Mine Field

A full moon had to be out in order for Ban to escape. The flames weren't bright enough to see the shadow of the guards, and he wasn't quick enough to outrun the dogs.

The thing about the Verdant Gloria Sect was they tended to worship the moon. Girls could be heard flirting with the members of the sect as they playfully celebrated with mirth and laughter. The publicity department called this time of the month the awakening ceremony for the recruits. Really the only thing this ceremony ended with was the moans of the girls they brought in from the village.

Ban could hear girls bodies slamming against the cold, broken wobbly frames. He'd seen shadows of the 'awakening ceremony' as the doctors normally used the sick wards to finish off the night. The familiar banging and begging and shadows of lust were his only solace at the moment. He rushed towards the fence and pushed aside the wire.

The fence wasn't well maintained and had loose bottoms with barb wire falling off the top. The Vile Cultivators wanted the 'sect' members to think they'd escape if they made it past the fence. They wanted the kids to try and escape so they reason to hunt them when they did, and some doctors even bragged about beating their friends to chopping off a young sect members head.

Ban didn't want to lose his head and cultivated to the first drop of the blood mantra. He made sure his legs were nimble enough to run over twenty miles an hour. The guards usually took an hour to finish their girl of the night, and the other guards usually chose to go torture some of the sleeping girls that were paralyzed.

These girls were extremely lucky the publicity team told the world, but only the ones that had special blood types were left alone. The men who had tastes for young women enjoyed these girls the most as they delighted in the slight expressions on their faces.

Ban could see those faces as he tripped on a stump and slid with his nose against a mine. He looked in front of him at the device blinking with a red light in front of him. He'd only tripped the testing sensor because his nose was about as light as the touch of a finger.

This just made everything more complicated. How was he supposed to run as long as it took a man to enjoy a girl when mines were in the perimeter. He began to sweat as he pushed himself off the floor as a girls stentorian branished through the woods.

The birds flew into the air as Ban screamed on the inside and chose to run to his right.

He began to feel insane as he tried to repress the things he'd seen the doctors shadows to do some of the patients. The twenty year old ceremony was the hardest to watch. They put the patients on life support and took out their organs while they were still alive to preserve freshness.

They got so good at it, and always went last for the heart. He promised to make sure the first thing he did was take out their heart!

Ban ran right through the mind field and ignored the feeling of wanting to stop as he ran a complicated pattern. The men who set up the mines probably didn't think carefully about where they put them. If he ran in a few feet from where the first mine was placed, he should be able to avoid running into another one. At least, that's what he hoped...

He needed to get out of here!

He needed to satisfy his thirst for blood!

He spent an hour running before he smiled and tossed a rock at the fence. A lightning current traveled along the second fence as he looked down the city that wreaked off blood.

Grand City.

The place partially owned by the Verdant Gloria Sect, and the place where his father and mother had died. He stepped back, and leaped into the air, landing with one foot on the fence as a bolt of 5000 bolts surged through his leather soles.

He stole the shoes from underneath the Blood Mill the first day he arrived, and was glad it worked as he somersaulted to the other side. With little to greet him but a steep drop, he latched his hands onto the side of the mountain and tried to grab hold.

The Verdant Gloria Sect put the fence right on the edge of a mountain so at night escapees who made it this far would fall to their death. Ban planned on this and already put six nails through his fingers so he could hammer himself into the wall.

He would use this to climb down the rock, and after he was done he made it to the city with blood dripping down his cheek. Suddenly, an urge he didn't expect came to him as a young women passed by him.

"What happened to your hand? Are you okay?" The girl frantically tried to help Ban as his eyes began to shimmer with killing intent... "Are you okay? Let me call you an ambulance..."

"You can't know... You can't know I'm alive..."

"What?" The girl stepped back nervously before she turned left and right and left again hoping someone was on the street... "Why? Is someone after you..."

"Death... Death is after me... You're in the way..." Ban's hand blurred into the woman's chest as she looked down at blood dripping down her blouse. She wasn't expecting that, and either was Ban. However, he needed to get cleaned up before he integrated into society. He couldn't be the famous Ban, and had to be a normal guy until the day of his revenge...

"Why? Why... sweetie? I tried to help you..."

"Tell me where you live..." Ban said as he grabbed her heart... "Tell me and I'll stitch you back up... Don't tell me, and your heart is mine..."

"I... I live in that alley..." Blood dripped down the girls mouth as she somehow managed to point in the right direction... "Please... I won't tell anyone... I'm good at keeping secrets..."
