Communication

Sullivan walked over to the stream, peering over it to see if he could spot any new fish caught in his trap. There were a few more fish that had been caught coming down stream, and so he took them out and quickly prepped them for dinner. He then walked a little further down the stream finding a small area in which the stream expanded. The waters weren't to rough yet but big enough for him to get in, and so he did. He undressed and took a dip in the shimmering stream which he saw as more of a pond in this area, he washed off days of exhaustion and he rested and swam around a little bit. The water wasn't quite hot, but due to the sun shining down on the pond and stream for quite a bit it was far from cold either.

After he felt that he had adequately bathed he got out and relaxed in the sun for a little while to dry off as he sat on the grass he noticed Merlin flax growing in a sunny spot not to far from the stream and packed it along with some of its seeds, after doing so he gathered sticks on his way back to the campsite so he could prepare for dinner. As he gathered sticks he notice a broken and scattered beehive under one of the large oak trees, it looked as though it had been ransacked by a bear. He went to it and after carefully checking to make sure the bees were gone, gathered some wax from it. He came back to camp to find Seliana sitting by the fire, tossing little twigs in every now and then. The fire was still far from alive, but this way it could be fairly easily revived.

"Here, lets get the fire going a bit bigger, I want the outside to be nice and crispy this time." He said dropping the sticks by her, he took the sharp sticks they had used to previously cook fish and stuck them through their new meal.

"You're going to have to show me this area where you bathed, I feel rather grimy my self." She said looking up at him as she grabbed the sticks and put them in the fire to get it burning good again.

"Yeah I don't mind taking you, maybe tomorrow though." He said looking to the sky. He could see the sun coming down over the trees, shining its light in a beautiful orange pink throughout the sky.

"Yeah, tomorrow then." Seliana took the fish setting them close to the fire, but not inside of it. Lester sat down beside her and set out the flax to dry.

"What's that for?" She asked him looking up from the fish.

"I'm gonna make a bow so we can get some new kind of meat. Fish are nice but I much prefer real game like rabbits." He said as he placed the large clumps of Flax

"Right, I suppose it'd be nice to have some spices and fruit as well." Seliana said, mostly to herself. They sat together listening to the crackling of the fire and the forest as it seemed to come alive in a new way at night.

Though they were partners it was still rather hard for them to communicate, after all they had very few things in common. The life styles they lives, their expertise, their knowledge. It was all very different from each others and so the had a hard time really communicating if it wasn't fighting for their lives.

Seliana turned the fish to the other side and let it cook a bit, and Lester just continued to silently eat. The silence wasn't awkward however, neither of them really felt like talking and just seemed to enjoy each others company instead. So while they found it harder to communicate, by no mean was it hard for them to get along.

I know this wasnt a very long or expansive episode, but I hope you enjoyed it still. Please make sure to comment and rate as it really helps get my book out there and lets me know you guys enjoy the content.
