Entrance examination (part 5)

GROUP 4

[I wonder what kind of teacher Zuno Shisuki is.] Rani thought, as she looked at her teammates while the woman on the megaphone told them to get ready [Everyone seems ready, but man I'm nervous. This really is the final stage. Can't afford to mess up now]

"Guys we haven't really said anything to each other, shouldn't we be making a plan?" She said

"we don't need a plan" Igayo Shoji said, "with the both of us here, we have pretty much passed. They made a mistake putting us together" He put his hand on his brother, Okagami Shoji's shoulder, who immediately spoke up with a smile on his face.

"Sit back and enjoy the show" They both started walking forward.

Rani looked at other two teammates who were just as concerned and confused.

"Well, the three of us could still come up with a plan." Hirase Raga (Tremors - He creates powerful Tremors strong enough to cause minor earthquakes. He needs a medium to do so) said, "I'm Hirase"

"I'm Rani" Rani recognised him from the flowing fist tournament but was not surprised to see him.

"hey, I'm Minako. What do you suggest"

"I have no clue" He replied, "we need to know what his power is first"

"Do you think those guys can win?" Rani asked.

"Not a chance, Minako said "they may last a few minutes but I don't think they are even going to come close to winning. Rani, you saw what Mr Hirowa did to that student in the medical ward. If we assume that all teachers are that stromg then those guys are gonna lose "

"Actually, they might have a chance " Hirase said,"I've seen those guys fight before. Their teamwork is unbelievable. One devotes himself to attacking while the other remotely defends. It's very efficient"

Rani looked at the brothers again as the signal was given for their group to begin.

Okagami (shield creation- he can create energy Shields of any kind within a 60 metre radius) and Igayo ( Energy weapons - he can create any type of melee weapon from energy) sprinted forward immediately while talking. "Same plan as usual Gayo, you attack and I support you from behind "

Igayo nodded. They ran side by side with a small space Inbetween them.

As they got closer Zuno, Okagami said to himself, "here we go"

Igayo was about to create a weapon when Zuno suddenly appeared in the gap that was between the two brothers and placed his hands on their shoulders. This happened at a speed none of the students could comprehend.

Their eyes widened in complete shock but they didn't get to react before Zuno sent a bolt of lightning down their bodies, instantly knocking them out.

"Charging at your opponents before you know their ability, this is where overconfidence gets you" He said, as he looked forward to the remaining 3 students, who looked frightened. "Now then. Let's finish this quickly"

"guys get behind me" Hirase said, "we could still get past this if we have a pla-"

Before he could finish, Zuno appeared right in front of him.

He was slightly taller than Hirase was. Just like Hirowa, he had on a stylish black suit with a white shirt and black tie, but no sun glasses.

He covered his hand with electricity and touched his shoulder.

Hirase grit his teeth,grabbed Zuno's arm and punched him in the head, using his powers as he did so, which sent a wave of Tremors to Zuno's skull and brain, completely stunning him.

He fell on one knee, holding his head and groaning.

The three of them shuffled backwards as soon as this happened.

"My power is the ability to create Tremors. I'm pretty used to vibrations because of my own ability " Hirase said, with a very confident smile on his face.

Rani now realised why Rando's arms had been fractured during the previous tournament.

She quickly moved forward and released a pinkish gas from her hand and directed it towards Zuno. As she covered his body with it, he coughed and jumped backwards but before he landed, Minako created a thin sheet of ice on the ground which caused him to slip and fall back down.

The students now took offensive stances and were much more confident seeing their teacher on the floor.

"He can't move as quick now because he's got no footing" Minako said, as Zuno slowly got back to his feet.

Hirase thinking to himself [one more hit solid hit should give us the win. He's dazed right now so this is my chance] lunged at Zuno with the intention of punching him in the head again.

"Aren't you underestimating me a bit too much " Zuno said with an angry tone and grabbed Hirase by the head with one hand and slammed him into the ice below, breaking it. He increased the amount of electricity this time and covered his hand with it again, this time Knocking Hirase out. The girls began to back away again, Rani told Minako something and then she began to create multiple spikes out of ice, then she shot them towards Zuno.

Most of the ice on the ground was broken so evading was slightly easier for him.

She carried this on for about 45 seconds until Zuno pointed a finger at her while still evading her Ice spikes.

He released a lightning bolt from his finger that hit her and knocked her to the ground.

As he focused his attention on Rani, his vision became very blurry. Rani continued to back away.

Just like he did with Minako, he charged a bolt in his hand and pointed a finger at Rani.

However, as he was about the release the bolt, he suddenly fell face first on the ground, unconscious.

Rani breathed a sigh of relief.

[That took longer than I thought it would]

She walked over to Minako.

"Hey, you okay? Can you walk?"

Minako groaned, "I think I can manage"

Rani helped her up and put Minakos arm around her neck for support and they slowly walked to the exit gate.

"That was a really smart idea Rani. Making him run around so the poison spread faster"

Rani laughed cheerfully, "it was nothing really. You're the one who was able to keep him at bay. Hirase did really well too"

"yeah, you're right. I don't know how he was able to withstand that amount of electricity"

As they crossed, they heard an announcement which brought them even more relief. "Two students across the exit gate, Group 4 passes. Please see the doctor if you're injured, otherwise stay in the waiting area"

Rani and Minako smiled and hugged each other.

"we did it" Minako said triumphantly

GROUP 5

Tanori sat under the shade of a tree and scratched his chin while the rest of his teammates discussed what plan they were going to carry out.

Takeyomi Dosa spoke up, "firstly guys we need to figure out what his power is otherwise our plan would most likely fail"

"you're right" Chino Doyoka said (Energy beams - She can create lasers or beams of energy from her body, powerful enough to destroy a boulder)

"but how do we do that? " Takeyomi asked

"I think we go as a group" Chino suggested

Tanori finally spoke, "that might be a bad idea. What if his power is well suited with dealing with crowds? Only one of us should go and the rest standby incase backup is needed. After we regroup, we can then create a suitable attack plan."

"That sounds like a good plan Tanori" Rezu said

Chino looked around "based on everyone's powers, and the fact that Takeyomi doesn't want to tell anyone what his powers are, I think either Sezato or I should go "

"I'd prefer it if you went. Ladies first" Sezato said

Takeyomi laughed, "I told you, my powers are a surprise"

Chino shook her head."Any objections?"

They all said no. She took a deep breath and began sprinting towards Takari. As she ran, the rest of the group went closer to a position where they could see what was going on.

Tanori's finger began to glow as he drew a symbol on the ground.

When she got within touching distance of Takari, she suddenly stopped running and stood still.

"What is up with her?" Sezato asked,he was as surprised as the rest of the group "why did she stop moving?"

"your guess is as good as mine" Takeyomi replied.

Chino slowly started walking back towards her teammates.

[Something is wrong] Tanori thought to himself.

Rezu also looked concerned "Hey Chino what's wrong?" She asked.

Before anyone could ask any further questions, Tanori's hunch was confirmed as Chino created multiple energy orbs and launched them at her teammates.

They scrambled.

As soon as this happened, Tanori's finger began to glow again and he quickly drew a symbol on his chest. He moved 3 times faster than normal, dodging all the beams that came his way.

His other teammates hid behind rocks and trees to avoid it.

"Hey Chino. Snap out of it what are you doing? " Sazato said in anger.

She created even more orbs of energy and continued launching

Tanori yelled from where he was, "She's under some sort of trance. I think we have a rough idea of what his powers are now"

Tanori quickly dashed to Sezato "see that symbol I drew on the floor? " Sazato turned his head to see what Tanori was talking about. "I need you to bring Chino towards it and make her stand on it. Can you do that?"

Sezato nodded and went to engage her.

It didn't take long for him to get her to the symbol and as soon as she stepped on it, The rune activated and she couldn't move at all. Tanori held out his hand and told the group to converge on him and relayed a new plan to them.

Takeyomi laughed once more. " You know you would make a great captain Tanori"

Rezu, Takeyomi, and Sezato ran at full speed towards their teacher while Tanori continued to keep Chino in the symbol.

As he saw three students running towards him, he laughed. [Don't underestimate me kids], he thought.

He slowly moved towards them

Rezu broke off broke off from the group and continued towards the exit gate.

"Good luck guys" she quietly said to herself as she continued running.

Takeyomi was the first to get to Takari " Hey old man get ready for a beat down. "

He jumped towards Takari with a high kick, which was evaded easily. However, before Takeyomi landed, Takari reached back and grabbed him back the collar and then threw him at Sezato.

Though Sezato saw this coming, he wasn't able to move out of the way fast enough so the boys collided and fell to the ground.

"Try again" Takari said, and crossed his arms"you don't want to lose to an old man now, do you?"

Takeyomi chuckled and sprung to his feet, attacking again. Sezato joined him this time so they attacked together but a few seconds later, they were on the floor again after Takari made their heads collide.

Meanwhile, Tanori struggled to keep Chino still as blood ran down one nostril.

[I wasn't meant to hold anyone in place this long. The plan was to trap the teacher till two people finished. I don't know how much longer I can hold her here]

"You guys are going through all this trouble but only one of you has crossed the exit gate. How do you plan on solving this when you can't even get past me "

Takeyomi made sure Rezu had crossed the gate before getting back up and laughing.

"You sure about that old man?" He had a very wild grin across his face.

Takari looked at him thinking [What are you planning kid?] "is this where you show those powers you have both been hiding?"

"yeah, something like that" Takeyomi replied and suddenly disappeared.

Both Takari and Sezato were as befuddled as each other.

"Group 5 passes, two students are across the exit gate. If you're injured, see the Doctor otherwise return to the waiting area"

Takari turned around to see Takeyomi waving at him and Rezu looking at him with surprise on her face aswell.

[A teleporter?] he thought, [clever].

GROUP 6

The students looked at their teacher, Tokiho Rarada, but didn't feel intimidated. He looked very young, had a small frame and wore rounded glasses.

"He doesn't look too tough" Hayasato Tamune said

As she said this, Tokiho held out his hand which had a remote with a red button on it. He pressed it and the students all began to back away because they saw one of the bears from the earlier stages of their examination, multiple wolves and some other creatures begin to move towards them.

"There's so many of them. How are we going to deal with this?" Ubusone Etsuru said, slightly frightened.

"We just have to fend them off " Sakuga Okaseki said, as he turned his arms into blades.

"Damn right" Amaki Boka said, creating a ball of lava in her hands "There's no way I'm failing after coming this far"

The students worked together, ferociously attacking the robots for several minutes. However, the more they attacked, the more robots there were to deal with.

"There's just no end to them " Ubusone said, breathing extremely heavily.

Hayasato looked around, trying to make a decision while thinking [I don't have enough time to concentrate and create a portal, otherwise this would be so easy. I shouldn't have underestimated him] "Sakuga, let's make a run for the exit gate. Amaki, cover us"

They did as he said but as he and Sakuga made a run for the gate, the bear pounced and hit Sakuga then stood in front of the pair snarling.

He looked over to see why Amaki didn't cover them and was shocked to see her surrounded by wolves.

He looked around again and his other two teammates were also struggling as well. Sakuga wasn't getting up either.

[Are we really going to fail?] he thought to himself.

A few minutes later, they were all on the ground breathing heavily and looking defeated. The robots began to fall back towards Tokiho just as an announcement went out "Team 6 immobilised. All students fail. Please see the doctor. That concludes the final part of the examination. Well done students"

Amaki began to cry.

Groups 2 and 6 were last to get to the waiting area after seeing the doctor. They all had the same expressions on their faces as they had all failed.

Aibuto scoffed. "Why make us go to the waiting area with everyone else who passed? Just send us home already" He said to himself.

Rani spotted Yashiro and Rando sitting on one of the benches, laughing and excitedly went to join them. They talked for a few minutes about their encounters with the teachers, Yashiro brought up the fact that his teacher was the same person who gave the introduction at the flowing fist tournament.

"speaking of the tournament" Rani said, "Hirase was in my group. I now understand why your arms were fractured. His power is to create tremors. He probably sent multiple tremors into ur arms when you were blocking"

Rando laughed, "That bastard. By the way guys you wouldn't believe who was on my team."

"Who?" They both asked.

"Mika"

Yashiro and Rani but look surprised but before they could say anything, Shihata joined them and Rando remembered something. He waited for her to settle down before speaking.

"Hey Shihata, there's something I've been meaning to ask you. Why did you come here today? I mean Why do the entrance exam if you already passed?"

She smiled, "I feel like that win was handed to me. I know you guys said I deserved it but I wanted to make sure I would've gotten in even without that certificate"

They all smiled at her.

The woman who had been announcing the who had passed or failed, Kibe Sayokiko, came out in front of all the students and began speaking again.

"congratulations on completing the entrance exam everyone, i will now display on this screen those who have passed and those who have failed."

On a screen behind her, the names of students who passed appeared in alphabetical order.

Aibuto was shocked. There were mixed feelings among the other students.

"We passed. Why are our names not there?" Okagami said to his brother Igayo.

Kibe spoke again "Now I'm sure some of you are wondering why your names are or aren't on the list. Allow me to explain. Although it was a group battle, you were graded individually. Which means even if your team passed, you could fail if you were graded poorly.

In group one, everyone passed, well done. In group 2, although you failed as a group, Aibuto and Takegai showed incredible levels of bravery and courage, taking on a teacher by themselves as their teammates hid. So they passed.

In group 3, you managed to find a way past your teacher and every one passed. Group 4 passed, but two students went out on their own with no plan and got knocked out, putting their team at risk. This resulted in their failures despite the team win. In group 5 everyone passed because each student followed the plan that was made and showed great improvisation skills after things went sour. In group 6, the team failed but it would've been an even worse failure had Hayasato not been there commanding the team. Which granted him his win. With that, I'll say congratulations to the 21 students who passed. You may all return to the coaches now." As she said this, she created a translocating door out of nothing and told them all to go through.

Most students celebrated while some more cried as they walked through. As soon as the students were transported back to the building where they had their written exams, via the door, Kibe went back to the medics hut where all the teachers were gathered.

She walked in to them laughing at Zuno.

"How the hell did you get knocked out by a Student? " Izume asked, laughing hysterically

"Don't act like you were unscathed Ichisuda " Hirime said, and put her hand against the part of his head that Yashiro kicked. "You took a pretty hard hit yourself"

As they continued talking and laughing, the principal walked in.

"So what do you guys think of this year's batch of students?"

Kibe answered,"They're showing a lot of promise. Especially these guys."

On a screen in front of the teachers were the faces of 7 students.

Rando, Yashiro, Rani, Shihata, Minako, Hayasato and Tanori
