Entrance examination (Part 4)

GROUP 2

Izume Jokira, the teacher assigned to group 2 laughed as the five students she was against cowered behind a large boulder.

She held a large pistol in one hand, showing off her well toned arms in a black short sleeved t-shirt, with her other hand by her side.

The gun she held had smoke coming out of it and she Yelled, "are you guys going to hide behind that rock all day?" She fired the gun at the boulder they were all behind. They flinched as bits of rock broke off.

"You have an exam to pass do you not?" She said, with a big smile on her face.

Meanwhile, The other members of staff watching the events before them in a screening room, like the vice principal and some other teachers talked amongst themselves as they noticed Izume's group.

"I feel sorry for those students" said the vice principal, Hoshi Tadiro "Izume has caused a numerous amount of students to fail this stage"

"I'm still confused at to what her power is" another teacher in the room said.

Hoshi continued, "she manipulates explosions, that's simply it but that being said, she can take out a whole building with a grenade or two

Or make a pistol have the firepower of a sniper rifle"

"damn, that's scary"

Hoshi laughed at this response. "You're fairly new here so I don't expect you to know but everyone is terrified of her"

Still pinned behind the boulder, Aibuto thought to himself, [how the fuck do I get out of this mess?

I need to figure something out]

His thought process was interrupted by a tap on his shoulder. He looked to his right to see a boy smiling at him.

"Hi, I'm Takegai Hageru"

"The name's Aibuto. How can you be smiling in a scenario like this? We are about to fail. We have like 5 minutes to get past that crazy woman"

"This boulder isn't going to hold up much any longer and those three over there aren't going to be of any use " He pointed to the other three students in his group who were all cowering and too scared to move. Takegai continued, "I know you want to make it out of this too so let's make a plan."

"What do you suggest?"

"We have to try and take her on. I peeked just now, and it appears she's using a desert eagle. She's also shooting at 3 second intervals."

Aibuto scratched his chin, "I don't think a desert eagle is powerful enough to put that sort of a hole in a tree"

Takegai looked over to the tree in question. There was a chunk of the tree missing from where a bullet had hit it.

"You're right, but I think it's got modified bullets or that tree is just there to scare us because if you really think about it, there's no way they'd shoot a student. Right?"

Aibuto picked up a rock and threw it upwards, about half a second later, there was a gunshot, and the rock shattered, followed by Izume speaking

"okay, enough of this now. I'm coming over there"

"we need a plan, right now" Takegai said.

After they spent a few seconds discussing what their powers were, they formulated a makeshift plan. Izume had started coming closer to them, shooting as she did so. After each shot landed on the boulder, Aibuto and Takegai counted, while their teammates continued to panic. Each shot was louder and more fierce than the previous one and she slowly closed the distance.

She was about 20 metres away after she fired the seventh shot, Takegai made himself invisible and ran out towards her.

As he did this, Aibuto picked up a rock and activated his ability, turning his skin into the rock he was holding.

He came out from the left side of the boulder and threw the rock in his hand at Izume. She ducked and fired her gun at him but it was empty.

Seeing as her attention was turned towards someone else, Takegai attempted a punch, which she easily dodged.

"You may be invisible," she said,"but you're too noisy." As she said this, She kicked him in his stomach with her shin, the force of it temporarily lifted him off the floor.

As he landed, he coughed multiple times while holding his belly.

She turned back around, just in time for Aibuto to smack the gun out of her hand. He attempted to folllow up with a punch but she deflected it with one hand and punched him in the head with the other.

Despite the fact that his skin at that point was made of rock. The punch was powerful enough to knock him to the ground. She looked over to Takegai, but she couldn't see him anymore. She smiled.

Aibuto put his hand in his pocket and stood back up. She heard him get up and turned focused attention on him again.

He ran at her again, with his fists bunched she dashed at him and punched him again but as the punch was about to land, he activated his power again, making his skin turn to steel.

She hit him and immediately winced, he capitalised on this and jumped forwards towards, grabbing her by the neck and driving his head into hers.

The screw he was holding in his hand fell and as soon as she hit the floor, he sprinted at full speed towards the exit gate, deactivating his ability in the process so he could go faster.

"Hey Takegai let's go" He said, in a very loud voice as he ran. As Aibuto said this, he made himself visible.

Takegai was already in front of him but Aibuto quickly caught up because of the kick he had revieved to his stomach earlier.

"That really didn't go according to plan" Takegai said, as they both laughed.

About 10 metres from the exit point, there were 3 gunshots and Aibuto dropped to the floor, in visible pain.

Izume had shot him in the lower back and in his legs. However, she manipulated the shot so it wouldn't penetrate his skin but made it powerful enough to leave an instant bruise and damage muscle.

Takegai turned around in shock, just as two shots hit his chest and thigh. He too fell to the floor.

"Did you really think I only carried one gun with me "she said, with a wild smile as blood trickled down her face from the spot where Aibuto headbutted her.

A few seconds later, a voice came from the megaphone.

"No students are past the exit point. Group 2 fails. Please make your way to the medics hut or the waiting area"

Aibuto turned on his back, his facial expression a mixture of disappoint and anger

[so this is it. I failed] he thought.

GROUP 3

As soon as the signal was given, they all ran side by side towards Ichisuda until he was within sight. As soon as they saw him, Koda crouched and Sando charged a fireball in both hands.

"Let's do this guys" Koda said, "Rock Prison"

As he said this, Ichisuda noticed rumbling beneath his feet but before he could react, rock walls enveloped him, forming a cube.

The students sprinted forward in the hopes of running right past Ichisuda.

While trapped in Koda's prison, Ichisuda laughed as he listened for their footsteps. When they were close enough, he took off his pinky ring and put it in his pocket, squatted a little while pulling one arm backwards while the other was stretched out in front of him. With he single punch, he easily broke through the prison.

As they saw the walls break, the students stopped running. Immediately after, with great speed, Ichisuda punched Yashiro, who was slightly in front of the group.

Although in the last second, Yashiro raised his arms to block, the punch sent him crashing into a tree that was over 50 metres away.

[Crap, did I overdo it?] Ichisuda thought.

The students were all stunned at how fast and powerful he was but Sando reacted quick. He combined both of the fireballs in his hands into a much bigger one and sent it in Ichisuda's direction.

Ichisuda inhaled and punched the fireball, causing enough wind pressure to dissipate the flames.

Realising they had grossly underestimated their teacher, Koda crouched again and put a 10 metre high rock wall between his team and Ichisuda and shouted for them to run back and regroup.

They got back to see Yashiro still on the ground by the tree he hit trying to catch his breath.

"What the actual shit was that? He's an absolute monster" Fukuma said. Shihata walked over to Yashiro, "hey, are you okay?"

"Yeah", he groaned, "I'm just a bit winded that's all"

"Guys, we need a new plan" Fukuma said, and before anyone could respond, they heard a voice coming from above them.

"Pardon the intrusion" Ichisuda said, as he landed hard on his feet behind the students.

[That wall was very high. How did he get here?] Koda thought.

Sando attempted to throw another fireball but Ichisuda was too quick, he dashed towards Sando and punched him in the belly, causing him to fly several metres.

He immediately moved to Koda and did the same. Koda landed where Shihata was.

Knowing he was next, Fukuma prepared himself and took a deep breath, and as Ichisuda appeared in front of him, he threw dirt in his face and attempted to punch him in his face.

With his eyes closed, Ichisuda shifted to the side and drove his knee into Fukuma's belly, lifting him off the floor and causing him to crumple to the ground.

He took a few seconds to wipe the dirt from his face and eyes. He looked at Fukuma, thinking [did he manage to successfully time how long it would take for me to get to him? Impressive]

He turned and faced Shihata and Yashiro and immediately jumped backwards to avoid a flame attack from Sando.

Seeing this, Koda struggled to his feet so he could back Sando up and Shihata grabbed his hand and her eyes glowed. She got up and whispered something in his ears. He nodded and ran towards Ichisuda just as he sent Sando flying again.

Seeing another student charge at him Ichisuda smiled and thought to himself [maybe I'll use more power this time]

He closed the distance between them quickly and threw another punch aimed at the stomach but to his surprise, Koda dodged this, as if he knew a punch was coming and immediately sent diagonal pillars of rocks from the ground into Ichisuda's chest that sent him crashing into the high wall he previously created.

Yashiro finally stood and spoke.

"We didn't make it this far just to fail. Koda, please put the wall down. I have a plan, but I need you and Sando to keep Mr Ichisuda occupied, only for a few seconds."

"I'm going too" Fukuma said, clutching his stomach as he struggled to his feet.

He waited for them to acknowledge this before continuing. "Shihata get on my back please, if you don't mind"

She did so quickly, Koda put down the wall and he Sando, and Fukuma, who had picked up a stick ran forward to engage Ichisuda.

With Shihata on his back, Yashiro crouched with one leg behind for support just as he did when he tried to escape the bears with Minako, and increased the size of the muscles in his legs again, specifically his calf muscles.

He told Shihata what he planned to do and asked her to activate her powers and tell him in detail what happens when he did what he was planning.

"at roughly 60 metres, or 2 seconds after you shoot off, you land, Mr Ichisuda leaves those three and charges in front of you from your left side and then swings the back of his right arm into your chest."

Yashiro laughed, "damn he really doesn't hold back. In that case, at roughly 1.5 seconds, let go of my chest"

She nodded.

Yashiro waited until the other three had engaged Ichisuda then took a deep breath and shot himself forwards. He moved so fast that when he went past his teammates and Ichisuda, it felt as though it was windy.

Without any hesitation, Ichisuda went after them.

At 55 metres, as Yashiro was about to land, Shihata let go of his chest and he returned his leg muscles back to their normal size and increased the ones in his arms. At 58 metres, he threw Shihata towards the exit gate with incredible force.

As he landed, he ducked immediately, Ichisuda's arm went over his head. He jumped with his left foot, and increased the size of the muscles in his right leg while simultaneously spinning and landed a brutal kick on the side of Ichisuda's head with enough force to knock him into a tree that was 10 metres away.

Immediately Ichisuda hit the ground, Koda reacted, crouching and touching the ground then emcamping his body in rocks, leaving only his head out.

Sando moved closer, holding a fire ball in his hand and then squatting in front of Ichisuda's face.

"Give me a reason to burn you, sir" He said, with a menacing smile on his face. Fukuma came to join and pointed the Sharp end of his stick at him.

As this was happening, Yashiro was already sprinting to join Shihata who was already across the gate.

Ichisuda thought to himself [if I take off another ring I could get out of this easily and still intercept him. No, That's overkill. It would cause too much damage to these 3.] smiling now, he thought to himself once more [Well done guys].

"2 students across the gate, Group 3 passes. Those injured, go to the Medics hut otherwise head to the waiting area" the voice from the megaphone said.

At this, the 3 boys sat on the floor and breathed a sigh of relief and Shihata gave Yashiro a hug.

"i can't believe we did it." Fukuma said.

"That Yashiro guy was pretty amazing" Koda responded.

Ichisuda broke out of the rock easily and sprung to his feet.

"I'm really impressed guys. Well done. To all of you. It was a really good team effort"
