CHAPTER TWELVE

The next day,Li Yanshu was already awake and was in the kitchen whipping up a delicious breakfast for the family.

The aroma of the delicious dish awoke Mu Ze from his sleep,he went to the kitchen and there was Li Yanshu,with a apron tied to her body.

The way she worked in the kitchen showed professionalism,she cooked and brought out ingredients like she had been living in this house for a decade.

Mu Ze felt that he was lucky to have such a fiancée who could cook and also have a lady charm to her,even when she walks,she walks with grace,when she eats,she eats like royalty but when she cooks,it was like she was a spell men would get bound to.

Li Yanshu, throughout her cooking, didn't look back. She knew that whosoever at her back wasn't an intruder,she had lived in Qinghan street throughout her youth and knew how tight the security was.

Only when she was done did she look back"Morning"Mu Ze nodded at her.

"How was your night?"Li Yanshu paused when she heard the question, soon,she continued cleaning the table with a cloth"Fine"but that fine she said,she knows it wasn't sincere.

She knows how the early hours of her sleep was in disarray,she had dreamt of Mu Zhen taking her cute little dumplings from her together with Wei Ye.

They were throwing snickers at her as she pleaded,she watched her children being dragged away helplessly. Everything happened so fast,Mu Zhen turned his back against her and began to walk with Wei Ye.

They dragged her children like they were dirty rags, no respect for their feelings.

She could still remember how she had to endure so much pain just for her children,she gave birth to her children prematurely and had been in lot of pain.

It was said that it was 50 percent chance of her living,that they had to chose between her children or her life.

If the doctors hadn't been fervent and righteous to their work,maybe both her and her children wouldn't be alive.

She couldn't even mention the pain, suffering, anguish and torment she had to go through during when she was still in her early stage of pregnancy.

The money promised by Wei Ye wasn't sent as vowed so she had to work as a cook as well as caring for her babies.

Watching how they took her children without remorse,she felt pain all over,she wanted to give up. Without her children,why was she living?.

Her children were her hope to continue this life,she had given up on life since her divorce but when she gave birth to her children.

As she held them in both arms,she could still recollect how her heart melted when they both held her fingers seeming to tell her not to give up.

She didn't know why but she knelt on the floor and in a slow whispher called out"Ah Zhen..." in the dream.

Li Yanshu cleaned the tear that had unknowingly slipped out,for a minute,she seems to have forgotten that she wasn't in the dream nor in the past.

She was in the present and she would protect her children with all of her life.

"Are you okay?"She was silent for too long which got Mu Ze worried,the hand she was using to hold the cloth tightened.

She seems to always be lost in thoughts lately and she wouldn't confide in him.

"Am alright"she said and went back to the kitchen serving the dish on the table.

When she was done,she hurriedly went to her children's room,she had gone there already immediately she woke up but she couldn't help but feel uncomfortable at the thought of losing her children.

They were still in the same position as she had left them,Li Cherry was holding unto her princess doll with a smile while Li Cola had an impassive look on his face but it was a little bit relaxed.

Feeling someone's presence in the room,Li Cola woke up at once and sat down straight.

He had thought that it was Mu Ze who had come to take revenge on him but seeing his mother, he showed a face of relief.

"Good morning mama,"he said standing up from the bed.

Minutes later,the family of four were all sitted on the chair in the dining room slowly eating their dinner in peace.

When they were all done,Mu Ze volunteer to take Li Cherry to the salon as promised,Li Cherry was ecstatic about going.

Mu Ze also invited Li Cola but the boy coldly refused him.

They left leaving Li Cola and his mother alone inside the house,Li Cola sighed and went to his room. He took out a biology textbook he had stolen when he was in the states,it was through this book that he found out that it was through the sperm of his father and ovary of his mother that he was created.

He sat on his bed and began reading the book,his door creaked open and his mother came inside with a chess board. She had a cheeky smile on her face as she heard towards him,she looked at the book he was reading and thought_her son is really boring_.

Out of the books he had,he had chosen a biology textbook.

"Mother is anything the matter?"he asked.

Li Yanshu sat on the bed and placed the chess board in-between the both of them"I decided to come and play with my son". Chess was one of Li Cola favorite game,he like how you calculate your next move and how he wins all the time.

He always beats his mom and sister everytime and they always get better each time making them a better opponent.

He closed his book and said okay,he stared as his mother arranged the chess board.

Few minutes into the game,Li Yanshu had lost twice and this was the third round. Li Cola eyes were brimming with victory as his played his next move,he watched as his mother played her own move.

This was it,after this one he would be the winner. Just as he was about to play his winning move,an undisguised mischief twinkled in his eyes as he said"Mama, let's make a bet. If i win this round, you'll tell Uncle Ze that he's short and smells like shit".

Li Yanshu narrowed her eyes and glared at her son"and if i win, you'll cook food for two weeks".

It was Li Cola turn to glare but he knows that he was going to win anyway,he played his winning move and said"i won".

Li Yanshu, however,calmly played another move countering his own move.

When Li Cola saw this, his mouth fell open. He was speechless for once in his life"how...you...how did you do it?". He couldn't comprehend how she had won, he had clearly cornered her so how did she win.

Li Yanshu cooly said"Being too cocky often leads to one downfall,you were focused on winning and didn't manage to see the one i was secretly keeping. If you hadn't gotten distracted by winning so much, you'd have seen it and managed to win. I guess playing with you had gotten me to up my game"Li Cola looked at his mother like an idol.

She planned it so well, but he wasn't going down so soon.

"Let's play again,the deal is still on"he quickly arranged the chess pieces on the board...
