115 Chapter 115: Bully

After dinner, the Ravenclaws returned to their dorms to continue the party in the Ravenclaw common room.

There weren't many things for young wizards to do for fun in the wizarding world, and Quidditch was one of the few things everyone could do.

So, the young wizard would be very excited for a long time after each Quidditch game.

This was especially true for Ravenclaw, whose Quidditch team was mostly made up of girls and rarely won games.

However, in the middle of the celebrating atmosphere, there was one person who appeared out of place.

Luna was sitting quietly in a corner, holding a board and writing and drawing on it while humming a strange tune. Her weird behavior caught the attention of some young wizards.

Many people had already noticed this Ravenclaw first-year student, who had always seemed a little strange since she joined the school.

Many people avoided her because of her eccentric clothing, strange words, and stories about magical creatures that no one had ever heard of.

Some even gave Luna a nickname - "Loony Luna."

Her roommates would often whisper about her behind her back.

"She's really a crazy girl, always talking about strange things like Crumple-Horned Snorkack that don't exist at all."

"Yeah, she even made a necklace out of butterbeer caps. Why doesn't she use a beer bottle as an earring?"

"..."

Luna never cared about these things, and as time passed, these people got bolder and bolder, sometimes even saying bad things about Luna without trying to avoid her.

"Lovegood, are you drawing your Crumpled-Horned rhinoceros?"

Lawrence saw Luna's actions and mockingly spoke to her.

"It's not a horned rhinoceros, it's a Crumpled-Horned Snorkack,"

Luna corrected Lawrence with a serious look on her face.

Then Luna explained,

"I'm not drawing a horned snorkack because I've never seen one."

Luna's serious attitude made everyone laugh out loud, which made Lawrence very happy.

Lawrence was usually the one who couldn't stand Luna the most.

Lawrence was jealous of Luna because, even though she looked strange, her refreshing aura and beauty couldn't be hidden.

Luna didn't say anything more and lowered her head to complete her own work.

Lawrence approached and snatched the drawing board from Luna's hands.

"Let's see what Miss Lovegood is up to."

She looked at the drawing board and saw a young dark-haired wizard riding a broomstick and holding a beater's club, ready to hit a Bludger.

Above the drawing, there was a banner that said, "Go for it!"

Lawrence easily recognized that the little figure on the drawing board was Arthur, the only male Beater in Ravenclaw.

"Oh, what have I found? Lovegood is making a special banner for Arthur Gaunt."

Lawrence's tone was too loud.

"Could it be that you like him?"

Lawrence laughed, even she herself joined in.

Many people nearby secretly laughed, mocking Luna for being innocent.

Arthur held a high position in Ravenclaw, and many young witches secretly admired him but didn't dare to show it.

And here Luna was making a banner to cheer on Arthur.

What else could it mean if not liking him?

"We're friends..."

Luna patiently explained, but unfortunately, no one believed her words.

"Maybe you think you're friends just because you know him? Just look at yourself."

Lawrence's sarcastic words made Luna uncomfortable, and she frowned.

But then, a voice came, overpowering all the noise.

"What? Do I need to tell you who I can be friends with?"

The crowd automatically made way as Arthur's figure appeared, slowly walking towards Luna.

Looking at the somewhat shocked Lawrence, Arthur's gaze was full of questions.

"Who are you?"

"I-I'm Lawrence Bartty, Arthur, I didn't mean it that way. Just now..."

"Call me Mr. Gaunt, we're not that close,"

Arthur interrupted her with annoyance.

He had heard Lawrence make fun of Luna earlier, and now that he had heard her name, he remembered that she was the one who had made Luna go out in the rain to find the Horned Snorkack.

At that moment, he felt extreme disgust towards Lawrence.

Extending his palm, Arthur looked at Lawrence.

"Miss Barty, shouldn't you return Luna's drawing to her?"

"Oh, uh."

Lawrence got scared and quickly gave him the sketchbook.

She hadn't expected Luna and Arthur actually to know each other, and it seemed like they had a good relationship.

Taking the sketchbook, Arthur looked at the drawing.

He saw the drawing of himself in the picture waving and smiling, so he smiled back and returned it to Luna.

"You did a great job, I really like it."

"Thank you, I like it too."

Luna's clear eyes stared at Arthur as she spoke softly.

Arthur nodded with a smile, then turned to look at the crowd, his expression turning emotionless again.

The students of Ravenclaw knew better than anyone how cold Arthur could be, so none of the young wizards dared to breathe—seeing him the way he was also made them a little scared.

After all, they had just mocked Luna.

Arthur looked around and focused for a few extra seconds on the person who had just laughed the hardest before he spoke.

"Luna and I are indeed friends, and good friends at that. I hope you won't casually mock my friend in the future. It's a basic form of respect for others, isn't it?"

After saying that, Arthur took Luna's hand and left the crowd behind, leaving a group of shocked young wizards.

It took a while before someone dared to speak.

"Scared me, I thought Arthur was about to draw his wand."

"Same here. I never expected the crazy girl to actually be friends with Arthur."

"Shut up! Can you call her a loony girl? Call her a fairy!"

"..."

The young wizards started discussing and debating Arthur and Luna's relationship, but they no longer dared to call Luna by her nickname.

"Loony girl."

However, everyone immediately kept their distance from Lawrence, which caused her face to go pale to blue.
