Chapter Eight

After Lucas dropped me at the gate with a soft kiss to the lips, I said my farewell before typing in the code as he rode off.

I didn't want Lucas to meet my parents the same way I wasn't ready to tell my friends about us going on a date, simply because I wasn't sure what this was.

I made my way inside,I tried to sneak upstairs in other to hide the teddy and my other winnings, but i guess i have finally ran out of luck when i felt the air knocked out of me when Freddi ran to me with speed, I had to placed my hand on the wall to stop us both from tumbling down.

"Hey kiddo." I squeezed him " Missed me.?" I asked sniffling his hair. Dropping the teddy behind me.

"Yes." He mumbled into my clothe, he then looked up at me. "Where have you been?"

"Out." I said before disengaging from the hug."Where is Mum?."

"Out." He sassed.

My eyebrow shot up as i stare at him. He then smile when he saw my teddy.

"Teddy!!" He yelled.

Well i guess he did see it after all. But who wouldn't,it was the size of a child, definitely eye catching.

He ran behind me grabbing the teddy. "Can i have it?" He asked hugging it tightly close to him.

"No." I made to carry it.

"Please...." He begs with a pout.

"That won't work for me." I point to his face. "And besides... it's pink."

"I don't care, it's cute." He stated looking at it.

"Well..." I said thinking. "You can have the other teddy."

"But i want this one." He said turning away from the bag where a white fluffy teddy cat laid amongst other teddies.

"Too bad." I said then grab the teddy from him together with the bag as i made my way to the kitchen.

Hurried footsteps can be heard "Fine..." He breathe sharply. "Give me the teddy cat." He grumbled with a frown on his face. I shake my head with a laugh before giving him the Cat, he muttered a quiet 'Thank you' before running upstairs.

"Kids." I said with a sign shaking my head. That was when i found a styrofoam crates of food on the kitchen counter along with an orange juice, i took up two crates,the ones that had my name on it and opened them to reveal the content, the first crate had a lasagna with roasted chicken and the second crate had a macaroni salad and steam vegetables.

"Thank you Mum." My mouth watered at the sight of the heavenly food and i immediately dug in.

"That brat did not tell me." I grumbled munching happily at the food.

After i knew i was well satisfied and rested i made my way upstairs and towards my room.

I laid on my bed , my mind going back to the date,it was spectacular and Lucas was a great date partner, he went along with whatever ride I choose,though he was afraid of height he still accompany me for the greatest height ride of my life *The Roller Coaster* . Of course with him letting out cries and me happily enjoying my ride,my hands up in the air as I yelled loudly enjoying the breeze that came with the fun of coming down from a high place with speed. After that Lucas had to calm himself cause it seems like he was having a panic attack,so I got him water from one of the stall, And from there we went to a game center where I whooped his ass,all thanks to my brother Freddi for teaching me the way of a game, I won thirty box cause 'why not'.

We then bade goodbye to the 'Fun park' and made our way to the Cinema ,And with popcorns in our hand got into our seat which was the front roll because you know? 'Money.' We watched *Day Shift* I laughed from beginning to end especially when it comes to the main character's partner pissing himself because of fear, and when he told him to stay at the back to air dry. I had to apologize a lot because I kept disturbing others who were watching. I cried when the assistant got bit and when our hero sliced his head off, I curled into Lucas side with him placing a comforting hand around me as he tries to sniffle his laughter, I sent him a glare which made him keep quiet instantly.

I jerked from my seat when the assistant in the movie got up trying to find his head. I giggled happily munching on my popcorn when he faced the hero who had on a surprise look on his face and told him "You cut my head off." With a startle look on his face, And the hero replied with a shock look. "Reflex." It was really a fun date.

Back in my bed, I rolled around with my teddy bear with smiles on my face. Working hard and finally getting something for yourself is really the best feeling.

The door creaks open, I got up from my bed to see dad walking it.

"Hi Pumpkin." He said with a smile and sat beside me on the bed.

"Dad.....you are back." I said happily, giving him a side hug.

"Not for long." He said his arm going round me.

I stepped away looking at him in confusion. "You are going out again?" I asked with a pout.

"We are going out." He stated with a grin.

"We?" I asked in confusion. "Where to?"

"To the office." He said giving me a side glance.

"Dad...." I whined. He knows how much i hated going to the office.

"Don't Dad me." He said with a laugh. "Be ready in five." And with that he left the room.

With a sign, I got up, change my dressing and went downstairs where Dad was waiting with a mug of coffee in his hand, He smiled when he saw me walking towards him and kept the mug on the table before strolling out with me following closely behind with a frown on my head.

'Why now.'

'What are we going to do in his Company?'

Questions like this went on in my head. His office Limousine was park And his driver with a curt bow opened the back seat. I gave a quiet 'Thank you' before sliding inside. I sat facing my Dad While he drank from his favorite bottle of Champagne.

" What some?" Dad asked swirling the bottle in his hand, before opening it. It made a popping sound as foam poured out of the bottle. He grabbed a glass cup then poured drink into the cup and handed it to me before pouring into another glass cup, taking a long sip from it. My Dad went ahead to tell me interesting stories about his staff member. Though i love my Dad i tuned in a deaf ear and glanced toward the window with a soft sign.

After some minute, We arrived at a magnificent building, a skyscraper and "Hernandez inc" written in shinning bold letters.

A cheffeur came towards our Limousine immediately the car came to a halt and then opened the door for us.

My Dad shinning black shoes stepped out first before he came out fully, putting on his dark shade. His hand stretched out to me,which I grabbed unto, letting out a sign and after much pep talk.

The guards that was outside the building bowed their heads immediately they saw Dad approaching them.

I let out a scoff. " Not like he is a god." I murmur following closely beside him, my hand hooked with his.

"Evening Sir." They yelled in unison with a short salute.

He gave a short smile to the guard before entering inside. The once noisy place suddenly became quiet immediately Dad stepped it. Greetings from his staff members echo in the glass like building.

"I hope you all remember my lovely daughter Carman Sophi Hernandez." He stated, his hand pointed towards me with a proud smike on his face, His voice booming . The staffs let out a loud "Yes!!" And some even came forward to shake my hand. I rolled my eyes when i saw a lady adjusting her top to reveal her cleavage. Dad paid no mind, he gave a curt nod and a wave before entering his office. The lady let out a disappointed sign before going about her work. With a smirk on my face,i hurriedly followed Dad into the office. The door closing behind me.
