As soon as he let Seraphina inside his bedroom, an uneasy sensation washed over Damian. It was an indescribable feeling, one he struggled to put into words or comprehend fully.
He observed how effortlessly she blended into the room, as if she belonged there, and yet he resisted any thoughts that could arise from such a sight. He forcefully suppressed any spark he felt when their hands touched, determined to view her solely as a human being.
"I'll be back," the words escaped his lips without effort.
He walked away, making sure to lock the door behind him.
His first instinct was to head to the royal kitchen, intending to fetch some food for Seraphina as well.
