primordial energy. No blood the spear to drink, no divinity to drain.

Can't drain them if they can pop out of existence for a wee piss.

In essence, killing them was a pain in the ass. Just getting to them was nigh impossible already, killing them was beyond even the stuff of dreams.

But that was before.

I had a reality anchor now. And if I can infuse a weapon powerful enough with the effects of the reality anchor, maybe it won't kill them, but it certainly will be a start.

And I think it's best if I do it now rather than after getting into the magicians world.

As they say, dig a well before you thirst.

Not to mention I happen to have a handful of perfect test subjects here in the MCU.

I grinned evilly.

One Above All might have saved her then, but now...

Lady Death won't get off scot free for what she did.

Not now. Not ever.

With that, I jumped into the work.

"Computer, open Project Sudarshan Chakra."

"Yes sir." The reply came as holoscreens popped up all arpund me, projecting schematics and instructions, data and statistics all over.

The weapon I had planned was itself simple. It was a curving beam of closed timelike causal anomalies made up of linked up lightspeed dark matter particulates in the shape of a universe spanning ring. A chakram poweful enough to slay the old gods.

A chainsaw sawing through a universe at a time.

Let's do this!

I walked over to the desk and pulled out a 5 liter beaker from a portal, placing it in the center.

I napped my fingers and a forcefield popped up, isolating and sterilizing the desk and my surroundings.

The next part is a bit if a delicate operation after all. Can't have contaminants affect the process.

With a thought, another portal opened up above the beaker as a smooth, laminar flow of my signature alkahest dripped down into the beaker forming eddies like a whirlpool within, filling up 80 percent of the way. To keep the whirlpool going now, and to aid in mixing further, I reached put with my hand and flung my wrist out.

My telekinetic module popped and pulled out a handful of non-magnetized mixer beads, dripping them into the alkahest.

As soon as they dipping to the bottom, they began to spin around, maintaining the dying whirlpool, sustaining it.

Good.

Now, to begin the procedure.

I pulled out a handful of materials from a portal, reaching into my material storage cabinet.

A death crystal, crushed into fine dust, for better targetting.

A vial of Gravitonium for conductivity of higher forces.

A large dose of crystallized xanthenite, also crushed finely, alongside an 8 ounce concoction of pre-formed portal fluid, which was basically unstable portal fluid treated with the blood of a reality warper and condensed negativity from the toxic dimension to allow for causal penetration. The surefire attack that will hit it's target no matter what. It was inevitable.

The negative extract was just to debilitate the target long enough for the final element to work it's magic.

The essence of the necrosword, the prime instrument of godslaying that I had stolen from Gorr, The God Butcher, soaked in years of divine blood.

It embodied the concept now - Death To Divinity.

Another handful of exotic materials from various dimensions and a pinch of Chthulu's tears and concentrated kyber crystals, for the extra oomph, all mixed together into the beaker, forming a pink-green solution, with edges of blazing orange-black.

I looked like wizard brewing a potion at this point no doubt what woth the glowing liquid in the beaker illuminated in the dark lighting of the workshop.

Now, as it mixed completely, forming a stable solution, it was time to apply it to the last component.

I extended my hand and let loose my shard power, lighting up the room with kaleidoscopic motes of lights, a power shattering space-time as I summoned my weapon of choice to my hand.

The Conceptual Shear.

The arm length knife appeared in my hand and with one smooth motion, I tapped it on the desk, unclasping the tang from the hilt, disassembling the weapon till only the blade was left in my hand.

I pulled over a clamp, attaching it to the tang of the blade, and hung the blade upside down over the beaker before gently lowering it into the center of the thick, whirling solution.

Now it was a waiting game. Applying an accelerated time field to the forcefield over the desk, I left it to crystallize again, while I worked on the rest of the weapon.

Moving to another desk, my Octo-pack fell out of a portal onto my back as the four tentacles sprung out from behind me and I began to rustle through a pile of equipment dumped onto the floor.

I picked out a pneumatic isolator array from a pile, and an Asgardian cannon made from an Uru alloy that I had salvaged from my battle against Odin and the others.

I had reshaped it into a torch setup, with a bloom at the open end, with a rifled twist to it, while the back had openings for various components of the weapon.

Using a high powered laser in one of my tentacles, I soldered the array onto the outer face of the cannon, forming a double helix with it, and permanently reversing the array's polarity while I was at it.

This way, instead of extracting the power, just like it did to the Infinity Stones yesterday, it would infuse the power of the components into the apparatus at the tip of the cannon.

Just what I wanted.

Next I attached a base to it, bolting it to the floor with a gravitronic gyrostabilizer to prevent it from blowing up from the force of the shots I intended it to fire.

Then connecting it to the same spare generator on the ship that powered my Godslayer cannon, I attached a dark matter engine to it, turning the output to max.

Then, I attached a projection mechanism at the tip of the cannon and a propulsion system by the exhaust of the dark matter engine, to propel the dark matter out at faster than light speeds.

Finally, I inserted a reality anchor into a slot made for it in the cannon shell, connecting it to the projection apparatus.

This way, when the beam is shot, it will pass through the projection apparatus and become infused with the properties of the reality anchor

Now that the rest of the setup had been completed, all I needed to do was attach the projection crystal, and we'll be done. I walked back to the first desk, shutting off the accelerated time field as I entered, to find the solution crystallized into a gemstone, a crystal thickly sheathed over the Conceptual Shear, four inches in diameter, hued pink and green, shining a blazing red, layered with thin veins of pitch black in the interim.

I smiled satisfied and nodded.

This will do for a start.

Carefully, I raised the Shear and the attached crystal sheath out of the solution and and wiped it clean with a nanofiber cloth, brushing it, polishing it and coating it in a preservative before inserting it into the slot made for it in the projection cannon.

Closing the hatch and magnetically locking it shut, I applied a forcefield over the cannon, reinforcing it's structure alongside a whole slew of conceptual enchantments layered over it, not least of which being Annihilation and Integrity.

At last, I stepped back, wiping the sweat off my brows as a giddy happiness and contentment filled me, the joy of completing a project washing over me and I smiled wide.

Man, inventing, creating something new with your own two hands.... that's a happiness I can't get enough of!

Not only was it fun, but also, somewhere deep down, it helped me get over the pain of losing Offee a second time, the separation from the one I love, for only I know how long.

If not for this and my family, I'd have drowned myself in alcohol and worked myself to the death over and over again.

And that wouldn't be very productive, now woudl it?

With this, at least I can stuff that pain deep inside and bottle it up, distracting myself from it all.

And that's more than I can ask for, honestly.

Looking over my latest creation, fine and polished it gleamed with a black sheen, lustrous and shimmering with cosmos destroying power.

I felt ....proud. This was my baby. My latest creation.

And it was the science that would elevate me above the elder gods!

A universal chainsaw, based on Xeelee tech, their crowning achievement, the ring that tore their universe through, allowing for multiversal travel.

Where they had used it to escape the doom incoming their universe, I had turned it from an escape pod to a weapon of universal destruction.

The Sudarshan Chakra.

Or as it will one day be known.

Azathoth's Bane.

I can't wait to test it out.

I stepped forward, opening a portal out of the ship, my hand hovering over the control pad and I began to aim it at Lady Death.

One Above All had told me he sealed her at the edge of the world.

Now given that I was at this edge of the world, the citadel at the end of time, and Lady Death is nowhere to be seen, it can only mean he trapped her at the other end of it all.

The beginning of time.

No problem. She can't escape her fate as the first test subject of my new weapon. It was made to deal with higher beings.

Locking onto her, I went to flick the switch. Why didn't I use my powers?

Because there's a special joy in manually operating a weapon of doom, the pleasure of dealing out death and oblivion with your own two hands. It feels great!

But just as I was about to test it out, my contacts beeped with an alert.

"Intruder detected. Quarantining."

Intruder?

I checked the surveillance immediately and found the culprit.

Wanda, hobbling in on the arms of a green man, who was slowly turning pink, teleported to the fortified quarantine zone.

Bleeding.

How even? This was just a simple extraction. How could they fuck it up?!

I checked again.

No other anomalies.

Fine then.

"Disable the quarantine measure. I'm going in." I ordered opening a portal over.

Let's see what's up.

Wanda must have had a good reason for breaking protocol and bringing Banner over.

Not to mention Pietro was missing.

I felt a sinking feeling in my stomach.

This can't be good.
