Chapter 43: I am sorry

He thought it was one of his business partners and recieved the call .

" Hello , This is Calcel CEO Wong cosmetics company ." Calcel said nonchantly but to his surprise there was no reply.

" Hi , Who is this ? " He asked becoming confused.

Alyssa on the other side was holding the phone tightly not knowing what to say. She was not shocked that Calcel's voice sounded sweet from the phone. She gulped before saying something.

" Hi..." Calcel said again and he was about to end the call when the voice replied.

" I am sorry. " Alyssa said in her soft voice politely and calmly trying to calm down her racing heart

Calcel was a little confused. Who was this person saying sorry all of sudden yet it was a first call. He tried to figure out whose voice it was .

" I am...this is Calcel , CEO of Wong cosmetics , May I know you ? "'He asked trying to keep calm.

"...I'm....it's... Alyssa." Alyssa managed to say in fear but she hadn't choice. This was the only way out and other wise she wouldn't survive David's scolding if he found out she had slapped his only son.

When Calcel heard it was Alyssa , He heaved a breath. He wished to end the call but no , Her voice was sweet to hear and this forced him to keep the call on though he said nothing and waited for her to talk.

" I am really sorry for being rude and slapping you earlier. " She added.

Calcel gulped not knowing what to say to her. He some what felt sorry for making her say sorry to him but he didn't know why. He tried to open his mouth to say something but Alyssa stopped him again when she said

. " Please , Will you have mercy on me and don't let your father know about what happened ? " Alyssa Asked.

Calcel was confused. Did she really expect him to tell his father about that shit ? He asked himself. He gained his confidence and cleared his throat .

" If you want forgiveness , Let's talk tomorrow . " He declared talking in his cols tone and ended the call.

After that , Calcel lied down on his bed and passed his hands through the hair. Alyssa put her phone down too and also lied in the bed.

He decided to save in her number as Alyssa.

Alyssa also did the same after call.

The next morning , The family joined to have breakfast. David was used to the silence between Calcel and Alyssa as of course he knew Calcel disliked her for being his step mother. He suddenly noticed to red patch on Calcel's cheek and looked at him with questioning eyes. Calcel noticed his father's weird look. Alyssa also did.

Calcel stopped eating and looked back at his father. " Dad , Anything wrong on my face ? " He asked eyes gawking.

Alyssa was scared hearing this. She started praying innery otherwise things were not going to be well. She gulped waiting for Calcel's answer worry proof on her face.

" I am....." Calcel stuttered looking at David and then at Alyssa's begging eyes . He looked back at his father and said.

" I...I...I accidentally slapped myself while I tried to slap a fly. " Calcel lied making David to laugh. Alyssa looked at David in worry. Did he realise that Calcel was trying to lie .

" When did my son start slapping flies ? " David asked still laughing.

" It's nothing big Dad . " Calcel said when his phone rung immediately and not to create discomfort he left the table.

David looked at Alyssa who was looking confused. " Aly ?.." He called.

" Yes sir.." Alyssa replied.

" I am going to some Island to visit one of orphanages where we are going to donate some items. " David said looking at Alyssa . She paid attention waiting fir him to complete his statement.

" I want you to come with us. Calcel will be there too. " He declared .

" I am...don't you think that Calcel is too busy for that ? " Alyssa stammered. She wondered why Calcel needed to go with them.

" No..." David said , Looked at his wrist watch and then back to Alyssa. " We are leaving at 11Am , You have one and half hours to prepare. " David said and also left the table.

Alyssa leaned onto the dinning chair and sighed. She got her phone and rung her mother to inform her that she wasn't going to be there for the day. She had just got up from her seat to leave when she saw Calcel coming back towards the dinning table. He walked passed her without a word and sat back where he had been sitting. Alyssa was too bold enough to sit back and said.

" Thanks for not telling your father . " She mumbled stealing glances from him.

" I didn't do it for you. " Calcel said in his cold voice not looking at her.

" Still , Thanks . " Alyssa buttered as watched Calcel finish his juice. She bit her lips hard waiting for his response.

After gulping down the juice , Calcel turned to look at her. " I got slapped just because I talked about your so called friend Herman , Do you think that I can do anything more ? " Calcel asked.

" Of course not. That's why I am saying sorry. I am really sorry and promise I won't do anything with Herman again. "

Alyssa blubbered and suddenly held Calcel's arms unknowingly trying to convince him that she was serious in whatever she was saying.

Calcel looked at her face and then his arms that she was holding in astonishment. Where did she get the courage to touch him from ? He had asked himself. Realising what she had just done from his questioning look, Alyssa quickly let go of his arms opening her mouth wide .

" I am..am sorry again. " She said and got up from her seat. " I will leave now. " She added and left immediately.

Calcel chuckled before taking the last sip of the juice and then left the table completely.

It was after an hour when the family was ready to leave for the Island. David was going to do this donation as the mayor of the city and this time he wanted his family to get involved in this. He used the same car with Alyssa while Calcel was driven off with Jenny and some other men who were going to help them. There was no much interaction between Alyssa and David till they were at the shore where they had to cross the water from with a ship.
