(Chapter 2)Light's Subtle Manipulation

As he left the classroom, Light noticed a young girl in the distance who displayed a significant amount of Fortune.

'200 in Fortune...'

Compared to Rias, it might not be that impressive, but it was still an amount that deserved attention.

Quickening his pace, he soon approached the girl, coming within a short distance of her.

Speeding up, Light gently touched the girl's shoulder to get her attention.

"Yes?" The girl looked genuinely surprised.

Her intense reaction made Light raise an eyebrow.

"You dropped this?" Light inquired, holding out a pendant.

"It's not mine." She declared.

"I see. Then I'll take it to the lost and found later." Light remarked, placing it in his pocket: "I'm Light Yagami. And you are?"

"Megumi Kato." She replied. "I know who you are. You have a certain notoriety in the school."

"Really?" Light flashed a smile. "For what reason?"

"Better not to go into details." She retorted.

"Haha." Light let out a brief laugh.

Wanting to prolong the conversation, Light complimented Megumi: "You're beautiful. How had I never noticed you before?"

With a modest expression, Megumi replied: "Oh, thank you. It's the first time a boy has told me that... Well, I have a weak presence, so it makes sense you didn't recognize me before."

As they continued down the hallway, their conversation flowed naturally, discussing topics like school routine, teachers, and personal interests. Upon reaching the bathroom door, they had to part ways, and they did so cordially.

Light hesitated at the bathroom entrance, clearly taken aback as he hadn't expected such a turn of events.

"Truly worthy of the main heroine," Light murmured reflexively to himself.

Entering the bathroom, he headed to a stall and closed the door behind him.

'Does physical training enhance my physical power?' Light pondered mentally.

[Yes]

A cold response echoed in his mind.

'Interesting...' Light smirked slightly, and left the bathroom, heading back to the classroom.

At the entrance, he made a polite gesture to the teacher and resumed his seat.

Settling into his chair, he opened his notebook and began copying the content written on the board. As he did so, under the table, he discreetly manipulated small sparks of dark purple lightning that danced between his fingers.

Lunchtime.

In the hallway reserved for first-year students, Light observed a particular young man. His eyes had a golden glow, and his hair was a pointed medium length in a chestnut-orange hue. He was heading towards Light.

Beside Light walked a girl with long black hair reaching her waist, complemented by a fringe covering her forehead and deep brown eyes.

"Kotegawa-san, be careful!" The approaching boy shouted, seemingly tripping over an invisible obstacle, extending his hands toward the girl's chest.

"Yuki Rito!" Kotegawa Yui's reaction was immediate, expressing great irritation.

"He's going to end up falling on another girl, and this time it will be Kotegawa Yui..." Someone commented.

However, before Rito could complete his fall onto Yui, Light intervened. He quickly pulled Kotegawa Yui back, saving her from the imminent fall. This resulted in Rito losing even more balance, falling on his own and casting a confused look in their direction.

However, something that went unnoticed was a subtle dark purple lightning bolt that struck Rito, giving him a small shock, especially in a delicate area, immediately distorting his expression.

"Did he do it on purpose?"

A murmur of suspicion grew among those present, many already convinced by Yuki Rito's gaze.

"Did you see his expression when he turned before falling? He was obviously frustrated for not falling on the disciplinary committee president, hence the displeasure."

"I saw that!"

"I always knew! I always knew he did it intentionally, but no one took me seriously!"

"How is he still in school after so many incidents?"

"It's unbelievable..."

Rito, still sitting on the ground and regaining his composure, certainly heard the whispers and felt the disapproving looks. He seemed to want to justify himself, but the pain he felt was visible. His hands were over the affected area, his facial expression clearly altered.

Witnessing this scene, some began to murmur and point to Yuki Rito, the revulsion in their voices and expressions evident.

Not far away, a young girl with short purple hair watched Rito with a puzzled look, as if debating something internally.

"Yuki Rito! Stay away from me, you pervert!" Exclaimed Kotegawa Yui, appearing from behind Light after thanking him, her face colored with indignation.

Light, remaining composed, only cast a disapproving look at Rito, without uttering a word. After Kotegawa Yui moved away, he did the same.

"Kotegawa-san, please, let me explain! It's a misunderstanding!" Rito tried to reach her, but, curiously, tripped again, this time heading for another student: a striking-looking girl with messy blonde hair and deep brown eyes.

"Rise, watch out!" Rito warned, but again, his hands reached out toward her chest.

Luckily, Light was attentive and managed to pull young Rise away in time, preventing Rito from touching her.

And, like a repetition of the previous incident, Rito continued his unsteady movement until he finally met the ground, being avoided by everyone around, especially the girls, who treated him as if he were a plague.

"Thank you," said Rise, with a genuinely surprised look. She seemed amazed at Light's quickness.

"Hmm," was all that Light replied. He noticed Rise's inquisitive expression but chose not to elaborate.

Before leaving, he cast a cold and indifferent glance in Rito's direction, who remained on the ground with no one willing to assist him. He decided to leave, especially after noticing a notification that appeared before his eyes.

As Light walked away, Rito gave him a look full of suspicion, furrowing his brow.

By evening, Light arrived at his residence.

"Welcome back, Light."

Entering the living room, Light was greeted by the sister of the body he had transmigrated into. Armed with the memories of the previous inhabitant of that body, he didn't feel uncomfortable seeing her, especially since the original owner was a man of few words and naturally reserved.

"I'm back." Light said, casting a brief glance at her before heading to the refrigerator to get a bottle of water.

Pouring the water into a glass, he asked, "Where's mom?"

"She went shopping, I think." She replied with a mischievous expression, "I wasn't really paying attention, so I'm not sure."

"I see," Light murmured, finishing his water before heading towards his room.

"Light, can you help me with my math homework?" Sayu inquired with a sweet expression.

"Later, I'm going to take a shower now," Light responded.

"Alright~" She signaled positively with her hands and gave him a radiant smile.

Upon entering his room and hanging up his backpack, Light lay down, lost in thought.

Suddenly, an intense glow made him close his eyes, and when he reopened them, he noticed the screen's content had changed.

An item with this capability could be considered divine.

Light's eyes sparkled considering this potential.

He was already pondering escape strategies should he find himself in threatening situations in the future.

Having an internal refuge would be perfect.

After all, one never knows when they might face adverse circumstances.

However, for now, he had only a fraction of that seed.
