Chapter 35: Yarning hearts ( 2 )

" Drop the file and leave , I need some time alone. " Alyssa said still closing her eyes not knowing who she was talking to. She thought it was Ronny because she had asked him to give her some files as soon as the meeting was done.

Calcel smiled at her words and put the tablets on her desk.

" This will reduce on your headache ! " He said and turned to leave but Alyssa was already in shock. She had recognised his voice so she opened her eyes widely to prove it.

" Calcel ? " She called in excitement that she didn't know that she even called him in a loud tone.

Calcel turned to look at her . " What brings to here ? " Alyssa asked.

" Your ill , Aren't you ? " Calcel asked.

" Ah..ah....The...That's right. I am....I mean I wasn't feeling well back then. " Alyssa stuttered.

" So , Should I take back my tablets now ? " Calcel asked.

' If I allow him to take the tablets , He will obviously Know that I was faking. ' Alyssa thought and immediately said. " Don't take it ! I still have some headache. " She lied again.

" Iam...Fine then . I will leave now ! " Calcel said and left the office.

Alyssa immediately gave a sigh of relief. She put her hands on her chest again glad that this time her heart didn't beat for him. She smiled at herself and picked the tablets from the desk. She wasn't sick at all so there was no need of her swallowing them down so she just put them in the drawer.

Alyssa's office.

" We're you able to find the best logo ? " Alyssa asked Ronny.

" Yes , Here are four of them. " Ronny said showing Alyssa the logos from his phone. Alyssa held the phone and looked through the logos before giving it to him back.

" I like the first and the third one. " She commented.

" Do you think the CEO will like them ? " Ronny asked doubtfully.

" I hope so . " Alyssa answered.

" But there's a question I always want to ask you ! " Ronny exclaimed capturing her attention. Alyssa looked at him.

" What is it ? " She asked.

" Doesn't it really give you hard time being the CEO'S step mother ? " Ronny asked putting Alyssa in astonishment.

" I ..I..mean he's not someone easy to handle. Most of the employees here fear him. At first I used to think that you were also tough but the three days I have spent with you I realized that you are so free to everyone besides the fact that you were also a famous actress. "

Ronny spoke out.

Alyssa looked at Ronny then the desk and smiled before looking back at him.

" You can never understand a person unless you give them your time. " She stated .

" What do you mean ? " Ronny asked.

" Calcel is just a simple person. You see sometimes he looks tough because of the way of his life but in reality he's really a good person. He's kind , Intelligent and hardworking." Alyssa said these words carefully with a soft smile.

" Really ? " Ronny exclaimed.

" Yes. I can assure you about that ! " Alyssa concluded.

Calcel's office...

May came inside with a cup of coffee. " Sir , Your coffee is here ! " She said with her normal smile putting the coffee onto the desk.

" Go and ask Ms Alyssa to show me the logos they made. " Calcel commanded.

May nodded and went to call Alyssa whom she came back with. Without running around the bush , Alyssa gave Calcel the phone.

" I just got those three . " She said.

Calcel looked through them as he said to May " Go get for her coffee ! "

" But...I am already full ! " Alyssa argued stopping May from moving.

" Don't listen to her ! " Calcel said more in a cold tone that May couldn't stop but rush to get Alyssa's coffee.

" Do you like the logos ? " Alyssa finally asked.

" Yes.. They are actually better than I have ever thought. " Calcel spoke bringing happiness in Alyssa's heart. She gave a wide smile making her more cute that Calcel didn't miss glaring.

" So which one should we go with ? " She asked freely.

" I think the first one. " He said nonchalantly giving her back the phone.

May came back with the other cup of coffee and put it on the desk near Alyssa before leaving the office.

Alyssa took a sip of the coffee and asked. " What else do we have to discuss ? " She asked.

" We need to advertise the product ! " Calcel said but before Alyssa replied his phone rung.

" Excuse me ! " He mumbled and got up and receive the call. Alyssa nodded and continued taking her coffee but whatever Calcel recieved from the call wasn't good. His expression suddenly changed making him end the call in anger.

He moved back to the desk and gave it a hard kick in much anger but unfortunately he forgot that there were two cups of coffee on the desk. As soon the desk was kicked , Alyssa's coffee cup lost balance and fell to floor breaking into many pieces and the hot coffee all poured on Alyssa.

" Ouch !!!! " Alyssa groaned in much pain. The coffee was really too hot.

May whose office was just near Calcel's heard the noise of the breaking cup pieces and Alyssa's groan so she hurried to the office.

Realising what Calcel just did he hurried to where Alyssa was seated.

" Are you alright ? " He asked in panic.

Alyssa shook her head in pain with her lips pressed hard. She had wore a red short tight skirt so when she sat down part of her thighs were exposed and to make it worse , The coffee poured all over them.

Without waiting for any reaction , Calcel scooped Alyssa from the table and lifted her carrying her. She clung her hands around his neck for support. At the same time , May had also opened the door of the office and she was welcome but this scene.

Calcel was carrying Alyssa ...No , He was carrying his step mother in his arms . What was really happening between those two ? She asked herself again remembering the posture she found them in at the party.
