Runaway wife

Days passed by one after another when I kept spending my time with Arian and Naveah, trying to leave Ethan out of my mind. There wasn't any news about the divorce papers as expected. Neither any news of him looking for me or contacting me.

Within two weeks, I managed to make myself believe it was all a play and it was over.

"What're you thinking?" Naveah Caressed my cheek with the ice-cold glass of coke.

"Nothing much." I reached out for the glass, slowly rubbing my cheek to avoid frostbite with the other hand. All of a sudden, the small table vibrated due to the notification of my phone. I picked it up to see a rejection mail. That was the 4th time. Seeing me sigh in despair, Naveah said, "What are you going to do now? No one is hiring you. Your flight is tomorrow night."

I nodded with anxiety in my mind. Everything was once again misplaced. With my visiting VISA, I couldn't stay in Switzerland. If I went back to the UK, there wasn't much left for me. The lights oozing from the clouds stung my eyes, making my stress go higher.

"Let's go inside."

I glanced at the luggage, packed in the corner of the room, that laid against the wall. Tomorrow would be a new start again. I'll probably have to look for new jobs when I get there.

"Let's go have a party!!!!!!"

With a loud bang, Arian slammed opened the door, and his face beamed from excitement. His sudden appearance startled both of us, and we flinched back with horror in our gaze.

"Can't you come normally?" Naveah looked at him with a frown. Her voice held out her anger since it was truly a surprise. She stood up and her fists were ready to land a hit as Arian reached out for her hand, "Look at this" He held out his phone in front of her, revealing a post containing an image of a beautiful dusky place.

I moved closer to get a clear view, and the decorated line of colorful sparkling glasses caught my sight, "Is this a bar?"

I glanced at Arian to see his smile exposing his front teeth, declaring it was a bar.

"Going to the bar? you guys are married!" I objected.

"technically, it's not a bar. It's similar to it. The party is the main dish. It'll have your mood lighten up too."

Naveah wrapped his arm around my arm, encouraging me to join them. As long as I avoid other men it would be fine- is what I thought until I saw the huge crowd with my own two eyes. Rather than avoiding it, it was even harder to stand still in one place.

"You didn't say it would be this crowded." Naveah's hand reached for Arian's left ear and pulled it recklessly, making him groan in pain, "Argh! How am I supposed to know so many people would come?"

I kept looking for a spot I could use to slip out, and at the end of the time I was able to find one.

It was a way towards the washroom. When I made my way inside the female section, I felt it hard to breathe due to the intense perfume spreading in the air. My head felt dizzy as I wobbled and saw a bunch of girls staring at me from up and down. Their thighs exposed under their short tops and deep lipstick, almost made them look like the side chicks from the evil-plotted stories. After hesitating for a moment, I gradually walked towards the sink for a splash of water until someone's voice from inside the washroom came into my ear. I paused to hear clearly, and my face turned hot hearing the vivid moans from the other side of the door. I covered my mouth to avoid showing my embarrassment and turned around to leave as soon as I could. The immense crowd in front of me felt very unpleasant as I wandered my eyes, searching for my friends but failed. I pulled out my phone from the shiny purse in my hand but it appeared it ran out of battery.

There was no other option left for me to wait outside the bar. As I left with the heels hanging on my hand barefoot, I felt the noise getting further away with every step ahead.

The lake beside the bar caught my attention. I walked towards it and a huge chunk of wind hit my hair, making the loose bun open up as my hair fluttered around my cheeks.

"Breathtaking!!" The familiar voice spoke from behind as I flinched back to look behind me and saw a man walking towards me while his palms hit each other, making the sound of a clap. He halted under the lamp post and stood there basking in the light with his masked appearance in a black suit.

"W-who are you?" My voice quivered. I felt a troupe of anxiety taking over inside of me, fearing that my doubt might be true. His silent lips smirked as he stepped towards me without saying a word. I drew back while holding out my phone that ran out of battery, "You want to get reported?" I tried to bluff with the useless threat seeing him getting closer. Before I could react, I felt myself getting cornered on the railings as he grabbed me by the waist, making me stuck with his body. He reached for the mask and took it off, revealing those light-brown orbs and that piercing gaze, "I've come to take back my runaway wife."
