Three days had passed since you liberated that village from bandits. And since then, you'd been focusing on idly trying to work on something that Pyrrha had brought up that very night.
Magic.
You had it. Or some of it at least. Pyrrha had taken a sliver of that Maiden Magic. and you had taken an even smaller piece of Cinder's. And the running theory between you two, is that it was because of that magic that she was actually able to stick around and semi reborn inside your mind.
After all, even when you absorbed the aura of those bandits you killed. They didn't appear in your mind, so the magic bullshit was the only viable explanation. Especially since, you also didn't get any semblances or anything from those bandits like you had Pyrrha.
It was, honestly fucking really hard to do. But, you managed to at least, locate the pool of weird tingly energy inside you that Pyrrha had confirmed felt just like the maiden magic she had partly received and then got transferred to you.
"..This is magic?" you couldn't help but utter, voice dripping with pure and utter disappointment.
..You had two glowing auras of orange around your eyes. That was it. And you felt the small pool of energy that you confirmed to be magic rapidly dwindling away.
'It looks just like the aura around Cinder's eyes...but I do confess, I feel rather disappointed myself.' Pyrrha commented.
It wasn't like Ozpin had even told Pyrrha how to go about using the power she was to receive. Even aura had to be manipulated. So, you were kind of up shit creek without a paddle and with no instructions how to go about doing anything with this magic. So far, you'd pulled it out like any basic novice user of aura did. And it gave you the glowing eyes.
..Beyond that, bupkis.
You supposed you could try and mold it into techniques yourself. There were aura techniques like barriers, waves of force and energy slashes and such that could be used. You'd never figured out how to do it, and you honestly only knew how to increase aura through meditation like any other putz that didn't inherit any familial techniques or were taught by special teachers.
'Jaune!' Pyrrha suddenly shouting broke you from your thoughts.
'No I'm Cobalt, remember? I'm way cooler than that guy.' you repliedand huffed in annoyance when the magic energy finally puttered out and your glowy aura eyes died away.
'No, beneath you! It's my friends!' Pyrrha didn't even bother refuting your statement.
Beneath you was practically in your peripherals right now. And you had been more focused on the magic glowy eyes. You angled your head down and lo and behold, she was right.
There was Arc, that Ren guy, the ginger girl Nora who had the best fucking hips in your year by far. You'd dreamed many a times of just grabbing onto those and pounding her silly.
Oh, and there was little Ruby Rose. The prodigy who got in two years early, eclipsing even your own year early. And she was looking mighty fine in her new outfit. She was always cute, now she looked pretty sexy. Who knew she had been hiding so much under that frumpy combat dress thing she had? The corset dress worked for her!
'And you ruined it. You ruined my wholesome joy Cobalt.' Pyrrha sighed, the wind taken from her sails, 'I don't want to get a full image of what you want to do to other girls.'
...Other girls?
'Nevermind!' Pyrrha hastily said.
While you personally wanted to try and go about meeting with Ruby and Pyrrha's old team. Mostly for the eye candy and conversation, Pyrrha was the one that ended up convincing you that it was probably for the best that you kept your distance for a while.
So, in the end, you decided to hang about in the air and keep an eye on them and see where they were going. But considering the fact that for the entire three days you followed them, there were hardly any Grimm around for some weird reason - you'd only found six beowolves in those three days - it left you with fuck all to do besides chat with Pyrrha in your head.
Well, you passed kinda passed the time by draining our your magic and playing about with it and when that was done, idly working on increasing your aura capacity, as slow going as it was.
On the fourth day though, when they set off from the village they stayed in the previous night, something caught your eye even in the early morning light.
A luminescent green glow off in the distance that you only noticed because of the birds eye view. It was a bit of a detour, but you could already see the village off in the distance a few miles away that the team was heading towards, so you could catch up after you amused yourself a bit with whatever it was.
So you took of flying in its direction, and my were you surprised a few dozen minutes later when you glided directly above where the light came from.
It was a Death Stalker. Though, not like the one you faced a few days ago upon landing in Anima. It was way, way bigger. Bigger even than you were, and you were the size of a bus. It was an Elder Death Stalker, an evolved Death Stalker that had reached full maturity.
But that wasn't all. Unlike normal Elder Death Stalker's, or Death Stalker's in general, this thing had glowing green veins of light running through its bone armour, and the single golden stinger that they usually had, was replaced by by three much larger, glowing green ones. the usual tail and stinger looked more like a giant ass scary glowing claw of doom.
"What the fuck?" You arched a nonexistent brow in bemusement as you looked it over from a few hundred feet above. It hadn't noticed you, or if it had, it just didn't care for you at all.
Which you supposed could also be true. Alpha Griffon's were not on the same level as Elder Death Stalker's, and this thing looked even more scary than the normal ones.
