The Order of Blight (part 2)

After the group split up, Yashiro, Rando, Mika, Shihata, Murake and Rani slowly crept into the main building.

They stopped at the first floor and crouched so their movements were more quiet.

Rando quietly asked, "if that man Takegai knocked out was wearing a gas mask, I think it's safe to assume the teachers have been taken out with some sort of gas. So the question is, what exactly is the end goal here? Also, is it possible to wake the teachers up?"

The students realised, there were a lot of things they hadn't considered as they went into the building.

Rani thought hard for a few seconds before speaking. "If an incapacitating agent was used, the teachers won't wake up for at least 4 hours but they're still at risk right now. Depending on what was used, their airways may be affected and they may stop breathing. So the teachers still have to be a priority. They need a higher exposure of oxygen to prevent any damage."

As she spoke, Yashiro admired her and smiled. He was brought back to the present as Mika started speaking.

"I think I could probably get into the staff room. There are a few windows overlooking the complex, and the see through panel just outside the room. Would opening them be enough to increase their oxygen intake?"

Rani nodded. She was very surprised to see this side of Mika as she just assumed she was hotheaded and self centered.

Rando asked another question, "What if there's someone guarding the room? Incase the gas didn't work on everyone"

"that won't be a problem but If there is someone there, just keep them occupied for a few seconds."

"That shouldn't be a problem" Murake said, as they formulated a plan.

Meanwhile, most of the other students were in their rooms, worried about their classmates but also slightly scared.

The others were thinking about their decisions not to help out but they figured, in a stealth mission, the smaller the number, the greater the chance of success. They all tried to make the most of their current situation but they were all on edge.

Chino walked into Fukuma's room. "Hey Fukuma, hope I'm not disturbing"

He shook his head,"No you aren't, what's up?"

"Do you think we made the right decision? I mean leaving those guys to go on their own"

He sat up on his bed. "I've been thinking about that. I think they'll be fine. The small group taking action are very smart and use their abilities well. All electronic devices are fried so I'd be useless. Besides if everyone went, it would be easier for those men to spot us"

She sighed, and sat on the bed next to him "That's true but I feel bad"

He smiled reassuringly and placed his hand on her shoulder, there's no need to feel bad. If I'm correct, I think they'll try to free the teachers and even if they succeed or not they'll retreat if things kick off"

She smiled, "thanks Fukuma, I guess you're right "

Murake looked at Mika and nodded, as a signal. The were at the top of the stairs leading to the 2nd floor and just around the corner to the left and in front was the staff room with 5 standing guard.

As the signal was given, Mika crouched and touched the floor and her shadow began extending. Her hair rose up and the look on her face was one of pure concentration.

5 felt a change in the air coming from the stairs so he went to investigate. As he walked towards where the kids were huddled up, Murake heard his footsteps and he raised his hands just as 5 turned the corner.

From 5's perspective, there was absolutely nothing in front of him. Murake had created an illusionary background. The students all stayed still as 5 looked right through them.

Yashiro felt something familiar about 5 but shrugged it off as his mind playing tricks on him. He was hoping there would be no altercation as he was still thinking about him not being able to use his ability to its full extent.

Much to their relief, 5 shrugged his shoulders and went back to his post while Mika's shadow extension, under Murake's illusion continued to flow towards the staff room. It flowed past 5's leg, under the door and into the staff room.

A pool of shadows formed in thr middle of the staff room and also beneath Mika.

She slowly sank into the pool beneath her feet and slowly emerged from the pool in the staff room. A move she named "Shadow Translocation".

The rest were left with their jaws dropped.

As soon as Mika emerged, she covered her nose and mouth with the bottom of her top and looked around the room. She spotted the canisters on the floor, looked at and suddenly realised that the windows were power windows and could not be opened manually only electrically and none of the electronic devices were working.

[shit] She thought to herself quietly. [I'm going to have to break the window but that'll make a lot of noise. What do I do?]

Around the same time, a similar thought occurred to Yashiro. How were they planning on opening the see through panels without alerting 5. He very quickly realised that would be impossible as the panels were not there to be opened.

He hurriedly tapped Rando's shoulder and whispered, "We have a problem. We have to take that guy out. There's no way to open that panel without him realising. We just need a distraction"

Just as he said that, there was a loud sound coming from inside the staff room, as Mika smashed the windows.

5 turned around immediately and was about to open the door when out of the corner of his eye, he spotted a low wall of ice travelling across the floor towards him. He immediately jumped out of the way but into Rando, who was already beside him. Rando pulled his arm and threw him backwards into Yashiro, who slammed his forearm into his chest, knocking him into the ground.

As Minako went towards him, with the plan to lightly freeze him on the ground, Rando turn his arm into steel and punched the panel in front of him, smashing it to pieces.

As Minako crouched to touch 5 legs, Shihata touched Murake and activated her ability to see if anyone would come running down and from which direction they did so but what she saw shocked her severely.

She pushed Murake out of the way and lunged towards Minako and pushed her out of the way just in time but 5 had already turned his hand into a blade, which he plunged into Shihata's chest.

The other students momentarily froze. The idea they embedded into their heads that they wouldn't be harmed destroyed as their classmate fell to the floor, screaming loudly and clutching her chest.

As the rest of his classmates were struck with terror, Yashiro realised why 5 felt so familiar. As he looked at his bladed arm, he remembered his mother's words as she described to him the men who attacked the museum.

"...one of them had a short ponytail and was fairly gentle. I think his ability had something to do with diamonds. The other was bald. He genuinely scared me. He turns his arms into weapons. Killing that receptionist meant nothing to him..."

Something changed in his head and Yashiro's emotions immediately went from fear to anger. He was staring at the man who had threatened his mother's life and had now gravely wounded his classmate.

As he stepped forward, he experienced a new and unique sensation as for the first time, he simultaneously increased the sizes of all the muscles in his body, making them twice their normal size, and ripping his t shirt in the process.

He lunged at 5, moving so fast that he cracked the floor, he reached a speed he'd never reached before and in a split second, swung a vicious punch at 5, catching him in the jaw and sending him flying through the walls and out of the main building.

The fall was a bad one for 5 as they were on the second floor.

Minako, Rani and Murake both rushed to Shihata's aid, applying pressure on her wound. Yashiro stood in front of them in disbelief.

She was coughing up blood but she placed her hand on Minako's arm and her eyes went purple.

"What are you doing, Shihata?" Minako said, with a tone of worry in her voice. "You need to take it easy"

She also noticed that Shihata's finger was pointing to the stairwell behind Rando and Mika, who had just now come out of the staff room and was shocked at the scene in front of her, though her face remained expressionless.

Minako understood what that finger meant. With tears in her eyes, she turned around and yelled "Behind you"

Rando turned around, turning his entire body into steel.

He immediately regretted this decision as 7 sent several hundred volts of electricity through his unfortunately conductive skin.

Rando fell to the floor Immediately, completely unconscious, with smoke emanating from his body.

Mika taking action, immediately charged at 7.

She kept herself low and quickly covered the distance between the both of them.

7 shot a bolt at her but she sidestepped, dodging it and smashing her palm into the bottom of his jaw. He staggered backwards and got into an offensive stance. Mika cautiously took several steps backwards.

"Kid, walk away" He said, "your friend seems to be in quite the predicament. You should be focused on that"

Mika's hair rose again, she was extremely angry and had her usual bloodlusted look on her face. Multiple solid shadow like tentacles emerged from her own shadow.

7 had a confused expression on his face. [What the fuck?] he thought. He pointed his hand at Mika as electricity charged in it and fired a much larger bolt at her.

Two of the tentacles joined together in front of Mika and completely absorbed the bolt, much to 7's surprise. Mika immediately separated the shadow forms and sent all of them towards 7, binding his hands and stretching them out to the side, they also wrapped around his legs too and then finally around his neck, strangling him.

Meanwhile, Minako yelled at Murake to go and get Sando. He got up and ran to the dorms Immediately.

When he got there, Sando, Chino, Fukuma and Tanori were all standing around the still unconscious man Tekegai had knocked out.

They immediately knew something was wrong from the desperate look on Murake's face. He immediately explained the situation to them.

Although it was Sando Minako asked for, Tanori followed him, leaving Chino, Murake and Fukuma to watch the assailant.

"What is going on down there?" Asaka asked, as he and 9 still tried to retrieve the artefact. "9, go check what's happening. I'll keep working on this damn safe but come back immediately "

9 nodded and left the principal's office. While Asaka thought to himself.

[neither I nor 9's ability worked on his damn safe. What could it be made of?]

Getting to the safe was fairly easy for the pair. 9 set explosive charges where Asaka marked, and blew a hole in the wall but when they tried with the safe, it wouldn't budge.

[I guess I'll have to do this the old fashioned way] Asaka said, cracking his knuckles as he got ready to 'crack' the safe.

As 9 got downstairs, he wondered where 2 was. He looked to his left and saw 7 being strangled. He created a yellowish sphere in his hand but before he could do anything with it, Yashiro moved and stepped in, unleashing a brutal low kick. Similar to the one he used at the flowing fist tournament and it yielded similar results as the kick was twice as powerful.

9 yelled and crumpled to the floor, clutching his now shattered leg.

Shortly after, 7 fell too and Mika let her hair drop. He wasn't dead, just unconscious.

As the students tried to take a break, 2, who had been in the toilet due to belly aches crashed through the floor above, landing in front of both Yashiro and Mika, who both angrily charged at her without hesitation, with anger and desperation written on their faces as their abilities approached their respective limits.

2 grabbed Yashiro's arm as he attempted to punch her and threw him into Mika sending them both crashing into a wall behind. Yashiro immediately got back to his feet and dashed at 2 again, attempting a spin kick.

In his head, he thought his speed would catch her off guard but she simply dodged to the side and smacked the side of his head with the back of her fist, instantly knocking him out.

Just then, Tanori and Sando arrived and Shihata was bleeding out very fast. Tanori crouched and immediately started drawing a rune on the floor and Sando gently moved Minako out of the way. "We've got it from here" He said.

"place her in the rune. Quickly." Tanori said, with urgency in his voice. Sando gently carried her and placed her in the symbol Tanori just drew on the floor and it began glowing.

Sando also superheated flames on his finger and touched the wound on Shihata's chest cauterising her wound as she screamed in pain.

Mika meanwhile was struggling to block and deal with 2's barrage of punches.

Eventually her defence failed and 2 landed a clean hit on Mika's belly, dealing enough damage to leave her clutching her belly on the floor and groaning in pain. She didn't look like she was getting up anytime soon.

Afterwards, Minako, Rani, Tanori and Sando all got to their feet and turned angrily towards 2, who was breathing heavily.

"Oh, give me a break" She said to herself as the 4 students all charged at her.

"Well, that's quite enough" a deep and authoritative voice said as Asaka slowly walked down the stairs. He faced the students and slightly stretched both of his hands towards the students.

They felt a change in the air pressure before they were suddenly flung to the side as Asaka did a spreading motion with his hands.

Minako and Rani went left, while Sando and Tanori went right. Due to the force at which the four of them hit the walls, they were immediately incapacitated.

"That's enough, gather everyone, we are leaving. I've got what we came for" He had wrapped the artefact in a cloth, which he raised for 2 and 9 to see. "These kids really did a number on you guys didn't they?" He looked around, "Where's 5?" As he asked this, Takeyomi appeared in front of the 3 of them. He had heard everything Asaka just said, he looked shocked. His classmates were all on the floor, most of them unconscious but he didn't let that get to him.

He teleported to where Asaka was standing, got a firm grip on the cloth and artefact and disappeared, leaving Asaka and the rest of the group with a blank and dazed expression.

"What just happened?" 2 asked.

"Wasn't 10 meant to contain these damn kids? What is he doing?" 7 added, visibly pissed off "don't tell me he got taken out"

Asaka remained quiet. He was very angry. To add to his troubles, there were now multiple sirens of police cars outside the Academy grounds.

"How are the police here?" 2 asked. "None of the phones are meant to be working"

"we need to leave. Now" commanded Asaka. "Contact 8. Tell her evacuation plan b"

2 tapped on her earpiece and tried to get a hold of 8 but there was no response from her end.

"Somethings wrong. 8 isn't responding and we still don't know where 10 or 5 are"

"We have to leave them" As Asaka said this, 2 grabbed him by his collar. "We aren't leaving anyone, 0. We are a team I'm not one to leave anyone behind."

Asaka remained calm, "this place is going to be swarming with armed police who will undoubtedly shoot first and ask questions later. If you want to be caught in the middle of that, be my guest but with or without you, I'm leaving."

2 let go, realising he was right, then Asaka pointed his hand at the ground just as 5 staggered up the stairs. The sirens had woken him up.

He looked at the kids who were laying helplessly on the floor and was about to touch Minako but was interrupted before he could do so.

"5, don't even think about it" 2 said, "get here now we are leaving"

He exhaled deeply before walking to the group. A huge portion of the floor beneath them broke and they were suddenly being lifted with the rock. To minimise the noise, the now floating rock was forced through the hole that was made when 5 was knocked out of the building. As they got out, they looked to where 8 had parked the van and understood why there wasn't a response when they tried to contact her. They looked around but still couldn't find 10.

Asaka shook his head before raising his hand, causing the large rock to levitate even more and the group made their escape through the air with some officers shooting at them but failing to hit anyone.

While the authorities waited for the teachers to wake up, the students were treated on site in the medical room while Shihata was carefully carried to the hospital because she was in critical condition.

Outside the room, the police officers were talking to detective Fuhira who had just arrived at the scene.

"I think they succeeded in their mission. There's an empty safe in the principal's office which I believe contained the artefact." The uniformed officer said

Fuhira scratched his chin. "We'll have to question to principal when he wakes up because it seems like he withheld information. Worst case scenario, he was working with them"

"Also," The uniformed officer said, "we found two of the suspects unconscious and we've apprehended them"

Fuhira looked very surprised at hearing this but before he could react, Takeyomi walked up to him.

"I think this is what they came here for" He held out his hand, showing the cloth covered artefact.

Fuhira could not contain how impressed and happy he was as Fukuma handed it to him.

Smiling widely, he said, "2 suspects incapacitated while preventing them from accomplishing their goal. You kids are beyond impressive"
