Break The Solitude

I looked at her dead in the eyes before immediately rushing towards her, she did the same holding up her hands while both of our elbows crashed, we bounced from each other before it became a fistfight.

She sent out fist to me only for me side step and made a round-house kick that had blue energy, it made a crescent slash but she ducked and immediately sent out a punch once more.

I widened my eyes before immediately jumping up, flipping on the air before suddenly using my blue energy to propel me towards the floor. A deafening blast was heard, paired with clouds of dust while she smirked.

I rushed towards her, my eyes glowing neon blue she sent out a straight punch once more only for me to push it a bit upwards, it immediately missed while I glide towards the floor stopping behind her.

She turned around and I jumped up slamming my knee to her face, I landed on the ground behind her and immediately sent out a fast elbow while she was blown away. But I didn't stop there, I used my blue energy to hasten my speed and hold her face before punching her face towards the other direction.

"AUH!" She landed on the wall, she rubbed off the blood from her nose while looking at me straight in the eye. "Amazing prowess. But... you aren't relying on your ability are you? Normally that would be a good thing because you aren't making your ability do the job for you, but now your trust in your ability is extremely low."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Do you hate your own ability?" She asked, her face turning into one of confusion right now. I only looked at the ground before making blue energy out of my arms.

"Maybe I do." I said with a little bit of sad tone, my expressionless eyes looking once more towards her.

"Alright, let's end this match, it's quite obvious I can't match up to your power." She shrugged while looking towards me.

"You haven't used your ability yet."

"So did you. That blue energy is simply enhancing you, is it not? Using your "true" ability, is something I do not want to trigger." She made a wink before jumping away and disappearing.

"Even if you say that, I didn't know I wasn't using it. But I'm kind of glad actually, I didn't accidentally kill a person once more." I said with a small smile gracing my lips before it quickly disappeared.

I started to walk away from the scene with my hands on my pocket. My eyes looking upwards in the sky.

True ability huh? Yes she was talking about how my blue energy turned into black, I went insane on that time, I got certain visions of deaths of people, and I could even feel their pain when they get hurt...

I don't even know anymore...

The next was solitude, or so I thought. I looked towards the fog and a figure emerged, silver hair and emerald green eyes. She looked ethereal if anybody saw her. But I didn't, I have seen monsters way more beautiful than her, and I'm talking about monsters... MONSTERS.

"It was already gone?" I walked past her while she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "You! Must be a B-rank."

"Yes?"

"Did you clear this C-rank paths by yourself?" She said her voice was alerted while I stared at her with bored eyes. I closed my eyes before turning around once more.

"I did." I said before I started to walk once more. While I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulders.

"Let's report you to the guild, a b-rank adventurer!" She suddenly made a massive smile, it was like the bright sun, before I suddenly got reminded of a certain someone. I looked at her with an exasperated face.

I suddenly dropped the face before closing my eyes and scratched my head. "I'm retired." Suddenly her face started to down a bit, her eyes averted to the ground before letting go of me.

"Say, why did you quit?" The woman suddenly asked, while I was walking. I didn't turn around, my expressionless face was there but emotions swirled inside me. I suddenly opened my mouth.

"Tragedy..."

There are millions of people who joins the guild every month, but in the end, most of them are either dead or retired. Which only left 10,000 to those millions that join in a month. And that 10,000 were either doomed for death or is in a pathway to glory.

I only spoke one word and the woman instantly turned around, while I kept on walking. My true ability was... literally madness, the more that I used that cursed ability, the more my mental health decreases the more I become insane.

That was the price it costed me, it was strong, extremely strong that was why I climbed up to A-rank in just 9 months. But then everything came to a stop, everything around me started to blur and these visions of dying people got extreme.

I could feel pain all over my body at that time, the more that I try to look around me the more that I only see were monsters that haunted me. That power had shaped me into the man I am, a monster.

People in this world have no idea how heartless I am.
