I'm Finally a Tree, But Why am I a Demon Lord

Botanist Satoshi Ki suddenly dies, meets a God, and got reincarnated as a tree. Or so he thought (on hiatus) Disclaimer: This novel follows a (kinda) omniscient pattern or when the author scrutinizes the characters to get a deeper knowledge of them and the world so if you are the type of reader that only wants to see the mc, you've been warned ;)

Pamphlet?

"Fern, stop." Reyna whispered before ducking and reaching her hands towards Fern.

"Yes, I know." He frowned, "The trees are starting to move."

Reyna remained silent. [Pestiia] She casted. Creating a ball of flame that hovered above her hand.

"It might just be Satoshi." Fern warned, holding Reyna's hand.

"You can't be too sure, Captain." She frowned, slowly pulling her hand.

The pair marched on forward, the forest silently. Not even crunching leaves. They marched on forward and upon encountering a huge piece of wood that came from another tree like a branch and connected to another tree, their guards raised even more.

"Why is the forest like this…" Fern mumbled, his hands shaking while taking a deep gulp every few seconds.

"Magic?" Reyna answered in a low tone. "It has to be some twisted magic to mess up a forest… We should leave soon, captain."

"Okay lets...lets leave." Fern stuttered before turning around, together with Reyna, power ran their way back to their camp.

"I-I told you not to shou-shout." Reyna snarled at Fern while running and panting.

"I was- hahh- I was calling for Satoshi."

"And look what happened."

Fern sighed, but did not reply. The two ran towards the same path they took to go in the forest and after a good 10 minutes of sprinting, they jumped at the grassy plains and lied down there, catching their breath.'

Meanwhile, in the forest, Satoshi just exited the tree he was latched on before and slowly sat down at the top of the same tree as he heaved a deep sigh.

"Okay let's do this." I mumbled to myself.

Pending...reward?

Wait, was that in there before? WAS IT?

[No] The same female voice echoed in my head.

Hm? Did she just answ—

[Yes. Yes I did.]

Okay this feels weird there's someone in my head talking to me, and it doesn't feel goo—

[Get somehow used to it.]

"Sure?..."

[You don't have to speak but okay… I will be off soon so just say claim reward to claim your reward.]

Following the lady's instructions, I mumbled, "Oh, umm… Claim reward?"

[Ding! Reward Claimed!] A loud bell once again rang out in my ears.

"There, I what next?"

"Hello?"

Oh, well okay then.

Then, after a few seconds, something dropped in front of me. I picked it up and felt it which, it felt like paper, and it probably is.

It is pretty dark, so I doubt I can read it right now. Then, I turned my head and saw a bright patch of...light. FIREFLIES!

Immediately, I jumped down the tall tree and the soft brushes down caught me. I started running full speed to the fireflies and by the time I arrived, what greeted me is the purely enchanting sight of fireflies fluttering about in the moonlight, tall flowers and grass that flowed ever so smoothly in the sailing wind, the gushing river that sang in the silent forest and t

I looked back at the mess I made in the forest before, and I can still see the shadows of trunks that 'accidentally' stretched up the sky... this part of the forest is TOO BEAUTIFUL I CAN'T DESTROY IT… I'll try

After swearing to myself that I won't use magic here, I took out the 'reward'

Oh, it's a… pamphlet? Hmmm.

Then I sat down in the soft grass, unfurled the pamphlet that revealed the images of what looks like are a seed, a sapling and a tree on one side and words on the other.

I looked at the seed, and it's a normal brown seed. Until the image became transparent, and it showed the anatomy of the seed— wow this is so wrong. The insides of a seed, according to this pamphlet, is simply a solid piece of mana with a strand of nature magic… I'm trying my hardest not to cry right now.

Hmmm… I can notice that it refers to the cotyledon as the solid piece of mana and the strand of nature magic as the plumule, hypocotyl and the radicle which, I think, is very oversimplifying it by saying that, and it is gravely offending me. Is this what they teach in this world? Cause if it is, oh damn! This is multitudes worse than fake news.

Moving on, I looked at the sapling and like the seed, it slowly turned transparent until it showed me the insides of it—and oh my god this is even more disappointing than the last, it basically says that the roots are the base, stem is the body and the leaves are its heads… I mean, come on, you've got to have something better than that…

Then, I proceeded with the tree. It's basically the same with the base, body, head concept which, as I said, Is oversimplifying it, but there should be a valid explanation for that.

After going through that painful journey from the 1st side of the pamphlet, I turned it around and looked at the other side. But just as I did, Bettu came by my side and snuggled herself beside me. I stroked her long horns and patted her head.

"It's almost morning Bettu." I whispered while lying on the ground and calmed myself as the fireflies fly around her and me.

Then I stood up, followed by Bettu then we started running through the silent trees, passing by fleeting birds and different weird looking animals scramming away as Bettu goes near them.

Before long, we were outside the forest and on the plains. I quickly got down, latched on a grass, got atop Bettu again and looked around and set my eyes on the camp...well there's a fire ,and it's still dark. Bettu drifted towards the camp but we got stopped by Reyna.

"Where were you." She asked sternly.

"In the forest?" I answered as I got down Bettu.

Then she squinted her eyes, "Did you do that?" She questioned me.

"Did what?"

"The anomaly in the forest?"

"Yes? And what if I did?! It was accidental! I didn't even mean to do i-"

"I see, good night then." She interrupted before slowly turning around while glaring at me.

Wow, she really can't get over that hu— THE PAMPHLET!
