Considered only cheat

Raena smiled as she opened the book Akaz had given her and discovered it contained instructions on how to use certain magical elements.

"Thank you," She said and he smiled.

"You are welcome kid; are you ready to go?" He asked, and she looked at him before standing up, putting the book in her bag, and hanging it on her back before nodding.

"I still think you should teach her how to use the spell on her own," Drakun said and Akaz sighed.

"Unfortunately, I don't hear certain people after certain hours," Akaz replied as the magic circle appeared beneath his feet.

"I'm serious," Drakun said, but they had already left, and he sighed.

"Sheesh, what am I going to do about this? He is stubborn," Drakun said before going back to work.

After a while, Akaz and Raena appeared by the forest next to the academy and Raena looked at him a bit confused.

"What are we doing here?" She asked.

"If anyone asks you about your family, I hope you give them a good answer; only then will I show my face here; after all, I am well known around here," He responded, and she nodded, understanding his point of view.

He smiled as she walked away, saying, "Got it, bye."

"Bye, take care, and if anything goes wrong, just call out my or Drakun's name," He replied.

"I will," She said then he left.

When she arrived at the academy's gate, she noticed students standing in an orderly fashion by the gate, and everyone was wishing them a good morning once more.

"Good morning," Raena said, drawing their attention to her.

"Good morning, ah, you are the new student the teachers mentioned; we couldn't find where you were living so, here," As one of the girls approached Raena, she handed her a book, which she took, and the girl smiled.

"Check your first class for the day, you guys will get assigned to original classes faster than you think," She said and Raena smiled.

"Thank you," She replied before leaving and opening the book, where she discovered she needed to go to the eastern side of the academy for their first test, which depends on which class they are placed in.

Raena was walking down the corridor when she heard someone call her name, and when she turned around, it was Kyla.

"Kyla," She said.

"Good morning, Raena, how are you doing?" She asked.

"I'm fine; what brings you here?" Raena inquired.

"Well, the funny thing is, newbies or not, we all have to retake the tests, order from the board, because a student can become weak as well as strong, and by retaking the tests every new term, there won't be any mix-up," She responded, and Raena sighed.

"Well, that's understandable; in order for students to learn what they're supposed to, they need to be placed in the right classes, which is why the test is necessary," Raena said, and Kyla nodded.

"Exactly, that's why no one complains, if you get stronger, you gain a rank or get placed in a class within your criteria to up your rank if it's not enough, depends on how strong you are, it's complicated," She responded.

[To put it simply, master, you move within this academy based on your abilities; they decide where to place you when you are either weak, gotten weak, strong, or stronger, and they decide where to place you to improve and raise your ranks not only by strength though. If you are too weak, you can be expelled based on reports; however, if you do not fail in your class more than one time, you may pass the academy; even if your ability is too weak, you could pass using your education, even by only a few points; however, you will not be gaining any ranks sooner you can get stuck to a particular rank despite moving up classes, that's the only cheat.]

"Yeah, I figured that from the start, after hearing about the way things works," She responded.

"Well, Raena, let's see what test we'll have and if we gained any extra strength, you know you can only join the academy at sixteen years old, younger than that goes to normal magical schools, getting to come here will help you in every other educational aspect as well, this academy helps you evolve, the first two years learns things in their levels," Kyla said, and Raena sighed, now fully understanding how everything worked within the academy.

When they arrived at their location, Kyla opened the room door and a green light emitted from within it, and when they looked inside, they saw a group of students among the third years looking at them, and they entered and then closed the door.

"Looks like the weird-haired girl," One of the girls said, and Raena looked at the one who said it and saw a pretty blonde standing in the back and smiled as she turned away.

"Ignore them, despite moving up in years, half of them will end up with lower ranks due to their stupidity and will only depend on education after or only getting stronger to pass the academy, some who started two years ago are still Adept," Kyla said, as some of them laughed and Raena smiled as they stood in a corner.

"Do you know what test they'll have us take, Kyla?" Kyla looked at the girl who asked.

"No, third years are more advanced, things will get more difficult now," She responded, and the girl sighed.

"Are you ready for your first test, Raena?" Kyla inquired.

"I guess so, we'll see," She replied and Kyla patted her on the shoulder.

A man entered the room while they were all chatting.

"Be quiet," He said sternly, and they flinched before falling silent.

"I am your instructor, Iglon, and I want to hear nothing but questions and answers from the bunch of you, you kids talk too much, today your first class will be one most of you got on the first day of your first year here, we need to see how much you have grown, so it will be on Elemental Empowerment, or more commonly known as Elemental Affinity," He said as they exchanged glances.
