CHAPTER SIXTEEN

Li Yanshu opened the door of the bathroom and saw fully clothed children,that,she was grateful for.

They were both decorated with toothpaste all over their body and askew hairs,Li Cherry was sitted on the floor bawling her eyes out while holding her doll. Li Cola on the other hand was still much composed than anybody in this situation.

"What happened here?"Li Yanshu headed towards them gently so as not to step on the toothpaste and slip, although her legs were still getting wobbly whenever she walks,maybe because of the water.

Li Cherry cleaned her eyes after seeing her mother"Mama,Li Cola bullied pearl,he took her to the bathtub and poured water on her,then he squeezed the toothpaste on me and pearl"Li Yanshu assumed Pearl was the doll's name because of how she raises the doll whenever she says the name.

Li Yanshu faced the stoic young boy by the side and asked"is that true?"however,he answered with"Do you believe what she said?".

Li Yanshu was put in a dilemma"Come on, it's alright... Your brother Ya Shi is coming over today,be on your good behavior"The last sentence was actually directing to Li Cola whose face was cold as ice and as deadly as a bullet.

Li Cherry sniffed twice wiping the snot coming out of her nose"Who is brother Ya Shi"Li Yanshu then remembered that her children doesn't know about Ya Shi,neither did Mu Ze.

"He's my friend and therefore your uncle,Mu Ze and i have to go to a party today alright?, we'll be back as soon as possible"Li Cola didn't respond but instead pursed his lips in annoyance.

If it was only Mu Ze going,he would be glad,atleast he would have quality time with his mama but he managed to persuade his mama to follow him.

Li Cherry already cleansed eyes got watery all over again"But mama,Li Cola will bully me again".

Li Cola snickered and said"Childish"

Li Yanshu exhaled and thought to herself_this was going to be a long morning_.

Mu Ze had left earlier since it was his cousin that organized the events,he was only allowed to accompany Li Yanshu into the hall when she had reached there.

Li Yanshu had managed to persuade Li Cherry into staying at home with Li Cola,she was a little bit obstinate about it but who would dare refuse their mother for a long time.

After breakfast,the children went to their bedroom and Li Yanshu went to prepare.

The birthday was to take place around the time 12:00pm and to end whenever the guests feel like going. From a thing or two that Li Yanshu had learnt from Wei Ye is that never come at the beginning of any show,come when the show had gotten hot, it's the only way to enjoy it.

Li Yanshu had learnt it the hard way when Wei Ye came during the time Mu Zhen was berating her and she had no words to refute it apart from saying she's innocent. Li Yanshu never blamed Mu Zhen judgement because who wouldn't get enraged meeting your wife in the arms of another man.

Even she would get angry if she sees her man on another woman's bosom.

Li Yanshu wore the blue dress,it was so beautiful on her body. It felt like it was made for her,her fair skin became brighter and the cool color of blue made her look sophisticated and refine. She styled her hair in a messy bun seeming to tell the world she's carefree, applying a transparent lipgloss on her already pink lips,she wore a blue high heel and her finishing touch was her blue bag.

Blue being her favorite color,she automatically chosed blue in her whole dressing. She felt the need to really thank Mu Ze when she meets him.

The dress also came with a beautiful pearl necklace also blue and a ring,she wasn't a fan of rings or bracelets,so she let it on her mini wardrobe.

When she was sure she had gotten ready,she gave herself a twirl in the mirror, satisfied with her look,she went outside her room,the heels clicking the floor as she walks.

Her head held up high,it was something she had gotten used to over the past year, she always made sure she wasn't looked down upon like how she was five years ago.

Li Yanshu heard her gate being knocked upon,she went to answer the person and sure enough, it was Ya Shi, wearing casual clothing. It seems like he really had no plan in attending the event,"Do come in"Li Yanshu said out of curtsey,Ya Shi mouth was open in awe.

He shamelessly stared at Li Yanshu,her beautiful curves that had been brought out by the dress"My children need to be attended to,not me"Ya Shi noticed that he was being rude,he closed his mouth and not surprising,a mouthful of saliva was about to droool down.

Li Yanshu had to invite him inside again, and this time,into the house"Who got you the dress,is it true that you've hooked up with Mu Zhen cousin"Ya Shi abruptly brought up the topic.

Li Yanshu frowned at his words"Hook is a large and very misleading word. To be exact, we're engaged already"Li Yanshu showed him her finger, Ya Shi got a hold of the ring on her ring finger.

"People really love spreading gossips,are you with Mu Ze just to spite Mu Zhen?"Li Yanshu succinctly answered"No...this is the library,Li Cola loves reading and don't take the doll away from Li Cherry,she got really attached to it".

Noting that Li Yanshu didn't want to talk about her personal life,Ya Shi stopped being a gossip and listened to all the instructions Li Yanshu said to him. She also showed him all the places he needed to know.

"That will be all,if you need anything,am just a call away. Do take it easy with Li Cola,he has time bonding with strangers".

Ya Shi took note of that too,she didn't inform her children when she was going,afraid that Li Cherry wouldn't want to let go again.

"I'll get going"Li Yanshu said and left for the venue,she ordered a cab but they couldn't get into the Qinghan street because its has tight security around,Li Yanshu could only walk.

The last time was easy because she wasn't wearing heels but right now,the heels was killing her.

Since when she relocated to the states,she had not been in any social events or gatherings.

When Li Yanshu went outside the Qinghan street,a cab was waiting for her there, however,it was quite a flashing car earning the attention of the public.

Was this her cab?,the cab honked at her,Li Yanshu tried to get a glimpse of the person inside but the glass was tinted.

Whatever,her ankles were hurting her,she went to the backseat and entered, shutting the door when she entered.

The door was locked from the inside,Li Yanshu suddenly had a bad feeling and it was confirmed when she saw the face she always wanted to avoid.
