CHAPTER 48

Alice logged into her WhatsApp and saw the shock of her life, giving a short yelp she dropped the phone back and tried to control the violent shaking of her body and the fact a shout was at the back of her throat.

With trembling fingers she sought for control and composure, she couldn't afford to show her emotions at the moment. In fact her mind shut down completely from what she had seen, but she knew it was a temporary relief and the stuffs she had seen in that phone would surely come back to hunt her.

Alice taking a deep lungful breaths when Sasha came back with the snacks, "here are the stuffs you requested milady" She said bowing a little to Alice.

"Oh thank you so much Sasha, I think I lost my appetite"

"Are you okay? You look kinda of pale " Sasha commented looming all over her .

Before Alice could reply prisca came in too with a deep frown on her face but she tactfully grabbed her phone before talking silently bereting herself for leaving her phone carelessly . "Alice none of the guys are with your bag, you just sent me on a goose chase "

Uhm I think I would go get it myself alice replied, storming off needing to be far away from her as possible.

"Let's all just go together once we find your bag, we can discuss the dress code immediately " Sasha suggested with a smile but alice quickly refuted her.

"No I really have to go don't bother I would send the exact designs we would wear in our group chat " She said almost running away from the room.

Strange that's very weird of her Sasha commented.

You know what's weird is her always making decisions that affects us all alone prisca said holding her hands akimbo .

"Well if you have a problem with that, you can simply say it to her face not at her back "Sasha said standing up from her position.

" Where are you going? Prisca questioned surprised at her reaction she had expected her to concur and agree with her but it's the opposite.

"I'm leaving too alice ain't here no more so no need to keep up with your nasty attitude , see you later she said blowing her a kiss and leaving her to herself.

Tsk such a clown prisca muttered going back to her phone and giggling heartily.

Thompson's Home

Ayra was in the sitting room eating caramel coated popcorn with a chilled soda watching the "bridgetons" , when alice came back home looking like a complete wreck and worse she was walking like a zombie and not her usual "main character " walk.

Ayra glued her eyes on her and wondered if she should say something or remain mute? She was about to concentrate back on her movie but her mouth opened and said something out of their own violations.

"Alice welcome home " She began cheerfully.

Alice merely nodded not looking at her direction even once, that was the time ayra really confirmed that something was indeed really wrong somewhere but what could it be?

"Uhm do you want some popcorn? I made it myself she offered, genuinelysad to see bubbly alice so dispirited . She didn't like alice like this she was used to her being noisy and everywhere, gosh she even preferred the annoying and mean alice to the watered soul she was starring at.

" I hate popcorns especially once made by you "

Ayra smiled at her comment, glad that the old alice was slowly returning. "Uhm that's fine am tomorrow is the day of the excursion are you excited ?she asked folding her hands together in glee.

Alice frowned at her before replying with a low voice " I'm don't care about the damn excursion just as am not interested in chitchating with at the moment.

Ayra nodded her head like a lizard "that's calm alice , if you need anything just let me know ".Alice 's murderous stare at her informed her she had over stepped her boundaries with her concern.

" What makes you think I need your help? Alice thundered, I am well able of handling my problems. Alice Thompson is capable and not a weakling!!.

"Accepting help from people doesn't make you a weakling Alice , it just means you are hu-

"Shut it ayra please don't get me started on one of your motivational , I am perfectly okay ".

Ayra knew she should stop at that moment to avoid angering her further, but her mouth had other plans. " But you don't look okay ayra screamed back at her, am just trying to be of help here "

"You really want to help me huh? The way you can help me is by minding your business and leaving me the fuck alone!! She yelled going into her room and shutting the door with a decisive thud.

Ayra shivered a little before massaging her thighs and giving herself a hug , she turned back to face the screen of her laptop but unfortunately she couldn't concentrate neither could she enjoy it like before.

Few hours back she had come back from school with a big smile on her face, the day had really gone wonderfully well, she had mended her relationship with kachi and now there were three friends trying to understand themselves better, plus she was still Jack's girlfriend and could even say she was in love with him ( not that she would ever admit it though) but life was relatively good and dandy coupled with the fact she was incredibly excited about the nice places she would get to see the next day and the educational benefits. But Alice had to come back and suck away all her happiness and glee with her, it was as though she couldn't be happy if Alice was sad she thought to herself they weren't twins for crying out she muttered dragging at the ends of her hair.

She grabbed a handful of the popcorn into her mouth but it turned sour , but honestly she had never seen alice this sad.

What could have caused it? She asked the thin air, could it be a problem regarding her birthday party? Or she was seeing her period?, maybe someone annoyed her at school she concluded hating the fact she didn't have the solution to a problem.
