Nathan
I wake up from a not so peaceful sleep and the first thing I notice is the lack of an extra presence. Then I remember, Renée left.
Despite missing her, I got out of bed and decided to take care of myself. I got to work on making a pot of coffee. While it was brewing, I got dressed. I looked in my closet to find a jacket, but none of them seemed to appeal to me today. I sighed, "Didn't plan on stealing today."
I got a travel-mug full of coffee and left my apartment. I got to work 30 minutes early. I laughed to myself as I thought about what Renée would say.
"My thief, early is on time and on time is late."
Thinking of her isn't gonna make this any better idiot. I work at a black market. I don't sell anything, I'm a security guard. Things get a little dangerous when the people around you sell things illegally. I've lost track of how many times I've come home and Renée has felt the need to, and I quote, "fix my face".
"What the fuck?! You said an eye for an eye?" some man was screaming, which is normal. "I said I wanted a green eye. You can't have the purple one if you don't give me a green one." the other man said.
I approached the men, "Is there a problem here?" I asked. The two men glared at me, and one of them said "No, I just want this prick to understand he can't get the purple eye if he doesn't give me a green one."
Most of the day went like that. Pointless arguments and even some fights for me to break up. It's the same thing every day.
When I get home, I look for Renée out of habit only to be disappointed when she's not here. I wish she would just come home already.
