The test continues, and Cleo finally realises what kind of movement Leon is using; it is precise and sharp, like some sort of coordinated combination. He is now no longer fighting like a wild beast, only using his instinct to battle, but more like a well-oiled machine.
'System, are you controlling Leon right now!? ' He is shocked by his guess, but he doubts that the old Leon is capable of such smooth movements.
[Affirmative: the system is devising a way for Cleo's Clone (Leon) to fight; the pets evolution is similar to that of the Azure Berserk Monkeys; they are definitely weaker than their supernatural counterparts; fusing them will be similar to the Fallen Owl sacrificial evolution, making them half-step to the true supernatural level; and by giving them techniques, they will obtain the opportunity to obtain similar strength to their true supernatural counterpart.]
'I understand! You are giving them a set of attack patterns to give them an edge in any battle! ' He realises this as the system has influence on his soul slot as the two of them are connected through souls and they are inseparable.
[Correct, after the discovery of how strong the true supernaturals are, the system calculated the survival rate of the host's pets, and it is below five percent; unless the pet has the same ability as Cleo's clone (Leon), their death will definitely waste a soul slot.]
Cleo frowns. He realises that he needs to ponder his choices in pets. He shakes his head, thinking that he has multiple selections right now and should not fret about the existence of the system helping him.
"As expected, this would happen." Wind Sword sighs, watching the total annihilation of the group of advanced warriors against Leon, who was using his sword. With his perfect physique and the system's interference, it is no surprise that the average human is no match against him.
"Mas, I mean, young master, what should we do? The raid is going to happen in two days, but they are clearly weaker than our expectations," asks Elcio after watching the flare guards and Leon whoops the asses of the test takers.
"Do not worry, I have been watching the performance of each group. I cannot give any exemption to those that failed to pass the test of the flare guards, but I can give it to those fighting against Leon, and I have recorded some recommendable warriors." Cleo is not worried as the battle prowess of their group is mainly him, Leon, and Glutton.
The flare guards are not that bad, but they are not elite materials. What Cleo appreciates about them is their commitment to their mission and their undying will.
Elcio is someone that he decided to nurture after seeing how loyal he is; in fact, if not for the fact that he wants to nurture more warriors for his current family, he would not accept any warriors under him.
Suddenly, he senses something, and so does Leon. Without hesitation, he transforms into his Thunder Cloud Dragon Form and roars as he rises to the sky. Leon grabs his tail and jumps into his head, and the two of them go to the sky.
The sudden turn of events stuns everyone. The one who reacted faster to the dazed warriors was Elcio, who stood up and shouted.
"Enemy attack!"
In the sky, thousands of flying birds with purple feathers can be seen flying towards their camps. Cleo opens his mouth and unleashes a dragon roar, but is destroyed by a piercing cry. A giant eagle creature appears above him.
[Warning! The host is currently facing a true supernatural lifeform! Disengage! The system repeats: Disengage! ]
Cleo does not know why, but inside of him, something is telling him to fight. The system notices his mood and can only become silent as it takes control of Leon once again.
The bird actually looks at him with disdain, clearly indicating that it has intelligence. It spreads its wings and flaps them, creating a hundred wind blades.
(Elemental Transformation)
His body becomes illusionary, but even with this, he takes damage with every wind blade. This shocked him, and the bird raised its head and once again let out a piercing cry. It was a sonic sound type attack.
BOOM! He crashes to the ground together with Leon; the latter was riding on one of his clouds, trying to cut the wind blades but failing because of the power behind them.
He coughs out blood as his transformation returns to physical; he raises his head with indignation; a roaring voice is screaming inside of him to not give up; his blood starts boiling; and the Gemstone of Life starts glowing brightly inside of his chest.
ROAR! He flies once again, and Leon follows him by riding one of the clouds. The commotion finally attracts the attention of nearby camps, who are shocked.
"Little brother!" "Little Cleo!" Flare and Margaret's expressions changed as they sensed the aura from the purple eagle. They morphed into their soul blessings; one was a silver phyton, and one was a red bird.
The purple eagle easily dodges Cleo's attempt to attack; an eagle is the predator of snakes. The Thunder Cloud Dragon might not be a snake, but its form is slightly similar to it, making this fight quite disadvantageous to Cleo.
It grabs him and tries to tear him in half, but Leon leaps into it's head and stabs it's eye, only to be slapped away by one of its wings. Cleo deactivates his transformation after realising that he is no match against his opponent in his current form.
(Dragon-Tiger Transformation: Dragon X Tiger)
The purple eagle was surprised when it sensed him escaping its clutches.
(Tiger Pounce)
His muscles bulge as he grabs it's talons and starts swinging it in a circle; the sudden pull catches the purple eagle by surprise.
BOOM! It was thrown to the forest. It's flock is furious and is about to attack Cleo when they hear its furious cry. They instantly freeze and stop on their tracks, and they decide to target the humans below. Many of them had eyes on Leon, who was injured by the slap earlier. If he had not been caught by the clouds before Cleo deactivated his Thunder Cloud Dragon Form, he would have died and returned to the Soul Slot.
'Danger! ' His enhanced instinct screams to him; he tries to move away but is too slow to completely dodge the attack; a large chunk of his left side was destroyed in an instant; the expression of the two girls becomes pale; he roars as he swings his tail to the side but hits nothing.
As his blood drips to the ground below, he looks at his opponent, who is looking at him with eyes full of mockery.
[Warning! [The host's opponent has the ability to control wind elements.]
'So this is a true supernatural lifeform; even if it is not using its supernatural ability, its strength is already so strong! ' His eyes gleam dangerously as he charges towards his opponent without any fear.
The purple eagle was surprised by his courage, but it still was not alarmed. Wind gathers around it, creating a whirlpool of wind. With their distance, it is confident that he will not reach it.
(Dragon Flight)
His speed instantly increased, and he clenched his fist hard before throwing an absolute haymaker on its eyes. The blow interrupted its attack.
He continues punching it's eyes but is slapped by one of its wings. He can only harm it by using it's attitude towards him, but it seems that even this is not enough.
Blue Rage Monkey Transformation, Silent Matis Sword, and Armoured Deer Armour.
He summons three soul blessings to assist him; they might not increase his strength greatly since they are not on his soul slot, but they are still considered an asset for someone like him.
Even though he summons three soul blessings, only the Silent Mantis Sword can be seen; any physical transformation that he uses only buffs the dragon-tiger transformation but does not change his current form.
His heart starts beating at a much faster rate; he immediately knows what is happening; it is his talent [overwork] being activated.
With one of its eyes shut, the purple eagle no longer underestimates its opponent but still has the arrogance that it will win, as the difference between them was just too massive.
Meanwhile, both Flare and Margaret were preoccupied by two supernatural-level purple eagles, but they were clearly fake supernaturals; they seemed to be in their juvenile phase.
With his dragon flight still inactive, he can only rely on his instinct to follow the movement of his opponent. The purple eagle was using its speed to fly around him.
'The difference between us is just too large; with its speed, my dragon's eyes are unable to see through its weakness! ' He grumbles inwardly as both he and the system try to lock on the figure of their enemy.
[Go down! ]
The system's warning was slower than his reaction; as he already dives down, he feels something sharp passing through his head.
