Eudoxia is an alien from outer planet but a war broke out in her planet and her mom had to put her in a spaceship that took her to an unknown planet- planet Earth. Arriving in this new world, everything looked so different. How was she going to adapt to this new world of hers? Is she the only alien on earth? Is it okay to fall in love with humans? Will she ever be able to get back to her home and restore peace?
Looking at the area, Eudoxia felt there was something different about the place.
"young lady". Lucy called. She moved closer to her.
Eudoxia turned to look at the lady. She could tell the resemblance between her and the other creature she was with. "Are you his son?". she asked in Greek language but Lucy didn't seem to understand her but that wasn't her concern; getting her some clothes and shoes and helping her find her parents were her concern.
"Where are your parents?". Lucy asked. Eudoxia turned her head to see if she could understand what the other creature that looks so much like the first was saying but she didn't understand. After asking the questions for so long and no reply was coming, Lucy concluded on the theory that the girl in front of her didn't understand English. "I guess you can't speak English". she said.
Eudoxia ignored her. She tried to walk away but Lucy grabbed her hand which made Eudoxia really angry and with just one push, Lucy flew falling few metres away from her to the ground.
Damian came out of his hiding and ran to meet his mother. "Mom, are you OK?".He asked. Lucy nodded as her son helped her up. "I told you not to. Look at what she did to my phone". Damian said showing his mom evidence that the girl is weird and dangerous.
"I can handle this. It's my job to take care of the homeless. I can't ignore my job". Lucy said.
Lucy Hagins has been working in the Childcare center for five years after her husband died eight years ago.
"But mom...". Damian tried to convince her but his mother was determined to do this.
"If I can't do this, then I don't deserve to be called a mother". She said as Damian allowed her to do whatever she wants. He stood behind watching the scene.
Lucy breathed out before trying again. She moved close to her. " I know you cannot understand what I'm saying but believe I'm not a bad person". She said. Her voice was calm and smooth. Eudoxia had to turn to listen to that voice. Despite the fact she didn't understand what she was saying, she could tell this creature was worried about her. There was something similar about the way her voice sounded but she couldn't tell what.
"Please let me help you. I want you to trust me". Lucy said stretching out one of her hand.
Eudoxia's didn't know why but she placed her hand on the other creature's hand as she watched the other creature taking her inside.
Damian couldn't believe his eyes. He quickly followed them inside staying far away from her not wanting to find out what part of his body she's going to destroy.
"You need to put this on". Lucy told her stretching the clothes to her but Eudoxia just stood there looking at the stuffs in the other creatures hand.
"I don't think she understands mom". Damian said folding his arms.
Lucy turned to face Damian giving him a stern look. "And what are you doing here? You shouldn't be here while she's changing. Get out!". Lucy told him.
"With pleasure. What's there to see anyway?". He said as he left the house waiting outside the front door.
"Now that you came into my house, I can say you trust me. I'm going to help put this on you and later we will discuss during dinner". She said as Eudoxia stood with her eyes focused on the creature.
Lucy tried to touch her but Eudoxia was ready to throw another fit. Lucy quickly gave a gesture telling her not to and it seemed she understood because she became calm as she allowed Lucy do whatever she wanted to do. Although it wasn't easy to get her to wear the clothes, Lucy was glad she did.
Eudoxia looked at what she was wearing. It looked like nothing like their planet. Lucy saw her looking at the clothes so she decided to bring the mirror to help her see herself better. "Why don't you use this instead?". Lucy said placing the mirror in front of her.
Eudoxia looked into the mirror and saw her reflection. She quickly hid her face thinking the mirror was an item used to communicate with each other in her planet.
Lucy smiled. "Just look at it". She said as she took away her hand from her face.
She gave the mirror another glance, shocked at the sight she saw. This didn't look like her. Her hair, her face, everything was different except the color of her eyes and the blue color of her hair. She was breathing so fast and with rage, she took the mirror and threw it against the wall, smashing the mirror into shreds.
Damian hearing the sound quickly rushed in to make sure his mom was out of harm's way. He glanced at the girl who finally had clothes on and he could tell she looked really beautiful. The color of her eyes were just something really remarkable.
Lucy was going to meet her when Damian stopped his mother. "Wait here!". He said as he looked at the girl. "I'll do it".
His mother looked at him trying to see if he was being serious. Damian nodded. He took a breath before going to meet her then he remembered something. She was speaking in a weird language maybe having a translator can help them understand her. "Mom, can I have your phone?". He asked. His mother quickly handed him the phone.
Damian searched through the net for a translator and when he got one, he moved close to her.
"Where am I?". Eudoxia said in Greek. The translator helped him translate what she was saying and the language she was speaking. He replied 'Earth' to the translator and the translator replied 'Earth' in Greek.
When Eudoxia heard she was on Earth from whatever source she heard it from, she looked around. This wasn't where she was supposed to be.
Damian used that chance of her silence to ask the translator how do you say 'what is your name in Greek?". The voice translator replied, asking Eudoxia the question.
She was about to say something but nothing came out. "Eudoxia". She said.
"Where are you from? What about your parents?". Damian asked the translator in English and the voice translator translated it to Greek. Eudoxia understood so she answered in Greek. "I'm from Planet Oris. My dad died when I was little but my mom...I don't know". She replied in Greek and the translator translated it to English making it audible for Lucy to hear.
When she landed on Earth, part of her memories disappeared while part of it remained with her.
Lucy came closer as she watched the girl standing in front of her. "What are we going to do?". Damian asked.
"Keep her here till she regains her memory". Lucy said as Damian looked at her.
"Are you serious about this mom?".Damian asked. "Besides, did you hear where she said she came from?".
"Planet Oris". His mom said. "I think she must have hit her head on something".
"So why are we keeping her here?".he asked his mom.
"Well tell me son, do you have a better idea?".Lucy asked.
"And where the hell is she going to stay when I go to school or when you go to work?". Damian asked.
Lucy didn't really think of all that. After few minutes of thinking, an idea came to her head. "She stays here until we make her school papers. Then when you go to school, she goes with you".
"You say what?". Damian asked looking at the girl from head to toe.
"First, she needs a new name. Calling her Eudoxia is weird and people might start to suspect". Lucy said ignoring the dilemma she knows her son is going to be in as she thought of a name.
"How about Madass?". Damian suggested as his mother gave him a shut-up- look. "What about Xia then? It's a short form for her name".
"Well, that's a lot better than madass or whatever it is you gave her the first time". Lucy said. "Tell her our names and tell her what her name will be and also show her to her room". Lucy was on her way to the kitchen. "Use the translator thing to do your thing... I'm off to prepare dinner".
Damian stood there pretending not to hear what his mom said. His mom noticing he didn't move neither did he say a word turn back to look at him. "Did you hear what I just said?". Lucy asked.
Damian groaned as he went to do as his mom commanded. It was really hard for Eudoxia who is now Xia to pronounce the names but after much effort, she got it. She also followed Damian as he showed her the room she would be staying. Everything he said and every word she said were understood easily by the help of the translator. There were some items in the room that looked strange to her.
She moved closer to the bed, pressing it and looking back at Damian. "Please don't tell me you don't know what that is". He said forgetting the translator was still on, the translator translated those words in Greek and since Eudoxia understood, she shook her head.
Damian was getting frustrated by the minute. His head were starting to hurt and his saliva was starting to dry up from talking too much. Damian scattered his hair as he began his tutorial, explaining each and everything with the help of the translator. "Is this how frustrating my life is going to be with her around?". He asked himself as he continued with the explanation.
The greatest thing about Aliens are their ability to easily understand information and they adapt pretty well. We call them High-level-creatures.
Having Eudoxia at home might not be as frustrating as he thinks who knows, it might be something contrary to that.
