CHAPTER 2 : THE SWORDSMAN

Many years ago, the world faced what had gone down in history of the human race, a war with the gods.

The war which was the most intense war the human race had ever encountered, empires fell and everything seemed lost until..''

A man could be seen raising a sword charging towards the gods.

The man whom everyone called a hero brought an end to the war against the gods. Unfortunately that was until most of the population of the world was destroyed''

He stood atop of the heads of the gods and shouted His final words…

When the gods come back to collect the relics another war will begin

After the war dungeons started appearing one after another, some dungeons holds valuables and some holds relics.

The man was the first relic user who held the relic known as the heart of altair

The man disappeared

A man who looked like a knight who was patrolling the area heard sounds of a oerson running towards him

Sir peters !! A man running towards him with a report

He told the man to calm down and explain what had happened he told him that a dungeon was sighted near the border but it seems to have only valuables and no relics

Sir peter told him to call for backup incase of bandits and pirates who always come to scavenge and loot the valuables

After deploying more knights to the dungeon another knight came to sir peters telling him that theres a possibility the dungeon has a relic inside.

A few momemts ago ….

Rex and max who where near the border saw the dungeon sprung up in front of them.

This is the first time am seeing a dungeon

Rex said

Max and Rex were on their way to meet up with the rest of the crew to plan their next heist.

Max suggested to Rex to enter the dungeon

Rex did not even budge as he was lost from the sight of the dungeon and voices he heard inside

He started to reach out to the dungeon and began to take a step forward only to be stopped by his friend Max

Hey what do you think you're doing ? Max grabbed Rex by his arm

That's dangerous we don't know whats on the other side of the dungeon says Rex

But you're the one that suggested it max exclaimed

As a joke says Max

He pushed Max aside and collected his sword and started to venture into the dungeon

The sword started glowing with reasonance with the dungeon as if it was leding him somewhere

Rex was shocked at the display of the swords glowing that was given to him by his dad that was passed to him from his father before that and so forth….

Rex what did you do !!! Max held his arm again

You couldn't feel it but this is no ordinary sword

Yes max knew his sword was a relic, and its currently undergoing its first awakening now by siphoning energy from the portal.

He explained to max

There is three ways of obtaining a relic

The most common way is raiding a dungeon

The second and rarest was being selected by the relic.

The third way was by inheriting a family heirloom, a relic passed down from generations of relatives if they were alive and in this case, was the sword that controls the wind the zephryus relic.

Your saying that all this time I had the zephryus relic and it was this sword?

Rex asked as his eyes lit up with excitement.

As you can see, all the relics have names like mine the heart of altair relic allows me to copy any ones relic but the same time dosent allow me to copy all of the relics functions. The zephryus relic was left by the god of winds you will have the ability to use the power of the wind and make tornadoes

Ohh max said listening attentively like he was in a class

The dungeon began sucking his hat more and more catching rex and max off guard at the moment

That thing my sword, give it back Rex exclaimed!!!

Without a second thought, Rex jumped in to the dungeon and Max tried to follow him, but before he could jump….

An arrow was shot toward his direction which he caught easily

He caught the arrow sir

On the other side of the dungeon….

Ouch!

Rex fell hard on his back and mumbled as he picked himself up

He dusted himself off and looked ahead towards the scenery in front of him. The place he was in was not very big

Whenever a dungeon bearing a relic appeared two things were usually confirmed..

One is a test to see whether the raider was worthy enough to bond with the relic

But this case was different

Heirloom relics bond with their owners without undergoing any test , the fact that max has to take the test means that the zephryus relic dosent deem him worthy.

Zephryus relic was once owned by a master swordsman who was second to none, it might not like the idea that's his new owner is a person that dosent even know how to hold a sword well and has no talent in swordsmanship . so his relic declined him

In this case max had to be a master swordsman before he could get control over his relic

He rolled up his sleeves ready for action

Back outside….

He caught the arrow sir

Doppy was reporting to his commander using the comms he was wearing

Max who was about to go after rex was attacked by doppy and his relic the – dops bow

My apologies but you and your cohort are under arrest by order of my estemmed commander for illegal trespassing in crypt

He aimed his bow again and this time a golden radiant arrow formed and flex toward max

Max rolled out of harms way but he knew it his opponent was no where to be seen

Popy jumed high up. He then shot a brighter arrow that moved faster, this time max could barely doge it , the arrow brushed through his shoulder while he was dodging and a sudden jolt of pain struck him

Arghhh

He checked the spot he was hit and he was burning

This is my relics power

Even a slight brush can cause severe pain equaling a 3rd degree burn

Doppy couldn't believe his eyes

His relic which was used on even generals got hurt but did not even faze the boy

Max's relic the heart of altair became so ravaged with the circumstances that max lost control of his relic and turned to a demon like creature

He spoke in a dark manner unlike the normal way he speaks

Run

Doppy stumbled while getting up and ran as far as he could

I have to get the commander, this guy is insane

He quickly changed his objective of the mission after seeing the demon like creature

After he left the scene, max reverted back to his normal form and turned torwards the dungeon

Lets go save rex

He spoke cheerfully as he jumped into the dungeon

Rex had finally made his way to the zephryus relic after numerous attempts to maneuver through the laser beams

It seems that if he touches a beam by even a hairs length he will be teleported back to the starting point.

After hundreds of retries, he got his Sword back.

Yesssssss

He bawled in excitement as he took the sword from the display stand then….

Clunk!!!

He tripped the trap that was placed on top of the stand where the sword was placed on and the walls of the room started to move..

Oh shit
