______

Beauxbatons | 30th June 1986 | 1 PM

All the children were spending time with their friends on the last day of school, after which they would be away for 2 months for Summer. Charlus was spending the day similarly, though he was quite disappointed.

Over the course of the whole year, he had completed only half of the first book his Uncle Remus had given him. None of the achievements and the persons in the book had struck out to him.

The goal itself was quite vague, as it just specified him to look for the person who saved him. He had no idea as to who that person did other than save him, but he had no option but to blindly look for something he didn't even know about.

His classes went on like the first part of the year. His etiquette class covered all table manners and fencing they had to know. They were also done with piano and violin. They were told that they would do flute, and they would also start horse riding the next academic year. Everyone was very excited.

The one class Charlus loved was Theory of Magic. They had covered a majority of Charms and Transfiguration. Next year they would have Potions and Herbology. The last year was dedicated to Alchemy.

All of Charlus' circle were mainly excited that they no longer had to attend Madam Abadie's classes. Even if they forgot how she was against Charlus in the beginning, they also found her too strict and demanding. Especially the girls. In her opinion, all girls had to be groomed to become proper housewives who waited on their husbands, which was strange coming from a woman's mouth. Especially a woman who was WORKING AS A PROFESSOR and UNMARRIED.

They looked forward to seeing their new teacher and were happy that Professor Papillion would continue teaching them for the next 2 years. They were discussing which teacher they would get by presenting their research.

"I think we will get Professor Masher for Flute. I asked the upperclassmen and they said that Professor Masher had been their Flute teacher too."

Charlotte proudly presented the information she got from the students who were loitering near the Dining Hall. Lucas was confused though.

"Professor Masher? Which one? There are two."

Charlotte didn't answer. She turned slightly red with embarrassment as she forgot to ask her seniors which person Professor Masher was. Fleur covered for her friend.

"We can leave that as a surprise. Do you know who teaches horse-riding?"

Everyone shook their head.

"What's everyone planning on doing this summer?"

"I'm going to tour all of France with Selene!"

Charlotte was very excited about her upcoming trip with her friend. She had thought about doing something with Selene after she heard Charlus had Henri at his house during Winter Vacation. It wasn't that she was jealous, but that it was such a great idea that she was inspired.

"I'm going to do my estate in the country."

Charlotte, Henri and Lucas all said that they were going to their estate. It wasn't an amazing coincidence. Most Houses used the summer to have family meetings to spend time together and plan the future of the house. Lucifer didn't have to do that because his family was very small and they could have it in their own house.

Fleur said, "Well we are just staying in our house. Mother is pregnant. She's giving birth this summer."

Everyone congratulated her. After that, they were silent for a bit. Then they looked collectively at Charlus.

He looked at all the stares at him and said, "I am going to go to Britain. We have family friends there."

This summer, Sirius decided to introduce Charlus and Harry to the Order. Sirius wouldn't have done it without the forcefulness of Augusta though. Augusta had threatened Sirius to bring the children, or she would try to contest for Harry's and Charlus' guardianship. Charlus was excited when he heard he would meet people his age.

After Charlus said that, everyone became silent again. Then, they tried to look for topics to talk about, but they couldn't find any.

Selene tried to start something.

"It's nice we don't have exams right?"

Since they were still kids, the school didn't test what students learnt in the first three years. Only after becoming a 4th year would things be more like a normal school. Well, a normal magical school.

"Yeah. 4th year is far away, but I want it to come."

Lucifer was very enthusiastic about the 4th year to everyone's surprise.

Charlus asked, "Why? Do you like the exams?"

Lucas laughed. "No silly! He wants to join clubs. His father was president of the Herbology club so he can become president too."

Everyone else was surprised. "Clubs?"

Lucifer explained, "In 4th year we can join clubs based on interest. I don't know about other clubs. I only know the Herbology Club, Dueling Club, Alchemy Club, oh there's two Alchemy clubs. That's it."

Charlus found having two Alchemy clubs redundant.

"Why are there two Alchemy clubs? Why not have only one?"

Lucifer shook his head. "I don't know. Father said that the club was formed for not purebloods only."

Everyone didn't quite understand since they weren't aware of the supremacism of purebloods and how they treated half-bloods and muggle-borns.

"Let's go to lunch."

Since everyone was hanging out since breakfast, they hadn't gone to lunch yet. Since they were hungry, they went, leaving behind the conversation. They wouldn't pick up the conversation for a few years.
