The Order of Blight

The next morning, at about 8 most of the students had just woken up and were going about their usual routines.

Some went to the gym, while some others stayed in bed on their phones, others were still asleep and a very small number of them were already studying.

By 10am, the students recieved emails telling them that the start of their combat training session had been postponed. Most of the students weren't entirely happy reading this, as they were excited for the Friday training sessions.

The email came because the teachers and members of staff had slightly more serious matters to attend to.

Asaka Yorihisa scheduled a meeting with principal Fujimoto and his staff team. Takari and Fujimoto instantly connected it to his search for the artefact but they complied anyway.

Asaka did a headcount. After every single member of staff;except the security team was in the staff room, he started speaking.

"Good morning ladies and gents. So as to not waste your time and mine, I'll get straight to the point...".

As he said that, all the power in the building went out which alarmed everyone in the Academy, including the students, as this had not happened before.

Asaka continued speaking as the teachers and staff members checked monitors to see if the security cameras picked up on anything but nothing was working.

"Please calm down, I'm sure the power will be back in no time but as I was saying, I recently came forward to your principal with a preposition. I told him to let me search for the missing fragment, but he refused to let me." He paused for a few seconds.

"If he did, this wouldn't have had to happen " The teachers were confused as to what he meant by this until 5 walked in with both his arms as mini-guns. He was also wearing a gas mask.

"What is the meaning of this Mr Yorihisa?" asked principal Fujimoto as everyone in the room instinctively raised their hands defensively.

Asaka ignored the question.

With a wild grin on his face, 5 said, "please, can someone try to be a hero? Give me a valid reason to shred everyone in this room"

As a few more people who were all wearing gas masks too entered the staff room, standing behind Asaka and 5, Asaka dropped three 'knock out gas' canisters in the middle of the room and then spoke again before putting on his mask.

"Allow me to properly introduce myself. I'm Agent 0, and we are..." He paused for effect,"the order of Blight"

THE NIGHT BEFORE

"Yeah, I found it. It's in the principals office...We're going with plan B"

1 acknowledged this as soon as Asaka said this and placed his radio back in his pocket.

"Alright everyone" He said, "0's given the word. We are implementing plan B"

"why not plan A?" 2 asked

"He won't be able to get the last piece out without making too much noise or arousing suspicion. So plan B it is", 2 nodded, and 1 continued speaking.

"We know the plan, but I'll go over it again just so everyone is certain of what has to be done. 7 knocks out the electricity in the compound. All the adults at the Academy should be in the staff room by the time you get there. Knock out gas is to be thrown in the room till they're unconscious.

Obviously you're going to be in a room full of powered adults who may retaliate, so we need to find a way to subdue them while the gas does its work. 5, that's where you come in."

2's face was screwed up as she heard this. "1, with all due respect, I don't think 5 should come on this mission." 5, laughing as usual, responded. "What's your problem with me 2?"

A question which she ignored as she continued to speak.

This is by far the most important one we've had and I fear his violent and bloodthirsty nature would jeopardise this mission"

"I agree with 2" 3 said, "he's too trigger happy and that's the last thing this mission needs. 10 could subdue a crowd just as well"

1 finally responded, "I understand your fears but the plan has already been made and changing it now wouldn't be advisable. Besides, I think you're forgetting who helped saved your ass at a detriment to his own health, when things got sticky last time." Everyone remained silent.

"As I was saying, after the adults are asleep, 10 will keep the kids in their dorms. 0 and 9 will extract the artefact, 8 will get us out of there once everything is done. 2, I need you revved up for this mission. Incase any of the teachers decide to wake up early and just like that, we'll have the final piece with minimal effort. Any questions?"

They all shook their heads as they were all in agreement that it was a fairly reasonable plan.

PRESENT DAY

Due to the fact that she stayed up late the night before, Mika woke up pretty late, at roughly 9:30am. She freshened up and sat on her bed for several minutes meditating. Comforted by the fact that the sessions on Fridays were optional.

She suddenly remembered her conversation with Hirowa from the previous day and realised she still had not spoken to him regarding the incident at the cafeteria.

She groaned, got out of bed, brushed her teeth and washed her face and then made her way to the staff room to see Hirowa and speak to him about it.

On her way to the main building, she noticed that the men and women that had been patrolling the Academy grounds were no where to be seen, but she thought nothing of it.

As she stepped into the building, she also noticed the electricity was out. Her curiosity got the better of her and she picked up the pace. She could feel that something was slightly wrong but wasn't sure what.

When she got closer to the staff room, she tried as much as possible to conceal her presence. She heard voices but decided to crouch and look through the see through panel outside the room.

She was extremely shocked to see her teachers being held at gun point.

She immediately backed away and silently retreated and as soon as she was out of the main building, she tried to call the police but it appeared that her phone had somehow been fried. So she sprinted back to the dorm.

On her way there she realised she didn't actually know what to say or how to get everyone's attention. However, Rando and Chino both came to her mind. She realised Rando would be much better at coming up with a plan, so she ended up in front of his room, breathing slightly heavily.

She knocked frantically on his door and he opened in a matter of seconds.

He was very surprised to see Mika standing outside his room. "Mika?" He said, then noticed she had a concerned look on her face "Hey what's wrong?"

"The school is under attack"

A few minutes later all the students were out of their rooms and in the halls.

"Mika, tell them what you told me"

She looked around the room as all eyes were on her but for once, it wasn't for negative reasons. She spoke loud enough for everyone to hear, for most people, it was their first time hearing her voice.

"The teachers are being held at gun point in the staff room. There are about 5 people in there with them and one of them has miniguns for arms. I'm not sure if the rest of them are armed. Also, the security team is no where to be seen. I assume they're unconscious somewhere"

"Is this related to the power going out?And our phones not working? "Koda asked.

Mika nodded, "I think so".

"I was wondering why everyone's phones simultaneously stopped working"

Rando took over and addressed everyone there. "So the big question is; What do we do?"

Yashiro looked around the room, most of the students looked slightly nervous.

"We need to find a way to contact the police" Yashiro said. "Hayasato do you think you could help with that?"

"I would, but I haven't been to the police station so I can't open a portal there but I can open one to the city and make my way there"

"I'll come with you and as soon as we notify them, I'll head back" Takeyomi said, right before they noticed a dome covering the entire building.

They rushed downstairs to the entrance so they could get a better view of what was going on.

As they got to the doors, they noticed a young man standing outside with his arms folded, outside the dome. He had a gas mask covering his face.

Rando looked around him. "It looks like some sort of barrier meant to keep us in here"

Sando smiled, "that means they do not plan on hurting us"

"I agree with Sando. We can use that to our advantage" Yashiro added.

"I think we should stay put and wait" Fukuma said, "if any of us get hurt, the teachers are the ones who would be held accountable."

A lot of students agreed with him and shared his thoughts. So the hallway remained quiet for a few seconds before Yashiro spoke.

"Fukuma, you're right. However it's a risk I'm willing to take. I can't sit here and do nothing knowing our teachers are in trouble. If I go there and everyone is heavily armed, I'll simply return."

"Besides", Rando added, "he's not going to be alone." Mika, Rani, Shihata, Sando and a couple of others all nodded, agreeing with Rando as they walked towards him.

"Well, good luck guys. Don't do anything stupid" Fukuma said, "I'll be heading back to my room now."

As he left, a couple of others who were on the same page as him followed.

Yashiro looked around the room before speaking, "There are 2 things we need to do. First, we have to disable the barrier, and then contact the police before going to the main building."

"Any ideas?" Rani asked.

Takeyomi looked at a fire extinguisher, then at the man standing outside before smiling. He pulled the extinguisher off the wall, walked to the entrance and stared at the man for a few seconds before teleporting behind him and smacking the back of his head with the extinguisher, hard enough to knock him out instantly.

"that works I guess" Rando said, with an expression on his face suggesting he was impressed.

"We'll handle the unconscious man" Tanori said, looking over at Sando who groaned because he obviously wanted to go to the main building as he felt that's where the action was.

Hayasato struggled but managed to opened a portal big enough to walk through. His powers hadn't fully recovered from Thursday's training session "Takeyomi, we need to go"

The pair sprinted through the portal which closed behind them.

They appeared in the city centre and immediately started jogging. Looking for any signs that pointed towards the police station.

Takeyomi looked over his shoulder, "When we find it I'll leave all the talking to you Hayasato, I'll head back to the Academy immediately after"

Hayasato nodded.

After asking for directions, they were told that the station was roughly 15 minutes away.

They were so determined to get to the station as quickly as possible that it didn't occur to them to ask for a phone so they could call the police instead and save time.

So they started sprinting and got to the station about 6 minutes later. Takeyomi teleported back while Hayasato explained the situation to the officers. He tried to open a portal large enough to take him and a bunch of the officers but his nose started bleeding. He had overused his powers so he got in a car with the officers instead. Who notified captain Imahaya on the matter and other officers who were stationed closer to the Academy.

Dota and the rest of the students who were planning on storming the main building walked towards the building and tried to formulate a plan. They eventually agreed that freeing the teachers was the main priority and they'd run away after.

Dota raised his hands and spoke.

"Everyone stay behind me please. There's a move I've been working on but it still needs some work"

After everyone stood behind him, he placed two fingers on his forehead and greatly manipulated the air several hundred metres in front of him. A move he named "spacial awareness". (An ability where Dota is able to feel distortions in the air within the field he's manipulating. It helps him know how far enemies are from him and gives him a vague idea of what they're doing. However, it takes a lot out of him)

After several seconds, he spoke again. "There are 5 of them in the building, none of them seem to have weapons on them. I don't know if this is related but there's another one in what I assume is a vehicle about 200 hundred metres that way behind the cover of trees " He pointed in front of him towards the left as he said this.

The students were astonished.

"Dota, that was amazing" Minako praised, "how did you do that?"

"I'll explain it later but for now, we need to move"

Koda placed his hand on Dota's shoulder "Dota let's take care of the one in the vehicle. We can sneak up on them while the rest try to free the teachers."

"Good plan" said Rando, slamming his fists together

"guys, be careful" Rani added

Dota and Koda nodded as the students split into two groups.

The pair slowly made their way towards the position the vehicle was in. They walked side by side as Dota manipulated the air around their feet so their footsteps would be inaudible.

Koda noticed that Dota was breathing heavily and sweating. He thought to himself, [he's pushing himself really hard. Training must've taken a lot out of him yesterday. Hang in there!"

As they got close, they noticed it was a van. Their hearts beating fast as they realised they were about to confront an adult.

"We need to get them out of the car" Koda said, quietly

"I have a plan. It may not work but we need to work together. I'll cause a disturbance and if they come out, immediately use your 'rock prison' move to prevent them from moving, but leave their head out so we can knock them unconscious"

Koda nodded in response and with all the strength left in him, Dota raised his hands and disrupted the air around the van, causing it to sway violently from side to side.

Soon enough, 8 got out of the van to investigate what was going on and as soon as her feet touched the ground, Koda stamped his foot on the ground and used a new, improved and modified version of his rock prison. Trapping her where she stood in a pyramid of rock that stopped at her neck. Her eye's widened but before she could say or do anything, Dota viciously punched the side of her head and knocked her out.

Koda laughed in triumphant disbelief. "We did it Dota"

Dota raised his thumb, smiled and then slumped to the ground, breathing heavily.
