HoodWinked

What use was it having a knowledge that was useless to you? That was what Myra thought when she found out the truth about the world she lived in. Werewolves, Lycans and Paranormal creatures existed and she was one of them... Yet not one of them. She was born without a wolf side. So more or less she was human except for the slight difference. Little abilities that showed she was not a part of the human race, still... A werewolf without a pack and without a Wolf side? surely Fate has had her Hoodwinked. And that is not the end... Being Chased by bullies she seeks solitude in an abandoned mansion. Abandoned is what it's called but it surely wasn't unoccupied. Therein lies a stranger. Bounded in chains and kept in darkness, he makes a plea and in compassion she frees him from his chain but in return is bound in chains. Hoodwinked by fate she becomes his mate. What fate awaits her here on? More misfortune? How much worse could everything go? *** "A visitor? How delightful" A clear voice rang in from the darkness. Myra shivered and turned. The house was too dark that she couldn't see who has spoken. "who's there? What do you want?" "I should be one asking. You are trespassing" "I didn't mean to. i_i'm just seeking solitude. I'm sorry I'll leave" "Not so fast darling. You are here already, so you can as well help me" She raises a brow "Help you?" Only silence answered. What was she thinking? Talking with the darkness. Perhaps being chased by a few bullies sounded better than this, she should leave. She takes a step backwards but halts again. So much for being weakhearted. "First step into the light" She requested wanting to see who she was talking to. In a world were beasts exist, it wouldn't be so surprising if it ended up being a troll. Sounds of metal rattling echoed in the empty room then followed was the sound of footsteps. It wasn't a troll. it_it's a man. A very Handsome Man!

History would have to repeat itself

Woken up by a horn to her ears the next morning. She almost rolled out of bed in fright. Her heart practically lept out of her body. With a panting headache and furrowed brows, she dragged herself to the window to check who was the idiot blaring his car horn like the judgment day trumpets.

Slid the curtains sideways and pushed the glass window open. The rays of the sun greeted her eyes and so did the beautiful morning glow. Contrary to the disorientating horn of earlier, the birds morning song were soothing and melodious. Totally blending with the sounds of wind ruffling through the leaves on trees. Then again the beautiful melody was once again disrupted by sounds of boisterous laughters. She looked down and there they were.

Her cousin and a group of boys with faces that were familiar to her, she practically saw them every other day in the pack, so she knew who they were.

A judging groan leaves her mouth as she finally roll into the bathroom to quickly freshen up. When she was done, she proceeded downstairs. The boys had moved their playground from outside to inside the house so she met them on her way to the kitchen.

"Hey My" Callous greeted in a dignified tone. Son of the Beta to the Alpha and friends to the Alpha's son, sure enough he regarded the lady his friend had a eye on with respect. Myra glanced at him and couldn't help but roll her eyes.

"Seriously if you're being this respectful when it isn't official, how loyal would you be when it becomes official?" She asked tauntingly before going to fix breakfast for herself.

The Beta chuckled awkwardly and scratched the back of his head. He had no response to give to her question. If truly her marriage to the Alpha's son became official, he would be torn between being more respectful to the real mate than her. Surely Monica would make the situation even more difficult for him.

Gus gave the two of them a curious gaze. "what's official?"

All of them looked at each other. The mood suddenly going stale. The Young men in the room couldn't find a befitting way to tell their friend that his sister had been picked to be a concubine for the future Alpha. Gus had been away this whole time so he had not heard when the announcement was made and no one tried to reach this message to him. Surely Gus would make a huge fuss if he got to know. In their loss, they turned to Myra, hoping she had a better way to tell her brother. Girls always had a better approach to everything than boys.

Myra shook her head hinting there was no need for any of them to mention it. "Something impossible" She said dismissively then poured a glass of milk for herself and picked the freshly toasted bread slices in a plate and walked away.

They watched her leave the room and then the topic was wisely changed to something else. Back in her room. Myra comfortably ate her breakfast while scrolling through her phone. She had no class today as she had taken a two days break from her work thinking she would have been tied up with the audition but now everything ended in as an unprecedented holiday with nothing to do and no where to go.

At the last moment, she made up her mind to visit the Pack house. As much as she hated being amongst these sets of beings whose ego was bigger than their bodies would ever weigh, she had a few reasons to enjoy going there.

She got dressed and prepared to leave. Getting to the sitting room, the boys were also about to leave. Coincidentally they were also heading to the Pack house as they had been summoned by the Alpha.

"let's go" In a tailing convoy they drove out of the premises.

After hours of driving, they finally arrived at the outskirts of the city. In first glance it looked like this was a normal civilized neighbourhood surrounded by woods but it really wasn't. The several houses aligned at the side of the road were owned by core members of the clans. This region of the city was dominated by the Werewolves and only a few stayed in the city, one could not enter into this part of town freely as one wills. You might not be stopped but your every move would be trailed by the Werewolves especially if you were not their clan. They packed by the Beta's house and from there took a hike to the large Mansion built in the heart of the woods. That was the pack's general house where they had meetings or basically just met as a pack.

The place was filled with people as usual. Like Gus and the rest, they were all summoned for an important reason. Surrounding the meeting ground. They all waited till either the Alpha or the Beta comes to address on why they well all summoned. Myra was not left out. She might not be invited to sit with them but she could hang around while they did their meeting. One of the privileges of being the Pack's assistant doctor.

The murmuring and whispering lasted for a couple of minutes and then finally the Alpha and his Beta along with his son walked to the wooden stage.

"Greetings Alpha" all members of the pack bowed in greeting.

"We have all heard about the sightings. At first we thought they were Cambiantes but it is very well confirmed that they are Lycans." Alpha started his speech. Everyone knew what a Cambiante was. A type of Shape shifter that were born as humans with the ability to transform into the form off another Supernatural being without being part of that supernatural group. These pests were as troublesome as one could think. They could start a war between supernatural groups by merely just changing skins. Even still it was easy to identify them. The slimy trials they leave around and dumpings of shed skins give away their presence.

Somehow in all their minds, they hoped it was a Cambiante. At least just a small group of Werewolves could take care of them as they were very weak but a full fledged Lycan?...Things were a lot tougher now.

"Goodness is that the Supreme Alpha is interested in this case and has made announcement of his impending visit. So for the mean time we have to guard our fort by intensifying our surveillance and patrol strategies." He continued saying. Everyone nodded in agreement with the said words. None of them seemed bothered by the fact that the Supreme Alpha was going to be here. As for Myra, she was shaken by the announcement.

Her Nemesis was on his way, How could she not be worried. Supreme Alpha had a miserable history with her kind. No one knew what it was but he was said to be hunting the in-betweeners. If the mere news of her existence reaches his knowing. He would snap her head and crush her bones to powder. That was just how much of hatred he had for her kind.

She was lucky to not have met him when he was here Five years ago because her aunty had sent her to live with a friend on her summer holiday. History would have to replay itself.
