Watched

Days went by, and as Alex and Katie continued to investigate, Alex became the target of a group of boys in the orphanage. They would taunt him during meal times, and one day, they went as far as to steal his food. Katie had not been around when it happened, but she heard the commotion from a distance.

When she arrived at the scene, she saw Alex trying to retrieve his food. The boys had pushed him around, and he was lying on the ground, beaten up, and his food was all over the floor.

Katie rushed over to him, but he was unconscious. She knew that she had to act fast, so she carried him to the infirmary, where she begged the caretakers to help him. The caretakers were not much help, but Katie refused to leave his side.

As she sat by his side, she couldn't help but feel scared and alone. Alex was her only friend in the orphanage, and her heart ached for him. Despite her fear, she vowed to protect him, no matter the cost.

One night, while Alex was still in the infirmary, Katie looked out the window and saw Miss Craven lurking in the shadows. She knew that something was off, and decided to sneak out and follow her.

Miss Craven led her to a dimly lit room on the ground floor, where Katie saw something alarming. There were screens all around the room, and on each screen, she saw a different orphan. The screens showed the children in various parts of the orphanage, as if they were being monitored.

Katie's stomach sank as she realized the gravity of the situation. The children were being watched, but for what reason? She had to tell Alex, but she had to find a way to get out of the room undetected.

As she tiptoed back to the infirmary, she heard footsteps behind her. She turned around and saw Miss Craven's eyes gleaming in the dark. She knew that she had to act quickly or risk being caught.

Katie ran for her life, and when she reached the infirmary, she locked the door behind her. She sat by Alex's side, trembling with fear, but grateful to have someone by her side.

As she waited for the morning to come, she couldn't help but wonder what would happen next. Whatever it was, she would be ready for it. She had to protect Alex, and her instincts told her that the danger was very real.
