Imposter System

(Volume 1 Complete!) What's worse than waking up in an unfamiliar place in an unfamiliar time? Perhaps it's realizing that you are no longer human? Or that you must keep your identity secret or you will be eliminated? Perhaps even worse, you will be captured and studied-- or tortured. Matt O'Connely, or rather, the parasite that controls him, comes from modern day. After a night of gaming, he found himself in a world very similar to the game. But this was real, not a game!

Glossary

Absorption: This is a statistic that the Parasite is born with. The percentage refers to the number of evolution points from the total contained in the sample that the user can gain. (For example, a material with 10 evolution points with an absorption of 10% will only give 1 point at most.)

Base%: Whenever a % appear with a bare number it is defining a statistic. (For example, Mental Resistance 20% would mean the base value is 20% chance to resist.)

Compatibility: In the Imposter System, the compatibility of genetic material refers to the potential evolution points that are possible from that specific sample. (For Example, a material with a quantity of 12 evolution points that only has 50% compatibility cannot grant more than 6 evolution points.)

Factor: Whenever a factor is identified, it will be written in two or three significant figures. The factor defines a multiplicative adjustment of a base statistic. Factors adjust after all additive bonuses. (For example, Damage Factor 1.5 would mean a base damage of 2 would mean the damage is 3.)

Grade: This represents a life factor of an organism. This is related to complexity of life as well as intelligence and strength.

Host: This is the lifeform that the Parasite has infected and become one with. (Matt O'Connely is the current host of Matt the Parasite.)

Lv.: This is an acronym related to the common gaming term "Level" which represents a progressive increase in ability as the number increases and implies potential for growth to the next numerical number.

Meta: A common gaming term. This refers to a way of playing that players agree to be the best way to play at that current time. Games that are easily solvable tend to have static metas.

Modern: In narration, this refers to Matt's previous life in the modern era.

Modified%: Whenever a % appears with a number that has a plus or minus symbol it is referring to an additive adjustment of a base statistic. (For example, Damage +20% would mean if the base damage was 2, the adjusted would by 2.4.)

Parasite: This is an alien being whose goal is to survive, grow, and spread. It cannot exist on it's own and requires a Host. Not to be confused for the common Earth parasite. (Matt from 'modern' day has been reborn as the Parasite.)
