At the same time, Arthur and Luna arrived outside the Ravenclaw common room.
"Just let me know if your roommates are bullying you again,"
Arthur said as he stood in the corner and watched Luna draw on her sketchbook.
"They're just playing jokes...," Luna shook her head, "But now that they know I'm friends with Arthur Gaunt, the smartest and most talented student in Hogwarts' history, they probably won't try it again."
Arthur scratched his head. It felt a bit embarrassing hearing Luna say that.
But since Luna said that, he wouldn't bother her too much.
Luna was very smart and knew how to take care of herself.
Arthur would be getting in the way if he got too involved.
Luna raised the sketchpad in her hand.
"I'm going back to finish it."
Arthur nodded.
He had planned to go back to his room to rest, but he intervened because of Luna's situation.
...
In front of the Headmaster's office, Arthur stood with a burnt diary in his hand, facing the statue guarding the entrance.
"Password," the stone statue asked.
"Cockroach Clusters," Arthur replied.
It was the password Dumbledore had given him last time when they discussed the Chamber of Secrets problem.
Arthur wasn't sure if Dumbledore had changed it.
Luckily, the statue opened when it heard the password.
Inside the office, Dumbledore sat behind his desk, holding a bunch of Cockroach Clusters and putting them into his mouth.
Arthur could see Dumbledore swallowing loads of Cockroach Clusters.
The two legs sticking out of his mouth kicked and twitched, which made Arthur's mouth twitch violently.
Dumbledore had always had unusual likes of food.
He loved Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, especially the booger flavor, and now he was into cockroach clusters.
When Dumbledore noticed Arthur entering, he was also surprised. But he quickly regained his composure and showed a gentle smile.
"Gaunt, although it's unexpected for you to visit, I still have to ask, would you like some cockroach clusters?"
Dumbledore said.
Arthur forced a faint smile, "No, thank you, Professor. I just had a full meal this night."
Dumbledore nodded sadly and then waved his wand, and a chair flew to the other side of his desk.
He gestured for Arthur to sit down.
Arthur placed the diary on the table before taking a seat.
Dumbledore looked at the diary on the table, knowing that this was the purpose of Arthur's visit.
Picking up the diary and examining it closely, Dumbledore furrowed his brow.
"Sorry, Gaunt, but this diary has been badly damaged. Could you tell me about what happened?"
Arthur adjusted his position, finding a comfortable sitting posture.
"This is Tom Riddle's diary, Professor. During Mrs. Norris's situation, it controlled my friend Astoria. But I have destroyed this diary."
The portraits of the previous headmasters on the wall quietly opened their eyes and looked at the diary.
One skinny white-haired male headmaster covered his face in shame.
Dumbledore's expression changed when he heard Tom's name, and he asked Arthur for more information.
Arthur also didn't hold back and told Dumbledore everything that happened, except for the true Chamber of Secrets of Salazar.
The fat witch in the portrait screamed in disbelief, realizing a basilisk was in the school.
"Sorry, Headmistress Derwent, but I think I've tamed the basilisk, so it's no longer a threat to Hogwarts,"
Arthur said with a smile to the headmistress, which he knew well.
Dilys Derwent, a former headmistress of Hogwarts and the former Matron of St. Mungo's Hospital, was one of the few female headmistresses.
"Kid, this is Slytherin's legacy. It's not something a Ravenclaw like you can touch! Unless you promise to move to Slytherin."
An angry-looking headmaster yelled at Arthur, but he was knocked down immediately by another headmaster, probably from Ravenclaw.
Arthur just stood by and watched the older men fight.
The headmaster who was knocked down just now was Sirius Black's great-great-grandfather and the most unpopular headmaster in Hogwart's history.
Phineas Nigellus Black
Dumbledore frowned.
He already knew what this was about, and what worried him most was that Tom was so careless with guarding the Horcrux, which could mean one thing.
The Horcrux he made were not just this one...
"Gaunt, how did you destroy this diary?"
"With Fiendfyre Curse, I destroyed it,"
Arthur openly admitted to using dark Arts.
Dumbledore looked at Arthur closely, but he didn't ask him why he knew Fiendfyre Curse.
He had known about Arthur's special skills since his last semester, and Fiendfyre was no problem for him.
But now, Arthur gave Dumbledore a little bit of a bad feeling.
He didn't know why this young wizard had grown so powerful, but he knew Arthur was different from Voldemort, so he didn't ask about it anymore.
Dumbledore didn't have time to discover Arthur's secrets because he had to deal with a big enemy.
"I take back what I said. You, you dangerous boy, should be sent to Azkaba," said Headmaster Black, whose face was bruised and swollen.
Even in Slytherin, which created many dark wizards, a second-year student had never mastered Fiendfyre before.
Arthur ignored Headmaster Black and looked at Dumbledore with a troubled expression.
The reason he told Dumbledore about the existence of Horcrux was because some of them were too difficult to find.
Hufflepuff's Cup was still in the Lestrange family vault, which he couldn't get his hands on quickly.
As for the snake named Nagini, it probably hadn't become Voldemort's Horcrux yet.
He decided to get the Slytherin locket and the Ressurection Stone himself and leave the rest for Dumbledore to worry about.
Dumbledore had also regained his composure and looked at Arthur.
"Thank you, Gaunt. This is very important information. Let's just forget about what happened with Miss Greengrass. No one will mention it again. I will talk about the contribution you made at the banquet tomorrow."
Realizing that Dumbledore was dismissing him, Arthur nodded and stood up.
"Merry Christmas, Headmaster."
"Same to you, Gaunt."
