Message after message appeared nearly disorienting to the kid. 'Make all messages transparent for 10 minutes.' As the messages faded, he asked the Distorter a question in between his gasp for air, as the forming of the three dots to the crown was too much for his body, "You've met… hua… me… met my.. brother? Araztel."
"Of course, he had asked for my assistance in trapping a Nether God who was also a Demon God." The distorted voice sounded a bit less distorted and more human to Vin now with the awakening of his Nether abilities. That was added to a mental note but the more important thing was that as he wanted answers.
Anger welled up within him and manifested itself in his words, "Is he alive and where the f… where is he." With just these few words Vin had memories flash through his head of his brother giving what younger Vin thought to be everything to him. Then leaving with a bag filled with what he claimed to be his. The wealth and most of their belated parent's items was left to Vin. While the truly invaluable items were… suddenly gone from that day on. Specifically the family heirloom, a Pandora's Box. It was left for the day a truly prodigious child arose. A rare one in an estimated ten million chance from a powerful gamma ranked monster.
The box was hidden in a secret room that Vin didn't even know about until his brother showed him it before leaving. The box granted the opener a second Arcane Evolution, granting them a second chance at becoming a Complete Arcaned. At worst they would get to become a re-arcanced if they weren't previously one.
That's why he was actually angered, the item meant for a true prodigy among prodigies was taken from him without a chance to reclaim. Even if Araztel was a prodigy in his own right, he didn't even meet their ancestor's talent yet.
The now slightly normal sounding voice replied to his question, "Ah yes, he had recently entered the Domain Realm. Quite impressive he got that far in so little time, though his actions in Alveria City were quite scum like."
Vin didn't like that response whatsoever and held no reservation in responding, "You're not qualified to even slightly insult anyone of Aphelion blood," he wasn't angry just disappointed in an untalented fellow to dare disrespect anyone whom he was related to.
"You. Someone not even at tier 3, dares to insult someone almost into the Aspect Realm?" He looked to the roof oddly and 4 translucent arms that looked like water sprouted from his back for a second to disappear the next, "Ah, students are so lucky to have this protection."
Vin looked at the 'talentless' fellow with a neutral face, not willing to falter before him, "You wanted to talk to me and that guy right." The Grand Distortion was visibly displeased with the lack of respect he was receiving, so he shrugged hand and then snapped to send them off. Causing a blanket of purple mist to fall over the students and masked individuals teleporting them to a new location.
…
In the new location there were 8 arenas that were around 50 by 50 meters and barriers around each of them with masked individuals numbered up to 8 on standby for each of the arenas. Two were placed in front of the 32 people, showing the brackets of who was fighting who. The fights that were going to currently be happening were numbered from 1 to 8 to coincide with the masked people. There was also a useful path that lead the people to each arena.
The crowd sat on seats raised up and far from the arenas, holographic screens made from magic for those who lack beyond perfect vision. Noise came in from every direction as of course people brought their friends and were going to talk. It is but a wonder who wanted to make money off of these fights.
Vin was delighted he turned off his portion of a crown prior to the teleportation, however when he did that basically all the skills he obtained felt like they couldn't be activated. He was nearly certain that there was at least one God Hunter in crowd, pity appeared in his head, thinking about the pathetic people who have to hunt others to get joy.
Vin quietly checked the board lost in thought and learned he was in arena 1 and he got to fight in the first set. As well he had to fight one of the known to be weakest there, he wasn't weak out of the entire school, but he was in this circumstance.
Once he got there he noticed the unique ground the arena were made of. The ground was enchanted and made of a very durable material. He felt like even if he used his strongest skill nothing would happen.
It was then he heard light taps from across the arena, Hamza had finally stepped on to the arena. He was adorned in a white and black martial artist head, similar to the old guy from the one game who spams blue orbs, uppercuts, and spinning kicks.
Vin who had only now got on the stage after admiring the floor like an idiot was faced with Hamza staring him down and sizing him up.
After looking at his opponent, Hamza actually put his hand and fist together to bow towards Vin, "Thank you for this sparring bout." Vin opted not to respond after receiving the gesture but bowed back to Hamza with a bit of respect in his mind. Hamza instantly then entered a stance reminiscent to that of taekwondo, one foot in front of the other with one open hand up and another as a fist behind him, prepared for anything.
The whirling of wind spiraling and compressing around his hands to ensure extra damage was heard across the arena. A ferocious and determined look shined through his eyes, paying the utmost attention to Vin who was simply standing there menacingly and carefree.
Until the sound of wood and wood colliding came from the clap of masked person with the number 1. "Begin!"
