Chapter three: Horns

"Come on! Is that all you got?!"

Rushing in for another explosion, the blue-haired one sat on the ground getting ready for impact. With a massive grin, he extended his hand out for his attack...but nothing happened. Bakugo looked at his hand, his grin disappeared. In instant, he shouted, " The hell did you do sleeping bag?!"

He was directing that to Mr.Aizawa. His hair was flying up, he told, " Iida Tenya is unable to continue. The winner is Bakugo Katsuki."

Infuriated, He stomped off. Everyone was giving comments on his behavior. High ego, constantly mad at something(sorta like me IRL but it's just my expression, I'm not mad.)

Izuku gave mental applause as for going up to him would give him trouble. It was the last match for the solos and Bakugo had won, beating the guy named Iida Tenya. And now it was the final round for the groups.

Being pulled over to the back of the gym, Mina seemed to have an idea. When brought over so then no one heard them, She said, " Midoriya-san, I just got this great idea!"

"Alright. Let's hear it." He replied, stepping a bit closer, just in case.

"Okay so, your telekinesis can move anything right?"

"Yes, I can. Though it's weak for right now. I was barely able to carry the robots in the entrance exam." He told.

"Well, it's very light, " She then gave him a gulp of acid, " Try lifting this.". He nodded, putting his hand out. Concreting, the acid lifted. The little droplets that would fall didn't. Moving left, right, up, and down to her palm.

"What is your plan?" Izuku asked, letting his hands down. Mina dropped the developed acid and said," I think that your telekinesis is faster than my throwing. Therefore, you're gonna control the acid try to hit them. What I also thought of was that even if the acid does hit, you'll still have control of it. So We won't have to replenish the acid over and over again. How does that sound?"

Izuku thought it over, It sounds like a great idea. We'll be able to use her quirk more effectively than normal. Then we can attack multiple at once.

"That sounds great Ashido-san!" Izuku praised

"Not so loud!

"sorry."

They looked over at everyone else, no one had heard a thing. Then Mr.Aizawa had called everyone over for the final group battle, Midoriya and Ashido v.s Shoji and Hagakure. When Midoriya took a glance at the two, one was not visible, only her gym uniform. The other had more limbs, wearing a mask.

Easily, The invisible one's quirk is invisibility, but the other is a limb growing quirk. Yet, he doesn't know what it grows or how many times can they do.

"Are you guys ready?!" Present mic screeched. Nobody answer like always. He sighed and started, " Go!"

The invisible one was now completely invisible. The spot where she was, her gym uniform was on the ground. Izuku grew agitated, she could be anywhere. "Ashido, Be careful-AH", smack on his face, making him stumble toward ashido. He planted his hand on his face. "Are you alright Midoriya?" Ashido asked, having her shoulder against him.

"Yeah. She caught me off guard." Izuku told.

Ashido gave a grin, it made Midoriya wonder why to grin right now. " Then we gotta figure out how to find her. Here, took this!"

She pulled out acid once again. Izuku took it with his quirk and carried it. He pondered, what to do in the situation? This girl's invisible, meaning that I can't see her. But her weakness is that it's the only thing she has. He looked at the acid and gave out both hands. Closing his eyes, he spread his hands apart, making the acid stretch. Now it's a long line of acid. Because the telekinesis is attached to the whole thing, it shouldn't fall apart. Now I've got a whip.

Holding it with one hand, he swung it back and made a full charge. He had no contact, which meant she dodged it. He swung it back and forth, hoping to hit her with this attempt, yet he got nothing. However, he got another fist to his face, sending him to the very corner of the field.

Ashido was also there, The masked pushed her back here. "We're trapped!" She said, throwing more acid out to stop the multi-limbed one.

In a quick reaction, Izuku spread the acid out like a wall in front of them. Ashido fell on her bottom catching her breath. " This is getting way worse than before!"

"Y-yeah. The invisible one has quick reflexes! She dodged the whip I created, I was swinging it fast too. If only I knew her location." Izuku mumbled.

A confused noise came from Ashido as she got up. " Was your horns always light green? Aren't they like dark green, like your hair?".

Perplex, he told, " They should be dark green—But that shouldn't matter. We're gonna use my other quirk. Last-ditch effort!"

She nodded getting ready. Izuku let go of acid and took a deep breath. The wall dropped with the masked one on the other side. Izuku noticed something as he held his breath, it felt stingy. When he did the smoke, it felt dull.

Discharging the breath, light green stuff came out. Small droplets of them landed on the ground, adding up to make a pool of it. The masked one stepped back, they heard a loud stump to his right. " What is that?" a feminine voice came out.

As sat there, it melted the ground, though it wasn't a high melting process. The melting stopping but the light green stuff stood there. "That might be acid," Shoji spoke.

"That's not my acid." Ashido let out.

Izuku took another breath, "That doesn't matter right currently.". Ashido knew what he was talking about, taking out acid. Shoji started to back up.

Releasing his breath, more acid came out. While he was releasing it, Ashido was throwing hers. Partially of Izuku's landed on the air, then you heard a scream of pain. The acid landed on the invisible one.

It looked like she fell on the floor.

"Alright, that's enough!" Aizawa said. Coming up to the field, he stepped toward the invisible one, " Hagakure-san, are you all right?"

She gave a breath of agony, " It burns so bad! I-I think there's blood!"

He nodded, looking over to the crowd. " Iida-san, take her to recovery girl. Quickly!". With diligence, Iida grabbed her clothes and handed them to her. She put it on and got onto Iida's back. Then he sprinted away.

Aizawa sighed, " That's it for today. Someone was seriously injured and I don't want to continue on that note. Also, I would like to talk to Midoriya and Ashido after y'all change."

Izuku felt uneasy. The words that Hagakure said made him feel guilty. He hurt someone. Therefore, it would be troublesome for him.

Getting a hand on his shoulder, ashido said, " Don't worry Midoriya. It'll be alright."

" It's not Ashido-san! I didn't want to hurt her!" Izuku told, " That's not what a hero does! And I used something I didn't know what it does. I should've taken what you've said for the better. My horns turned a different color? That sounded ridiculous! Yet, that was a sign. A sign of something my quirk has done. "

"but it's not your fault! Yes, your quirk changed due to something and you used it, but you were at the moment! So don't beat yourself down Midoriya!"Ashido asserted, grabbed on to his horns from behind.

He got lots of shivers but just let go. She was right about it. But he's scared of one thing. What did Aizawa want to talk about?

"A-ashido... Could you tell me why you were grinning doing our fight?" Izuku asked.

Ashido gently let go of his horns, answering" To hide away my fear!"

"What?"

" I smile to hide away my fear. I was getting scared of Hagakure's quirk. She could turn up anywhere. I got anxious, thinking we're gonna lose, so I just smiled."

"I came up with right now since it sounded like the most reasonable answer."

it made sense, Izuku thought. She smiled to hide it. Maybe it would help him as well.

As the water splashed against his back, he seemed soup on his body. Izuku had gonna inside to take a shower before meeting up with Aizawa-sensei. He was getting kinda smelly.

Izuku continued to ponder what will happen. Get scolded for using his quirk like that? It seems like the approach he'll take. But since it was only Izuku who had done them harm, why add on Mina? Maybe because she was acting on it by adding her acid to the advance. Either way, they got in trouble and they got to deal with it.

"Midoriya, that was a nice trick you did back there! Were you saving it for Bakugo? If you were that would have probably worked on him!" a voice said, as a nearby shower opened and closed. The voice sounded familiar. Izuku ended back and saw Kaminari taking a shower.

"Oh hey Kaminari-san, ", Izuku greeted, " Why are you taking a shower now?".

He turned on the water and replied, " I wanted to talk to you. Also, you would have been alone."

"Well, that's nice of you, thanks."

"No problem!"

A round of silence went by before Kaminari asked, " Well, what's your answer?"

Izuku raised an eyebrow, but then understood what he meant." Oh yeah, that. Uh, I wasn't hiding it. It sorta happened."

"What do you mean?" Kaminari implored.

"I didn't know about it until it happened. As you probably already know, we were stuck in the corner. I was having trouble keeping my quirk up to hold the wall, so I decided to use my Fire breath. Right before that, Ashido mentioned something about my horns, they had turned a different color. She said something about it turning light green. I ignored it, she was perhaps tired and saw a different color. Then that leads to the point where I used acid."

"Mmm, that sounds problematic," Kaminari noted. He quickly said, " Hold on. I think I remember your horns turning a different color as well!"

Izuku now flabbergasted asked, " When?"

"Back when we had our first. I was just about to discharge my two billion volts but shut off short. Then I saw that your horns turned yellow and black. Yellow at the base and black at the tip." Kaminari reviewed.

Izuku was lost for words. It changed two times! And when it changed the second time, it affects his breathing quirk. A light green meant acid. But how did it happen? Did he perform an action that caused it?

" That's it!"

" What's it?"

"I know what caused it to change, I think. I don't know for sure, especially about how it turned yellow and black but I know how it turned light green!" Izuku acknowledged.

"I remember making the long whip with Ashido's acid, I saw that some of the acids were dripping off. I didn't pay any mind and used it. So I think that the acid caused it."

Kaminari looked over to him and asked, " How does that connect?"

Turning off the water, he answered, " Don't know. But all I can do right now is try it out!". " And I might need your help too, Kaminari-san!"

He did the same and stepped out, " Yeah! Call me whenever!"

"Alright, Whenever..."

" That was my fault"

"Yes. Yes it was"
