Forbidden Love

Li Na's eyes were blurry from tears that were streaming non stop down her face as she watched her mother, father and baby brother huddled in a corner. They were tied up, scared and stuffed in a dirty abandoned warehouse probably in the middle of nowhere.

She wasn't sure of where this place was, but she did smell the fresh air with a hint of livestock. Her guess would be the countryside.

"Mom, Dad, Li Wu. Everything is going to be alright. We'll get out of here." Her words were meant to comfort them but even she didn't believe it.

"Big Sister, I'm scared... I want to go home" Li Wu was disheveled, his hair was in a mess and he had blood stains on his knees from being pushed down during the kidnapping. Her mother and father were hugging both of them while protecting them with their bodies.

"Shhh Li Wu, we'll be out of here in no time" Mrs Li reassured him.

Li Na and her parents dote on Li Wu to pieces. He is only thirteen years old this year, so young still. He still has a lot of growing up left to do and a passion for classical music. He can play the piano with his eyes closed, you can say that he is a genius in the making. But now he was stuck in this dirty hell hole trying to put up a brave face.

A movement catches their eyes and five scary men came towards them. They were holding metal pipes and dragging them on the ground. The sound was making the Li family scared witless.

"STOP it!!" Li Na cried

"Who are you people? Please don't hurt my family. What do you want from us?" Mr. Li tried negotiating with them

A man with a scar on his left cheek approaches them, slowly. "What can you offer me that my employer hasn't already?"

"I have money, I can pay you double the amount your employer gave you" Mr. Li says in a rush. Hoping that these men were greedy enough to be swayed by his words.

The scar faced man was enjoying the fear that was permeating through the air from the Li family. "I don't need money, I enjoy these kinds of jobs. I get to kill four people today, which is exhilarating."

"Who are you people?" Li Na shouted.

"I'll save you for last and allow you to watch your love one's die in front you. Hahahaha what do you think?"

"You sick bastard! What do you want from us?" Li Na was so scared that she was shivering all over. She couldn't breathe and was in panic mode. I need to think of a way out of here. What the hell is happening, who were these men? Her mind was in overdrive trying to come up with a plausible explanation to the state that they were in.

All of a sudden he grabs a chunk of Mrs. Li's hair and yanks it up so that her head was positioned in a weird angle. As her hands were still bound she could only cry out in pain and struggle against his hold.

Li Na's world was in slow motion as she watches the knife plunging down into her mother's heart. Her mother only smiles at her and mouths "I love You". Then her father and baby brother was dragged over to be stabbed in the same gruesome way.

She was screaming non stop as she watched each horrific death. Her lungs were burning and she was struggling to untangle her tied hands. Blood was dripping down her fingers as the ropes chaffed her wrists and made cuts during her struggle to break free. She wanted to reach out and block the knife or shield them from the inevitable. But still the outcome was the same, they died a painful death. But they didn't even cry out as they didn't want her to be scared. Each one had love in their eyes as they stared at her in their last moments.

"Ahhhh Nooo!!! Mom!!! Dad!!! Li Wu!! noooo please noooo"

Pain wracked her heart as her blood shot eyes turned towards the five men. She was screaming at the top of her lungs at the injustice of it all. She couldn't fathom why this was happening. Why her? Why her family? She finally voiced out what was running through her mind.

"Why are you doing this?"

"I'm just following instructions. But it's your lucky day, my boss did want me to let you know the reason why you and your family was killed today. Isn't he generous?" The scar faced man started cackling.

"Who wants my family dead? And Why?" Her words were shaky and almost a whisper.

"You know him quite well. It's your beloved husband, Lu Han"

Her body jerked upon hearing that name. Lu Han? Her husband? What is going on? "What do you mean? Don't lie, my husband loves me and he has a kind heart. What the hell are you talking about?"

"Hahahaha Lu Han is more vicious than I am. He only married you for your money. He never loved you. Now he has his eyes set on the Sheng Group. And in order to get the Sheng Group, he will need to marry Sheng Ziyi, the only heir to the Sheng Group. But you are in the way" His smiling eyes was glowing as he narrates her death sentence.

"What? He never loved me? I don't believe you!! You asshole stop lying!"

"He knew that you would say that, so he left you a little farewell video."

Li Na was shown a cell phone and the scar faced man played a video clip.

"Hello my darling, since you are seeing this video it must mean that you are the last one left. I think you deserve to know why you are being sent to your death. You see, I'm a very ambitious person and you and your family were just a stepping stone to get me to the top. I was raised as a poor bastard and was looked down upon my whole life. But I wanted to rewrite my future and I'm sorry to say that the Li family are collateral damage to attain my goal. As you can surmise I never truly loved you. You're plain and boring. Living with you for the past year was bland to say the least. Don't worry I have a mistress on the side which kept me entertained during our marriage. You also know her, it's your best friend Xu Yun. Now I have my sights set on Sheng Group but I can't do that with you around. The Li Corporation will be mine and I will play the grieving widow to perfection. I need it for Miss Sheng to notice me, so wish me luck. All I need from you, is to do your part now and die" He seemed so relax as if he was talking about the weather.

The video feed cut off after that and the scar faced man deleted it on the spot.

She was still in shock, these heinous crimes were instigated by her husband Lu Han. A man she married a year prior. He was so adamant in his pursuit of her that year. He would always shower her with red roses and take her on dinner dates until she acquiesced to becoming his girlfriend. Not long after that he proposed and they were married. She was blissfully unaware that she had allowed a snake in her family.

Playing the good wife for the past year was her greatest pleasure. She dressed plainly and was conservative thinking that, that was what he wanted out of his wife. Docile, innocent and obedient.

Everything was a lie? She couldn't fathom it and was shaking her head in denial. This was unbelievable. Her choice in marrying a devil in disguise was the downfall of her entire family? She started laughing out loud and then crying endlessly. Her feelings was a mixture of pain and remorse. She couldn't succumb to this ending. Hatred bubbled inside her heart and an intense feeling of pure killing intent burst through every single cell of her body.

"I won't accept this!!!" Li Na screamed from at the top of her lungs.

All of a sudden the knife plunged deep into her heart and in the minute before she took her last breath. Her mind reached out to the heavens and begged to have her revenge. She didn't care if she signed a contract with the devil himself, she will avenge her family this was her dying wish.

"Lu Han, I will kill you" Her dying words an echo reverberating throughout the warehouse.

As her body fell down onto the ground, a burst of wind started whipping crazily outside. It sounded as if a thousand souls were flying around the building in a frenzy creating a weird eerie noise.

It gave the five men goosebumps and they hurriedly gathered the corpses of the Li Family. Lu Han wanted their deaths to be an accident so the men placed the Li Family in their Mercedes SUV and set it a blaze. The deaths of the Li Family shocked the corporate world.
