She will do anything to escape her death, including marrying the man that she detested the most. Dayton Katherine, who thought true love, and happiness prevails all things, was led to her doom by that thought. Marrying the man she truly loved was her dream, but it turned out to be a nightmare she never saw coming. On her wedding day, after she lost everything including her position, and wealth, she was murdered by the man she loved dearly. It turned out he deceived her, and made her know that what she thought existed was only a fantasy which deluded her. After being killed, she was granted a second chance– a chance to redeem her mistake. Katherine woke up a day before the day she died. Now, she is desperate to run away from her mysterious fate, but they are bound to happen. For her to escape the fate of dying on her wedding day, and being killed by the man she loved, she decided to marry Jaylen Eric. She wanted to believe all men weren't the same, but she was mistaken. She caught Eric kissing her cousin an hour before their wedding. She had no choice but to marry him in order to protect herself, she is bent on hating the beguiler she got married to. This time, she won't waver for this man, nor will she allow her mind to be clouded by thoughts that will delude her. What if he turns out to be the most supporting, caring, loving, and reliable person she ever met? What if his feelings were genuine towards her? What if he began to make her waver, and her life got endangered? Will she be able to cope with what lies ahead of her? Allow the pressure from her in–laws, cousin, and her fate swallow her? Or come out strong from it? Except; “Do you think you can keep hating me?” His question made Katherine turn to face him. She hesitated before she replied, “Yes, I will never waver for you, Honey.” A teasing smile playing on his lips, Eric took a few steps closer to her. “Wifey, do you think that wall of hatred won't melt down if I try seducing you?” Seeing the determination in his eyes, she can't help but laugh. “Try, and see.” (I will be updating two chapters per day except Sundays.)

Different Her

Katherine's eyes widened in bewilderment. What response could she give? Would she be able to escape death today?

"Oh… wedding?" Those words erupted from her lips as a question.

Asher smirked darkly at her before he walked closer. "Have you forgotten? You asked me to get a loan that you will pay back in two folds… I already did. What is holding you back, Katherine?"

She held back the tears that clustered in her eyes as she heard him inquire as if he truly cared about her.

"I am sorry, I am married. I have no choice," she replied, her voice shaking. "I will pay you back the mon–"

"Do you think I care about the money, Katherine? So you got married to him because of the money and not because your father wanted you to?"

His question interrupted her. She couldn't say a word as all she could do was stare nervously at him.

She did not know what to do; her body was trembling at the thought of being killed again. She wanted to make him regret ever deceiving her, but why was she so afraid to even say a word?

"Katherine! Can't you talk? Do you think I won't find out that you are getting married to Eric?" Asher questioned, then closed the gap between them with his hands on her shoulder.

Staring at the hands that had stabbed her, she felt cold chills and an unknown fear instilled inside her. "I… I… don't… love… you anymore…" She stammered.

"Since you don't love me anymore, I can't help it," he uttered, about to bring out something from his pocket, but the sound of the door being opened made him go into hiding.

Katherine, who thought it was over for her, opened her eyes after waiting for a minute without feeling any pain from a stab.

Her mouth fell open at whom she saw; it was Ethan, her husband's rival.

"Oh… Ethan, is anything the problem?" Katherine asked, pretending to be alright. Even though she was still nervous, she made sure not to reveal it.

Ethan chuckled at her pretending act before he folded his arms across his chest. "Am I not the one who should be asking you that question?"

Her lips parted at his question. "Uh? What did you mean?"

"You did not look okay and you have been in here for the past one hour. Everyone seemed bothered, so I decided to check up on you," he explained with a dark smirk, which made it obvious to Katherine that he knew something.

With the gaze on his face and the way he stared at her, it was either he listened to their conversation or was trying to dig up dirt on her.

She chuckled before uttering, "Oh… no big deal. Just wanted to be alone for a moment."

She headed out of the bride's waiting room. After she arrived at the wedding hall, she sat on the empty chair next to Annabella's. She raised her gaze to stare at her sister before she began. "I am sorry… I didn't mean to stay longer there."

"Katherine, are you sure you are sorry? Or did you intentionally wait in the waiting room to see our reaction? Oh… or to say goodbye to your lover?"

She was hurt by her mother-in-law's words, but she hid it with a faint smile.

"Madam Quinn, it could be any of the three, can't it be, father?" Staring at her father-in-law, Mr. Davis, she inquired.

Mr. Davis burst into laughter at Katherine's teasing. "Of course. It is not a bad thing if it is any of the three."

Hearing that response and how he took Katherine's side instead of condemning her, Madam Quinn got pissed off at him.

She cleared her throat before she began. "Davis, what are you trying to imply? So, your daughter-in-law is officially allowed to see her no-background lover?"

"And who said she can't? Did she bring him to our house, or sneakily meet him outside our house? What she did was only giving her farewell because of good-old times," Eric, who had been silent, finally spoke up in place of his father.

Madam Quinn chuckled at Eric's statement before she reminded him of words he didn't want to hear. "I don't blame you because your mother did the same thing. From a goodbye, the next thing we heard was that she had a child with my husband… I hope hers won't turn out that way."

Eric wanted to react angrily to her words, but paused upon Katherine's response.

"Madam Quinn, you have no right to speak about my mother-in-law like that in front of me. Not even on a day like this," she paused and studied the atmosphere, which suddenly went calm. "I am only being nice to you because of Mr. Davis. Hence, I won't react kindly to those words of yours."

Even though Madam Quinn was furious, she couldn't say a word because she would not only embarrass herself, but her husband and children. She didn't expect Katherine to be the sharp-tongued type.

She thought Eric would stand up and fight her like he usually does, then make a headline out of it.

"Oh… I am just sug–"

"Quinn! Could you just please keep your opinion to yourself, uh?" Mr. Davis scolded her.

Eric, who was amused at how Katherine made Madam Quinn back down easily without causing any trouble, smiled at her before he informed everyone, "Dad, Mr. Maxwell, Avery, Ethan, Madam Quinn, thank you for coming to my wedding. My wife and I will be heading to the house."

"Katherine, don't go now," Ethan's voice made her halt upon standing up and drew the attention of others.

She raised her brow to glance coldly at him. "Why shouldn't we go now? To receive more insults from you and your mother? Or make a headline that will paint my husband in a bad light?" She questioned with anger laced in her voice.

This time, it feels like this is a different her. She suddenly became confident to say whatever she wanted and act as she pleases in front of anyone, but why not Asher?

"Katherine, if you leave here now, you might die. Worse, you might be stab to death," Ethan left after he uttered.

'What is he saying? Is he being delusional or sick? Does he expect me to believe those words of his? Is he into fantasy dramas lately?' She thought before she stood up and headed out with Eric.
