Chapter 2

"Is this really happening?" I asked myself as I'm sitting on my bed.

I woke up and found Skyler sleeping on my sofa. I started remembering our conversation last night.

"So that really happened… So what do I do now?" I asked myself.

Well, we can be friends. I mean it's not like he's asking me out, right? He just wanted to get to know me better. He might just be very grateful to me for giving him the inspiration to write a song like that.

Right. Right. No need to overthink about it. He just probably felt really grateful.

"What time is it now?" I asked myself and looked at the clock.

It was already 9 in the morning. I should prepare breakfast for my guests also.

I stood up and washed my face first before tip-toeing to the kitchen. I boiled some water first for my coffee and started preparing sandwiches.

I might have been noisy or he's just a light sleeper but he woke up a few minutes after I started toasting the bread.

"Good morning." I greeted him.

"Mmm… morning." He replied.

"Was the sofa uncomfortable? Ah… of course it is. I should just help you find a hotel last night." I said.

"No. It's okay. I prefer your sofa." He replied as he went to the kitchen.

"You sure? Do you want coffee?" I asked.

"Yes and yes." He replied.

His hair is a mess and he looked so cute wiping his eyes, trying to keep them open.

"Oh right. Didn't you say you have a roommate?" He asked.

"Hmm? Oh, Ivy. Yeah, she moved out and I changed apartments, too. She's filming right now. She's starting her acting career and she's getting more famous these days. We both decided to live separately last month as she was feeling guilty waking me up when she came home late." I explained.

"Aren't you lonely?" He asked.

I gave him his coffee and the sandwiches I made.

"I do but she visits me here from time to time." I explained.

We ate our breakfast as we chatted about what we were doing the past 3 months.

After breakfast, we both decided to go out and visit some tourist attractions near here. We spent the whole day going to different places. I had a lot of fun and it was a great way to spend my weekend stress free.

I got to know him more this weekend. He is someone who likes to laugh and he has the prettiest smile I have ever seen. His eyes sparkle whenever he talks about his music. I also like how confident he is in himself. I also figured out why people were staring at me. They were not. They were staring at him. He has this natural air that attracts the eyes.

"I had a great weekend. I don't want to go home." He said.

The weekend passed by so fast, we were now standing inside the airport. I came to send him off as a good friend that I am.

"I had fun too and as much as I enjoyed your company, your band and your fans are waiting for you." I told him.

"We're gonna keep in touch, right? You're going to reply to my messages and answer my calls, right?" He asked like a child scared his mom would leave and never come back.

"Yes, yes. I will. Unless when I'm busy. Now get going." I replied.

"Alright. Till next time." He said and I waved him goodbye.

"Send me a message when you arrive in your country. Have a safe trip." I told him.

Spending time with Skyler is like living in a fantasy. I literally feel like I'm walking on clouds when I'm with him.

That feeling disappeared when I returned to work the following day. There were a lot of revisions by the end of the day and I started getting busy for the rest of the week.

"So how are you doing?" Skyler asked.

We're having a video call while we're both having dinner.

"I'm still holding on. It's not like I don't like being busy, you know. I like it actually, it's better than not doing anything for the whole day but there's a limit to that." I complained.

"There. There. Let me give you a virtual hug." He said.

"Thanks. How about on your side? How are you?" I asked.

"I'm great. I got casted for a web drama. My schedule is packed for the next 3 months so I can't see you for the next 3 months. I miss you already." He said.

"It's only been a week." I replied flatly.

"It feels like forever." He replied smoothly.

"Okay~" I said.

This guy is such a flirt. We talked for the whole evening about everything until he sang me to sleep.

The following day, my best friend, Ivy, came.

"Girl! I miss you!" She greeted and hugged me.

"I know." I replied and she rolled her eyes.

"Did you have breakfast?" I asked her as I went to my kitchen and prepared some food for the both of us.

"You seem happy. Did something good happen?" She asked.

"Do I?" I asked back.

"Yeah. Did you get promoted?" She asked.

"I wish." I scoffed.

"So it's not work. Then did you meet a guy?" She interrogated.

"I met an old acquaintance." I replied.

"And he's a man?" She prodded.

"Yes." I replied.

"You're being defensive right now. Who is this guy?" She asked.

"I'm not being defensive. He's, you know, an acquaintance." I replied.

"Acquaintance? You do realize that your face glows whenever you say acquaintance." She said,

"Fine. He's the guy I had a one night stand with months ago." I confessed and Ivy looked so shocked.

"Did you sleep with him again?" She asked eagerly for gossip.

"No!" I denied.

"Oh come on. You already slept with him once. What's another more time?" She commented.

"No. He came here to ask me to be his friend." I replied and she looked at me with skeptical eyes.

So I decided to tell her the whole story of how Skyler spent the weekend with me.

"So you mean to say that the guy you had a one night stand with came to find you, against all odds and after all this time, just to ask you to be his friend? Do you believe that? Really?" Ivy asked sarcastically.

"He came here to thank me for helping him gain inspiration to write a song. A song that apparently became a hit in his country." I explained and Ivy looked at me like I'm dumb.

"Really! He just wanted to be friends." I convinced her.

"Fine. Fine. If that's what helps you sleep at night. Then what about you?" She asked curiously.

"What do you mean what about me?" I asked back.

"Do you like the man or not?" She asked and rolled her eyes.

"Well, he's cute but he's younger than me. I'm not sure." I replied honestly.

"You're bothered about that? You already slept with him! How young is he anyway?" She asked.

"He's 2 years younger than me." I replied.

"Then he's already legal. What's wrong with being two years younger? That's a negligible age gap." She reasoned.

"I don't know." I replied.
