CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

The level of awkwardness was beyond control,Li Yanshu released Mu Ze and walked towards Wei Ye and Mu Zhen. Most people imagination started running wild.

_is she really going to beat Wei Ye_

_Mu Zhen is quite lucky,two beautiful ladies surrounds him everyday_

_We should record this as a witness_

Few people removed their phone from their bags and started recording while some couldn't risk being caught and embarrassed.

Li Yanshu stopped right in front of Wei Ye, with a distant voice,she said"Happy birthday to you"surprise and confusion etched unto everybody's faces including Wei Ye who had expected Li Yanshu to go all out.

Ignoring the looks she was receiving,Li Yanshu added"I would have gotten a birthday gift for you but you already have it"Li Yanshu was insinuating that she had given Wei Ye Mu Zhen as a gift. She was indirectly telling them that she also wants to have nothing to do with them and vice versa.

"Shushu, it's being a long while"Wei Ye said with a smiling face after overcoming her shock,she was beyond happy hearing the hidden message behind Li Yanshu words but she does know that Mu Zhen wouldn't give up.

He had refused to get married to another woman in this five years that Li Yanshu was gone,even if Li Yanshu wants to have nothing to do with him,can she say the same for Mu Zhen who had been obsessed with her.

"Save your pleasantries to yourself,i don't need it"After saying that,Li Yanshu walked over to Mu Ze and said"can we get a seat now?"Mu Ze nodded and they went to get a seat.

Everybody eyes were following them as they walked,Mu Zhen smirked.

Did she think that those simple words would make him give up?.

He accompanied Wei Ye up the stage and then left after that,no one would believe that he shamelessly went to take a seat beside Li Yanshu making her in the midst of two men.

A current lover and an ex.

It was so thrilling to everybody watching especially the ladies who feel that they have something to talk about when they go back to their various circles.

Li Yanshu didn't even glance at Mu Zhen, treating him like air but Mu Zhen wasn't the least bothered by her nonchalance.

Nobody paid attention to Wei Ye as they watched for the next actions of Li Yanshu,"Welcome everybody to my birthday, thank you for thanking your time out of your busy schedule to come here. I won't take much of your time anymore and leave you all to enjoy yourselves till the cake cutting ceremony".

To her dismay, nobody gave recognition to what she said. She clenched her fists as she directed her gaze to one person sitted in the hall,why couldn't Li Yanshu let her have this one day of limelight.

Wei Ye was forced to leave the stage,she walked towards the trio and sat beside Mu Zhen. She waved a waiter over and collected the wine on the tray.

Everybody had one glass of wine in their hands,"Shushu,i forgot to ask about the kids. Am sorry,i got carried away by the rush of the birthday"Mu Ze spoke up.

All the guests had their ears perked up at the slightest conversation.

Kids?.

It was like Li Yanshu,Mu Ze,Mu Zhen and Wei Ye were in a reality show with the audience watching their every moves.

Li Yanshu took a sip of the wine"It's alright,i got everything taken care of"She replied. Mu Ze wasn't surprised,of course,she had done the necessary and didn't inform him.

He better get use to her unresponsive and aloof attitude.

While thinking,Mu Zhen took a napkin and wiped a stain of wine on Li Yanshu's lips. Even the cold as ice Li Yanshu was stunned for a moment before speaking"President Mu, please do restrain yourself,we don't want people misunderstanding your intentions".

Mu Zhen frowned"President Mu?"he asked displeased by how she had called him.

Li Yanshu found no wrong in it"You asked my fiance to call you as President Mu and as his fiancee, it's only right i do the same"Although what she said made sense, Mu Zhen wasn't too satisfied.

"You're different".

Li Yanshu frowned in disgust"President Mu, don't say such words again. We're not that close"her cold words pierced into his heart like a sharp blade.

Her last statement hurt the most but he knew that he had hurt her more than that,he had let his anger overtake him and had let her down.

She had treated him like a treasure back then but in return,she was disposed like a rag.

It was only right if he felt the same pain as she felt five years ago.

Ten minutes passed and nothing interesting was happening at a particular table,the interest of the people plummeted as they went back to chitchatting among themselves.

"Ah Zhen,why don't you go talk to people to create more connections for your company"Wei Ye said,out of concern. Since she was treated like she doesn't exist,so she decided to take the first step by speaking up first.

"Wei Ye, isn't there a garden nearby?"Mu Zhen asked out of the blue. Wei Ye didn't know the reason for his precipitous question but she answered affirmative.

Mu Zhen nodded and spoke no more, Wei Ye looked around scanning the hall,her eyes landed on the pair she wanted to see. She yelled enthusiastically"Luo Lin,Feng Shui, over here"The two girls who heard their names saw Wei Ye and were equally excited.

Li Yanshu who saw them concluded that Wei Ye was upto something. This two girls were people that Wei Ye never got along with in college. Infact,they were enemies, everybody knew them in the school.

They were poor people who got to school through scholarship,it was part of the reason that Wei Ye doesn't like to associate with them,the second reason was that although they were poor,they held their head high.

They never let themselves to be intimidated by bullying of other students, they were feisty and belligerent.

Seeing them now raises a lot of questions which Li Yanshu definitely won't be asking.
