CHAPTER TWENTY
Wei Ye darted her gaze to Li Yanshu then she secretly pinched Feng Shui.
Feng Shui understood the meaning and put on a pitiful face"Li Yanshu,am really sorry for the way Xiao Lin behaved. Although she has the looks of an adult,she still have the brain of a child. Please forgive her".
"Even if i don't forgive her,it can't erase the lies she spouted against me". Li Yanshu had just been pulling Luo Lin legs back when she lied about the number. Luo Lin never had a boyfriend to begin with, nobody wanted to associate with her because she wasn't rich as them.
Luo Lin was so stupid to get so immersed in her role that she seems to have forgotten to differentiate the truth from the lies and that enabled Li Yanshu to use it to her advantage.
Unlike Luo Lin, Feng Shui didn't get angry,she smiled and said"as long as she's forgiven".
To clear up the atmosphere,the butler brought in the cake,a very large and tall cake with a smaller figure of Wei Ye placed on it.
Just then Cun Weiyi, Mu Ting,Mu Qilu and his spouse came in with the other relatives. Their presence were really noticeable since they held their head high superior.
The Old Lady wasn't there,well,she never liked Wei Ye from the beginning. They all took a seat at the high table reserved for them,Wei Ye got up and said to Li Yanshu and the rest"excuse me"she then took a tray of wine and went to meet the Mu family.
They were pleased with Wei Ye as she bowed while serving them,she had not only bowed but personally served them without the help of any servant. She was so much better than Li Yanshu who sat down and stared at them eyeball to eyeball.
After Wei Ye had served them,she gave them a final bow"Thank you for honoring my invite".
Cun Weiyi,Mu Zhen mother smiled and said"We wouldn't miss it for the world. Happy birthday Xiao Ye"Wei Ye smiled and knew that she had won the affection of the family and held a greater part of their hearts.
"Thank you auntie".
"Your presents are up in your room, alright, go and enjoy your day"Cun Weiyi added.
Wei Ye nodded"Alright auntie, i'll leave first"she then left them and went to the stage.
Everybody sang to her the happy birthday song,in between the song,Li Yanshu left for the restroom. She had been drinking wine since and her bladder is full,she really needs to empty it.
She went to the restroom and emptied her bladder, nothing feels more refreshed than emptying the bladder when it's on chokehold.
After she was done,she went to clean her hands in the basin and adjust her cloth.
She was still trying to figure out who gave her the cloth but nobody apart from Mu Ze could she think of.
She finished washing and drying her hands before going back into the hall when she saw a note on the floor. Her first instinct was to ignore it but who would throw a note here or who would bring a book here.
Nobody had been to the restroom apart from her,it could only mean that the note was for her. After so many explanations on why she should pick up the paper,Li Yanshu picked up the rumbled paper and opened it.
It read:
"Meet me in the garden at the back of the hall."
It wasn't signed by anybody,Li Yanshu went to the hall and saw that Mu Ze wasn't sitted on his seat.
Was he the one that planned it? but why.
She decided to go,she wasn't worried if it's some kidnapper. She had learned martial arts back in the states and was sure she could protect herself from them.
When she reached the garden,no one was there and it was quiet. A fountain was in the middle of the garden and beautiful flowers surrounds it. A play swing was by the side and a small house which Li Yanshu assumed was for the equipments needed for the growing of flowers and plants was sited at the farthest side of the garden.
The garden was quiet and peaceful,Was this a prank?.
Li Yanshu took a step to go back into the hall"Wait, don't go" Li Yanshu paused in her steps and took a 90° turn to see Mu Zhen holding a bunch of flowers in his hands.
Li Yanshu ignored what he said and began to walk back to the hall,she doesn't want to get tangled up with this man ever again.
"If you leave, i'll have no choice but to fire Mu Ze and take away the house i gave him,i can ever seize his property and freeze his accounts"Li Yanshu paused disgusted with what he said"don't worry,i can provide for him"she said with boldness.
"Of course i know that but do you think Mu Ze would want that. He would be devasted and he's expecting a promotion too, do you think it's too much if i demote him".
Li Yanshu faced him again"You're heartless"she knew he's right and knows what he's capable of but wasn't he being to heartless to his own cousin.
"Just give me few minutes of your time"he pleaded with her,Li Yanshu crossed her arms over each other"President Mu,i hope you'll make this quick".
Her alienation created a pang of sorrow in his heart,"Shushu,take as a feeling of my remorse to you"He stretched the banquet of flowers to her,Li Yanshu glanced at it and didn't collect it.
Which remorse is there to feel,afterall everything has been done already,you can't change back what happened.
"Shushu,am really sorry for what happened five years ago. I really missed you,you were the reason why i refused to get married again. Come back to my side again".
Li Yanshu sneered at his confession,she tapped her index finger on her chin before staring at the man in front of her"So, you're telling me to leave my fiance and be with you"Li Yanshu asked him,Mu Zhen nodded without hesitation.
"You didn't even bother to think about how your cousin will think or feel or even your relatives. You think only about yourself,do you know that?"Li Yanshu was annoyed,how could there be a man as Mu Zhen in this world.
