Chapter 33: The War starts now

*Kusanagi Ken's Perspective*

I need to become stronger… I swung my sword again and again and again… But…what can I do? Can I fight against that priest? Would I be able to fight like Lein?

"The answer is no" I said to myself "All I can do is stop being a hindrance…"

"What are you doing early in the morning, Master?" Assassin called out. Coming from the second floor. She jumped and landed perfectly on her two feet.

"Nothing much" I answered, wiping the sweat from my body.

"Nothing much? but you are sweating like crazy?" she replied

I started to catch my breath and lay down my practice sword.

"Just a little stress reliever" I answered with vigor this time

"I see…" she replied and silence covered the area. Only the blade crashing to the wind can be heard. She stood there watching me in silence

"Do you have something to ask?" I asked her

"Hmmm?" She hummed a playful tone and asked "Do you like Haruka?"

To my surprise, I loosened the grip of my sword accidentally and it went flying into the air.

"Wha-what do you mean by that?" I asked stuttering and I purposely didn't look into her eyes

"So you like her?" she smiled showing her sharp canines as she teased me.

"It… it's not like that" I sighed and placed my hand on my neck

"Then what is it? You are blushing like really crazy right now" She went ahead and teased me more

But a sudden thought came in… "You…who are you?" I asked.

Assassin can be playful sometimes but she does not have this kind of personality in her arsenal…to be precise, it would be different.

"What do you mean, master?"

I stepped back a little and prepared to grab the sword nearby

"Why are you looking at me like that?" she asked with a grim smile

I immediately kicked the ground and tried to reach for my sword

"Whoopsies~"

The sword I was about to reach into vanished

"Wha???" I turned back to look at her

"This is a nice sword" She was holding the sword I was about to use…

I should inform Lein and the others immediately.

"Whoa there you are you won't run away~" she smiled and my knees began to weaken.

"Tch! Now what?" I fell to the ground

She smiled as she drew the sword "How should I play with you?"

"How about you let me go?" I asked

"No can do~" she replied

Figures…

As she drew closer step by step. Daggers came rushing in, it was directed at her. She dodge the daggers with ease as she stepped back.

"Whew, that was close" She wiped her forehead, acting like sweat was falling from it.

"Master! Are you all right?" Assassin asked as she guard my front

"Not exactly as you can see"

"You still have the guts to joke"

"I am just used to situations like this"

"I can't deny that one" she responded like she gave up

"So? Who is that?" I asked

"Assassin of West" she answered

I sighed "Now assassin of the west arrived?"

Our Assassin prepared her battle stance

The enemy did the same.

"Just you wait, Master. I will finish this immediately"

"You don't have to do anything" Lein's voice echoed.

"Just in time Lein" Assassin shouted

Lein was standing from the rooftop looking down at the enemy assassin.

The enemy assassin raised her head as she gaze at him. But suddenly she dropped the sword and raised her hands.

"I give up," she said

Kiya and I were shocked to hear her say that. But Lein stood there as if he expected that will happen.

"What do you mean by that???" Kiya lowered her stance and asked

"It is what it is~" she winked her eyes

"Stop doing that while you are disguised as me" Kiya shouted in a rage

"Oh! I apologize for that great madame" She bowed elegantly like a princess from the movies. "I am here to make a deal with the great one above" she said as she peek at Lein

"So a deal with me huh?" Lein responded with a serious voice

"That is correct, Monsieur!"

"I will hear you out but if its anything—"

"Don't worry Lein-sama, this deal will greatly benefit the both of us… My master that is" She changed her tone of voice and her way of speaking every time she speaks

Lein stood for a while and replied "Speak" He replied with dominance like a king on his throne…is this the true Lein? He is different than before? What happened to him?
