CHAPTER ELEVEN

The gate shaking disturbed Li Yanshu as she was filling in the form,she frowned and finished the form before submitting it. She had thought that Mu Ze had gone to answer the person knocking but the person hasn't left yet.

Could it be Mu Zhen and Wei Ye?.

Although she doesn't want to meet them,she also doesn't want them to disturb her children's nap.

She went downstairs and to the gate,as she opened it, the person she met was neither Wei Ye nor Mu Zhen,it was Ya Shi,dressed in a plain white t-shirt and black pair of trousers.

He looked handsome with his hands tucked into his pockets, immediately his eyes came in contact with Li Yanshu,he bowed his head in mortification as he looked at the tip of his toes clad in a footwear.

Li Yanshu was shocked to see Ya Shi here,after she got drunk and Mu Zhen came to carry her out,she had never heard of him again.

After her divorce,she had gone to look for him in order for him to clarify himself and redeem Mu Zhen trust in her but she heard that he travelled to visit his father in another city.

"Shushu,can we talk?"Ya Shi spoke up,Li Yanshu nodded and opened the gate for him to come in.

When he came in, Li Yanshu didn't allow him inside the house,she, instead, crossed her arms and said"Okay, let's talk".

Her calm and unfaltering tone made him more nervous and even how she didn't welcome him into her home created a wave of uneasiness in him.

He was here to say the truth and nothing but the truth"Shushu,i know that you're mad about what happened five years ago...".

Li Yanshu interrupted him at once"Am not mad,infact,am to thank you for what you did"her voice was sincere because she meant every word.

She would have never known that Wei Ye harbored such hatred for her since they were kids.

However,Ya Shi had misunderstood her words for sarcasm,his guilt became even deeper eating its way to his heart.

"I really didn't mean to do it,I...it..it just that i really needed the money offered. Wei Ye came to me and offered me five million to sleep with you,back then,my father needed a heart transplant for he had a weak heart. The doctors had already seen a suitable heart at that time but i couldn't afford the money to pay for the surgery. I was slowly losing my father just like i had lost my mother. I really didn't wish to do it but the offer was so tempting,even though i didn't sleep with you,i still got the money and i left after that. Only after a year i came back did i hear of what befell you. Am really sorry"His words carried heavy guilt in them,he couldn't even bring himself to look at Li Yanshu face.

He truly regretted everything he did because in the end,his father couldn't make it. The heart they were supposed to use stopped beating,that was when he realized the mistake he had done. He came back to make amends but she was gone, she had divorced Mu Zhen and left the city.

How could he live thinking of what he did to Li Yanshu,that cute and innocent little girl. And Wei Ye didn't even bother to pick his calls or even accept his request to meet with her.

Her quietness made him more nervous. He knows that she might never forgive him but he just wants her to know the kind of person Wei Ye was.

"It's alright, it's not your fault that you fell for her tricks,it also not your fault that you had to befriend such a woman. Is your father alright now?".

Ya Shi heaved a sigh of relief when he heard those words"My father is dead but no worries, he's at least relieved from this evil world. I heard that you brought two kids with you,can i see them?"He had totally forgotten how nervous he was before and had turned back to his cheerful and enthusiastic self.

"Maybe another time"her lack of explanation was surprising but he didn't make any comments,he nodded and said"Alright, i'll see you later"Li Yanshu opened the gate for him and watched as he left.

Only after he was miles away did he remember that he forgot to ask for her new number_so dumb_.

Li Yanshu went back to her room after locking back the gate,Mu Ze was in his room doing God knows what and the kids were probably bickering or maybe on each other throats.

It was already evening time when the family came out for dinner, surprisingly, Li Cola didn't make any sarcastic remark. Everybody was staring at him strangely,he, himself, felt goosebumps.

Why was everyone marvelled at how quiet he was?.

He continued eating his dinner in quiet and reserved manner.

Li Yanshu thinks back to when Mu Ze said that Li Cola knows something about his father,she gripped her chopsticks hard.

Not now,not ever,will she allow her kids to be taken away from her...

She had been pushed around for too long.

She had given too much of everything to people that didn't worth it,she had most especially given her youth to a man who divorced his wife in a heartbeat.

"Mama,you broke your chopsticks"Li Cherry broke Li Yanshu out of her woolgather and she stared at her hands where her broken chopsticks were still mercilessly held in.

Calmly,she let go of the chopsticks,her fair palm red from the strong grip on her chopsticks.

She stood up and threw the chopsticks in the waste bin,she then took new chopsticks and went back to eat her dinner.

Mu Zhen knew something was wrong but he didn't want to confront her in front of her children,he let it go and they all went back to eating their dinner in tranquility.

After dinner,Li Yanshu cleared up the table and retired to her room after tucking her children in bed.

She laid on her bed thinking about her next plan,she couldn't just wait around for Mu Ze to keep helping her.

She wants to be independent but how could she when she doesn't even have a suitable job.

Although she doesn't need to get a job as she already has money but having money without evidence or proof of how you got it,she might be maligned and gossiped about.

Two things she detest the most.

Her eyelids were getting heavy,a plan could wait till the next day right?.

Before she knew it,she was taken into a deep slumber. Looking so pure and immaculate,her face were contorted into a frown and her look got restless.

Beads of sweats started forming on her forehead,she slowly mumbled the name"Zhen..."to herself.

Soon,her face returned to normal and she had a nightmare free night.
