Chapter One :- Penelope

"Sir, she's here already, we had her start work immediately as per your order" A young man probably in his early 30s informed, walking into the CEO's office. He was dressed a clean simi-rich tuxedo, with clean mustach and a perfectly shaped face.

The president of De'Best cop. lifted his gaze from the documents to stare at his secretary and let out a smile of satisfaction

What could be more amazing/amusing than having your own enemies offer themselves to you to be slaughtered by falling foolishly for your trap.

Hearing the sound of her alarm clock, her huge brown eyes fluttered open as she tried to fight drowsiness

Gradually,she opened her eyes slowly, trying to adjust to the light in her surrounding. Her eyes widened as someone who just saw a million dollar bill when she saw what the time was.

She hurriedly took her bath, and rushed to the hospital to see her mom. It was her first day of work and she was going to be late, what an impression, she thought.

"Wish me luck mom" Penelope said beaming at her mom who was lying almost lifeless on the hospital bed, with an oxygen mask over her nose and mouth

Penelope, a young beautiful girl. She had inky black wavy hair, one-sided dimple, pink and soft lips. She also had small oval face with large brown eyes to compliment her beauty.she had the cutest smile. She was also average in height and light skinned. In fact, she was so beautiful, that she always made heads turn, both male and female. She was drop-dead beautiful.

Even with so much beauty, Penelope had a very kind and gentle personality, she didn't let her beauty make her proud, she was the nicest and kindest of them all, most wished they had her as a daughter, while some wished their son could be with her but Penelope keep turning every man down.

Some envied her beauty, some called her a witch trying to bewitched everyone, while some called her a damsel in distress because of the problems, or rather badlucks as others call it, that followed her.

Penelope was raised by a single mother, who never failed to shower her with the love of both a father and a mother, she made sure that Penelope had no reason to think or feel the pain of not having a father.

But things were never with them, her mother's job was their only source of income. With a lot of bills to pay, and Penelope's tuition, things became too much for her mother. Their landlord drove them out of the apartment because they could no longer pay the rent and even after pleading non stop with him, he refused and only agreed to let them stay if Penelope spent a night with him. Of course, her mother quickly refused which led them to being homeless for about 6days before her mom's sister took them to her home.

The same night they started staying at Penelope's aunt place, her husband tried to have his way with Penelope but she managed to escape and when she reported him, he bluntly denied everything, then her mom's sister became furious and drove them away from her home.

Afterwards, Penelope stopped college because her mom couldn't afford to send her to school, after she got fired.

When they finally got a home to stay, although small but at least, it was something. They were robbed on the 4th night of their stay and when the robbers got nothing from them, they were infuriated that they burned down the whole house, taking them back to square one.

Long story cut short so that I wouldn't bore you with her life story, Penelope's mom got into a fatal accident while selling some snacks at the market, she was rushed to the hospital and luckily the doctors started treatment immediately.

Penelope now had just 30days to pay up the hospital bills in full or 70% installment or they'll stop her mother's treatment.

Her mom was the only one she got, and hell would be a work without her mother with her, she couldn't bare her mom leaving her, not at all and so she went out seeking a job.

But being a college dropout, no company wanted to hire her and the ones that did, offer little payment, that even if she worked there for six months, it won't even be up to 50% of the hospital bills.

She went for an interview at De' Best cooperation, although she knew she didn't stand a chance getting into a company like De' Best cooperation, she didn't know what pushed her into going to seek for a job there. There was no one in the whole of city A that doesn't know about the great and mighty De' Best cooperation, not to forget the mighty, cold hearted yet handsome CEO.

But surprisedly, she was asked to start work the next day, even when they knew she was a dropout and didn't hold any qualifications at all. And her salary was enormous, if she should work there for two months, she'll be able to pay her mother's hospital bills and their debts.
