“Mother, what are you doing here?” Aeliana cried in horror as she realized that her mother was in fact alive.
“You see, it isn’t quite so easy…” Raina cackled mirthfully as she took Aeliana by the hand, casting some type of spell or other darkened form of witchcraft upon her. “You must realize that your love has limitations, that the type of love that you are able to offer Jacques is confined, restricted. Unable to reach the darkest, deadliest parts of his heart.”
“That is where you are wrong,” Jacques piped up, surprising Aeliana very much by standing his ground.
“I still have plans for you to become Queen,” Raina whispered, taking Aeliana quite by surprise as she wrapped her into a full-on embrace. “My child, even as I have passed on to the next world, there has been a vast amount that I have seen. So much potential awaits you if only you trust and believe.”
