Honey, I Hate You: Married To A Beguiler

She will do anything to escape her death, including marrying the man that she detested the most. Dayton Katherine, who thought true love, and happiness prevails all things, was led to her doom by that thought. Marrying the man she truly loved was her dream, but it turned out to be a nightmare she never saw coming. On her wedding day, after she lost everything including her position, and wealth, she was murdered by the man she loved dearly. It turned out he deceived her, and made her know that what she thought existed was only a fantasy which deluded her. After being killed, she was granted a second chance– a chance to redeem her mistake. Katherine woke up a day before the day she died. Now, she is desperate to run away from her mysterious fate, but they are bound to happen. For her to escape the fate of dying on her wedding day, and being killed by the man she loved, she decided to marry Jaylen Eric. She wanted to believe all men weren't the same, but she was mistaken. She caught Eric kissing her cousin an hour before their wedding. She had no choice but to marry him in order to protect herself, she is bent on hating the beguiler she got married to. This time, she won't waver for this man, nor will she allow her mind to be clouded by thoughts that will delude her. What if he turns out to be the most supporting, caring, loving, and reliable person she ever met? What if his feelings were genuine towards her? What if he began to make her waver, and her life got endangered? Will she be able to cope with what lies ahead of her? Allow the pressure from her in–laws, cousin, and her fate swallow her? Or come out strong from it? Except; “Do you think you can keep hating me?” His question made Katherine turn to face him. She hesitated before she replied, “Yes, I will never waver for you, Honey.” A teasing smile playing on his lips, Eric took a few steps closer to her. “Wifey, do you think that wall of hatred won't melt down if I try seducing you?” Seeing the determination in his eyes, she can't help but laugh. “Try, and see.” (I will be updating two chapters per day except Sundays.)

A Blessing Or Curse?

Katherine, why did you help me? Did you really care about me?" Eric asked, making her pause.

She bit her lip before she replied straight away. "I helped you because I don't want to be the wife of the lowly illegitimate son of Jaylen's family. Either accidentally or officially, you all are Jaylen's."

Eric's pale facial expression lightened up at her words. "Thank you for marrying me. Thank you for not seeing me for who they think I am."

"You shouldn't be thanking me for being truthful; you should be thanking me for being blind enough to marry you because you are a beguiler. You are only deceiving them with this pale look of yours, but I won't fall for it," just when he thought she was about to give a reasonable response to his appreciation, she made a joke out of it.

"Oh… I see, but why did you sound like you care and love me? Or have you suddenly fallen for my handsome face?" He turned her over to face him, their eyes boring holes into each other's hearts, he inquired cutely.

She couldn't help but laugh at how petty he was. "Handsome? Not as handsome as my–"

She paused upon completing her statement. She felt like slapping herself for trying to compare Eric to Asher.

"Not as handsome as what?" Curiosity laced in his voice, he inquired.

"You are not as handsome as my poop. Got it?" She pushed him out of the way before she began walking, leaving Eric to his agony.

'Am I that ugly? How dare she insult the most handsome man in Freeland city? Is she blind? Jeez, I can't believe she actually compared me to her poop. Damn!' he ruffled his neatly combed hair before joining her in the hallway.

Just when they were about to continue walking, a voice drew their attention.

"Katherine, is he the man, who made you stop loving me? He is the man who made you change overnight?"

Hearing Asher's voice again, her eyes widened, reminding her of Ethan's words.

She thought Ethan was just trying to make up a joke or tell a story since that is his specialty, but it turned out it was true.

It now became obvious that she is going to be stabbed to death like before. Was there no way to escape this fate of hers?

"Yes, I am. You must be Asher, right?"

Eric's voice made her snap out of her thoughts, her heart pounding hard in her chest.

Asher glanced at Katherine, who was trembling before he walked up to Eric. "I am Asher. I want my woman back, or I will never let anyone have her, not even you."

Her eyes widened as she stared at Asher in awe. She didn't believe killing her was his motive from the start. He would rather have her dead than watch her live happily with another man.

"Your woman? Have you gone nuts?" Eric chuckled before he tucked his hands in his pocket. "Katherine is my wife and she isn't a 'thing' anyone can just pick up, throw and want back," he uttered calmly.

Provoked by Eric's words, Asher, who couldn't wait to see him dead and Katherine on her knees begging him, walked up to Eric and stabbed him before he walked back to her.

Tears streaming down her eyes, she yelled, making him run away before he could attempt another stab. "Asher, how could you?!"

She fell weakly to the ground as she watched Eric suffer because of her. She did not know whether to be thankful for being given a second chance or to regret living again.

She placed her soft hands on where Eric was stabbed, her gaze glued to him. "Eric, please don't die. I am sorry for making you suffer because of me. Please don't make me a widow on my wedding day. Please," she cried out. She reached out to her phone from her purse before she called for emergency help.

Even though he was in pain, he couldn't help but chuckle at Katherine's behavior. He just can't understand her– this minute she is cold, next she is caring.

"Eric, how could you laugh in this state? Please don't talk and hang in there," she uttered amidst tears.

"I just can't understand you. Anyway, since you badly want me alive, if I did not die, what would you give me?" He questioned with seriousness in his bloodshot eyes, which were filled with tears that threatened to pour down.

Katherine sighed before she replying, "Don't talk about death. I will give you anything you request, just don't die."

"I hope you keep your promise…" That was his last statement before he passed out.

She did not wait for the emergency helpers to arrive before she lifted him onto her back and walked out of the hallway.

Katherine drove him to the nearest hospital, all by herself without caring about the implications behind her actions. All she cared about was making sure her husband did not die because of her.

If she loses Eric, what is the essence of living?– to watch her loved ones die? Or hurt because of her?

"Where is the Doctor? There is an emergency… Please help me. Save my husband," more tears pouring down, she rushed into the hospital then demanded to see the doctor.

After the doctor came out of his office, he assisted his nurse to bring Eric from her car.

"Ma'am, please be patient, and also don't worry, we will try our best," the doctor reassured her before he headed into the operating room.

While the operation was going on, she was spacing around with negative thoughts going on in her mind.

'Heaven, if Eric is going to die, then take back this chance. I did not want it. I did not want anyone to suffer because of my greed and thirst for revenge. Maybe it is my fate to get killed by Asher,' she whimpered.

She knew luck might not find her this time like it always did because her disobedience was the cause of this. Only if she had listened to Ethan, then this wouldn't have happened.
