I curse, this thing is out of our league. I look around and see 4 others who are fighting this guy, they call out to us. "What now? Ringabel! are these guys allies or enemies?"

"I don't know, but keep your guard up! agnes, Remember to use default and cover our backs!"

"I don't know! this is the farthest i've ever made it!" Ringabel states.

"Right! Tiz! Edea!" an aura of absolute defence covers whoever this group of people who are also fighting Oroborous

Examining this Agnes person, allows me to peer into the mysteries of the ability: Default. I learn it Immediately.

[Default Learned. Create an area of defense and rest your body, allowing you to Brave further.]

I notice that the named Tiz is charging some kind of energy within his body.

[You have learned the ability Brave. Brave: overtax your body in order to strengthen it by a multiple of x2, can be stacked up to 4 times. If you Braving too much too fast will require you to default, causing you to weaken back to normal and defend.]

These new abilities are overpowered!

I immediately use brave 4 times and rush forward, My party members follow suit, Bulat who is injured does the wise thing and sets an aura of default 4 times instead!

Our attacks hit the demon king, and he retaliates with his claws.

He tosses one of the Night Raid unit, and I dodge.

As I turn to return to battle, I hear a loud crack and smell burning meat.

the one named Tiz shouts, "Agnes!" looks over to see his companion Agnes, arm is charred black after defending Sheele from certain death.

Sheele Immediately casts a healing wave at her which heals her, instantly, "Thanks!" she says, Now focus!

"I'm fine!" Sheele yells, as the battle rages on.

I cast a quick heal on Sheele and Tatsumi, while Bulat's aura of protection is active. Default sure is useful, we rush forward with our new allies, doing massive damage to the crystal at the center of Orobouros' chest.

He screams, as the crystal cracks and breaks.

He roars and bellows.

"YOU WILL PAY! THIS INSOLENCE IS BEYOND GALLING!"

A tall man in a trench coat appears in the center of us, Night raid and I all use Default to defend,

"Forgive my delay," the new person says, in a cultured British voice.

"Lord Derosso! what are you doing here!" Tiz exclaims.

"You've opened a crack in the core of Oroborous, The source of it's immortality," Tiz continues to listen,

"As long as it exists, he will regenerate without end, I've come here to assist you in stopping him! I will irrevocably halt his advance!"

"But how!?" Ringabel says, his surprised delight turns to sorrow, when he see's the look on this Lord Derosso's eyes.

"You will open the wound further, I will enter the wound an fuse my essence to it, irrevocably ruining his regeneration. I will not survive this." Lord Derosso says,

"No! You must survive!" Agnes demands, "After all we've been through I don't want to see another ally perish."

Seeing the resolve in his eyes, Bulat Immediately Rushs forward and smash the crystal open further, "Nows your chance, I don't know you, but I know a man's look of resolve when I see it."

"Thank you Whoever you are." Lord Derosso's says.

"Now I can finally die. I can't live with the guilt of the world being destroyed again."

"If I can't stop the beast, I'll at least make it hurt. NOW THEN! LET US BEGIN!" He reaches out his arm, "Hm, I'm getting sentimental in my anceint age. The rest is up to you!"

"I'm ready." Tiz replies, and he and the others begin to charge the wound in the demon's heart.

"I'm counting on you."

"We will succeed!"

"Let's do this!"

The moment we are able to crack the crystal wide enough, Lord Derosso overloads his body with 16 consecutive braves, and slams his entire body into the crystal, causing it to shatter,

"IMPOSSIBLE!" the creature shouts, "I am ETERNAL! I AM OROBOROUS! I WILL NOT BE DESTROYED BY THE LIKES OF THESE 11 WANNABE HEROES"

His massive tendrils start waving around smashing everything in sight, we dive to the side,

then we dash in doing more damage to his actual body this time.

He waves his arms in a strange way and I see a distant world be devoured, it's mass being added to oroborous' body, allowing him to regenerate again.

He laughs, "Can you fathom what just transpired? No doubt not."

"At least a billion lives taken to restore me, I will continue to do this if you do not halt this INSOLENCE!" Oroborous demands, as his situation is decreasing in benefits. I can see sweat growing on his carapace, as he knows he is on the ropes despite having just regenerated.

"YOU MONSTER! ALL THOSE PEOPLE!" Agnes screams in righteous anger, as she charges at the demon. We also charge at him.

Oroborous seems to be surprised that his gambit failed.

I'm stunned at how powerful he is, but I can tell it's only going to get easier from here.

Just as we are about to kill him, he reaches out for another world.

He mocks us, "Yet another world, gone forever, I wonder how it feels to fail, Heroes of the fallen empire Night Raid? warriors of light? I find your titles worthless, and your power in contempt! I will continue to devour worlds until there are none left!"

"I'm done playing games!" Agnes declares, "I'm tired of running from the people I'm meant to protect, and I'm sick of seeing innocent people suffer and die because of our naivity! them. I'm gonna show this monster the true meaning of pain!"

Tiz nods, "I'm in!"

We all agree and charge forward Bulat grins with bloodied teeth, "I'll continue to support all of you!"

We continue to fight constantly, never tiring due to the constant changes between brave and default! We cut off pieces of him over and over, after a while though, the demon seems out of breath.

Hours pass, and all of a sudden, just as Agnes and the others seem ready to give up, the worlds that oroborous attempt to devour develop some kind of shielding,

Tiz seems to into some kind of trance. Power flows from him in rivulets and I can barely stand in his presence. "let's end this now for everyone's sake!"

Oroborous' horn shatters, his crown falls into the void and we continue to fight, now with him unable to Regenerate for real, This battle seems easy! Only due to Tiz seeming to be able to shred through him are we able to survive though.

I feel a wave of exhaustion hit me just as Tiz is able to destroy Oroborous completely.

I awaken inside of Night Raid's base the other four heroes nowhere to be seen, Everyone on our side, though, seems to be fine.

"What happened?" I ask, and Najenda tosses a file at me.

"All of the demons turned to ash at some point after you sent us back, and afterwards we started seeing stars in the sky go out. An hour after that, then the rest of you just popped into existence in front of the base. You FUCKING tell ME what happened! FILL OUT THIS DAMN MISSION REPORT I'M TAKING A NAP!"
