Mafia boss with his own principles

Sophia thought about Emily's words and felt that she was right. It's not like she is not attracted towards Daniel or she doesn't want to make this marriage successful. So, why not try to give it a chance with full efforts.

Sophia decided to let things take it's natural course. Their relationship can move on like any other arrange marriage would. This doesn't have to be made too serious.

Moreover, she isn't someone who remains stuck on the past. She knows that some people aren't worth your efforts or emotions to be invested in them. So, she has long forgotten about Liam. When she knew that he cheated on her, his chapter closed for her at that very moment. She had no feelings for him whatsoever. She won't even go to extract revenge on him if he never bothers her.

"Let's see how things go. Leave it for now. You tell me about the deal. How did it go?", Sophia asked Emily and Emily too didn't meddle too much as she knew that Sophia understood her emotions and feelings way better than a bystander like herself.

"Well as you know, we got it. It's going to be a break through for us as this mafia leader is quite influential. Also, I heard from our sources that he has his bottom line in doing things and is quite principled. I feel that they won't do anything that's against humanity, so we can work with them in the long term.", Emily said and Sophia nodded her head in understanding.

"That's good. We won't have to worry too much about investigating them. Let's just keep an eye on how things go with them in future. If they are really not into human trafficking or drug smuggling then we can continue working with them.", Sophia said and Emily agreed with her point.

Although they have set up a logistics company that delivers anything for anyone all around the world but that doesn't mean they would favour drug dealers or human traffickers. They have always remained cautious with clients from underworld as they would never support such activities that goes against humanity itself.

"Did you meet the leader? Didn't they question our integrity as we are also involved with the government?", Sophia asked being a little curious about the reason they agreed to work with them.

"I don't think their leader would bother about signing such deals himself. The person I met introduced himself as a senior member of their mafia squad. He did mention that their leader was very optimistic about us working together as he believed that we proved our integrity by showcasing our dealings in open while maintaining the required privacy. So, let's just say that things went well as the leader was very insightful.", Emily said in a relaxed tone.

Sophia also nodded her head in approval. She too agreed that the leader was quite insightful to have observed things so clearly. She never doubted that they won't be valued for their capabilities as they have proven it well over the years. But she did feel that not everyone might be willing to work with someone who deals with the police and the law breakers at same time. They might be taken as undercover government agents or something like that.

"It's good that things went well. You should take a break now. Aren't you tired from jet lag?", Sophia said and Emily nodded her head while yawning.

"I am really sleepy. Even the coffee turned out to be useless to wake me up. I am going to sleep for a while. I will crash on your couch. Wake me up during lunch time. Let's have lunch together.", Emily said while standing up and she walked to the couch and lay there while covering herself with the blanket that Sophia brought for her earlier.

"You are impossible. Can't you at least sleep in your cabin's lounge area. You can ask not to be disturbed by anyone.", Sophia said helplessly but Emily just dismissed her inquiry with a wave of her hand. Sophia shook her head and let her sleep.

Emily slept soundly while Sophia worked on her desk. She texted Anna not to let anyone barge in her office and ask the motive of their arrival first and text it to her accordingly. She let Emily rest peacefully while she worked trying not to make unnecessary sounds.

Soon it was lunch time and Sophia first texted Daniel to ask him if he had lunch. Daniel replied almost instantly to her saying he will have it while his lunch meeting and asked her to have hers. Sophia replied with an okay and ordered food from their canteen for both of them and after the food arrived she woke Emily up.

They both sat down on couch around the table and had their lunch while chatting about trivial things related to work. After lunch Emily went home. She will join regular office from the next day.

Sophia on the other hand had a meeting now and she has to go for it. She walked out and headed towards the elevator where Anna was waiting for her already, with all the required documents. They both went down and drove to the café they have a meeting in.

Sophia was busy reviewing the documents for a final check and didn't realise when they arrived at the location. After Anna reminded her she got off from the car and walked inside.

They had booked a private room on the second floor. Anna showed the reservation details and the waiter led them to their room. They both walked inside and the other party was already present there.

They greeted each other and went on with the meeting.

Meanwhile, in the restaurant opposite to the same café, Daniel was on the verge of bursting out. He came to a meeting on behalf of his father but the person he was supposed to meet didn't arrive rather his daughter was present there.

He wanted to leave immediately seeing the insincere attitude of other party. But his father's call made him sit and listen to what they had got to say. But it's been whole ten minutes and the lady is still talking about irrelevant things.
