Three

Eudoxia got really accustomed to everything in her room. The bed, chairs, the dressing table, the toilet and the bathroom. She decided to try out the bathroom first. She stood inside the bath tub as she turn on the shower. As soon as the cold water touched her skin, she shouted, jumping out of the bath tub naked.

Damian heard her scream and quickly ran into her room. When he entered, the sight he saw, made him laugh. She was sitting on her bed using her hand to try to cover her body but the only part she could cover were her breast. He stood there for few minutes laughing.

Damian's mother came inside too because she heard her scream. "Is everything ok?". She asked but Damian couldn't reply. He was still standing there laughing.

Lucy ignored him and went to meet Eudoxia, pulling her close to herself. "Oh my God! You're shivering". She said as she got towel to dry off the water on her skin.

"I thought Aliens don't feel cold". Damian said laughing.

His mom looked at him and the moment his eyes met with his mom's, he kept quiet although it wasn't easy to hold back his laughter.

"Did you explain everything to her? How to use the shower for instance?". His mom asked.

"I told her how to use the bathroom and what the bathroom is meant for". Damian said.

"Did you explain the shower to her?". His mom asked again.

"I think I did. I mean that's why she was able to turn it on in the first place".

Eudoxia didn't really understand what they were talking about. She heard them saying something about the shower and bathroom but she didn't understand.

"Get her some of your clothes". His mom said as she tried to help the poor girl into the bathroom but Eudoxia was too scared to go in not after the first experience.

"All my clothes are dirty". Damian lied folding his arms ignoring the stern look his mother was giving to him.

"Don't make me go into your room and bring those clothes myself". His mom said. Damian understood what she meant so he quickly ran into his room and brought a blue sweatshirt and black trouser for her.

There was a time his mom told him to borrow her some money but he said he didn't have any. When she searched his room, she found his safe box and took all the money. "That's what you get for lying or being selfish". His mom told him and since then he feared that part of her.

"It's not going to hurt this time, I promise". Lucy said as she gestured Eudoxia to come inside. She got into the bath tub after much convincing and pleading. Lucy helped her to put on the warm water. When the warm water touched her skin, Eudoxia felt so relaxed. Lucy decided to leave her alone to enjoy herself then she went to face her son.

Damian knew he was up for parental teachings the moment he saw his mom walking towards him with a stern look. Before his mom could say anything, he quickly pleaded with her. "It won't happen again".

"To make sure it doesn't, we are going shopping tomorrow". His mom said

"We?? Who are the 'we'?". He asked.

"The three of us. Besides we need to get new clothes, shoes and maybe contact lenses for Xia". his mom said as he grumbled.

"But I have school tomorrow". He said trying to run away from the task.

"Don't you skip schools to attend to important stuffs? Well this is important and we're not going to debate on this issue". His mom said walking out of the room.

"Who's going to teach her how to put the clothes on?".he asked as his mom turned to look at him shaking her head.

"Leave". Damian left the room while his mom waited for Eudoxia to finish bathing.

Eudoxia was still inside the bath tub enjoying the drops of the warm water on her skin. Just as she was about to get out of the water, she felt something. She could tell something bad was going to happen. She jumped right out of the bath tub, wore her new set of clothes as Lucy demonstrated then she went straight to the parlour.

Lucy followed right behind her to make sure she wasn't going to do anything stupid. Eudoxia looked around the parlour and then she saw what the danger was.

She ran and pulled Damian out of the way as the pot lid flew away from the pot coming towards Damian's direction but she used her hand to shove it as the pot lid fell to the ground..

"Oh my God! I totally forgot". Lucy said as she quickly went to get water to put off the fire. She was preparing dinner when she heard the scream, she forgot to switch off the gas and now the food she was preparing is burnt.

Eudoxia went to meet Damian who was breathing really heavily. "Are you ok?". She asked in Greek. Even though Damian didn't understand, he nodded his head. Only God knows what would have happened to him if she didn't come on time. Who knows, it might be his head on the ground.

"Thank you. I owe you". Damian said looking at her. None of them understood what they were saying but somehow they felt they understood what they were saying.

"I won't be making dinner tonight. I have to get this fixed first thing tomorrow morning". Lucy said as she looked at the messy kitchen.

"Why don't I order us some pizza for the night?". Damian said as his mother agreed. Damian ordered the pepperoni pizza which arrived just in time.

Everyone sat down to eat, Damian took a piece of the pizza and so did his mom. Eudoxia watched them both as she also took a piece of the pizza and put it in her mouth. The moment the pizza touched her tongue, she froze for few seconds. Damian noticed that she didn't move and he looked at her wondering if something had happened to her. "Xia, are you ok?". He asked.

Eudoxia ignored his question as she quickly ate the pizza in her hand and took another one. Within thirty seconds, she had finished eating the second one before she tried to take the third one, Damian quickly picked up the pizza as he raised one hand telling her to wait. "I'm going to have to share it because the rate in which you're eating is getting me scared". Damian said as his mother laughed.

But Eudoxia wasn't ready to let him share anything. She stood up. Lucy couldn't stop herself from laughing. She didn't know when last she had felt this amount of joy. Ever since she lost her husband, her job and her son were the only thing giving her joy but this right now was a greater joy she never thought she'd experience.

"Son, I think it's better you let her have it". She said as Damian shook his head.

"Not on my watch".Damian looked at Xia and immediately his eyes met hers, he froze with the pizza in his hand. Xia was happy she had succeeded.

She took the pizza from him and ate till she was satisfied. After eating to her satisfaction, she unfreeze him.

Damian knew what happened because he had experienced the same thing few moments ago. He looked at the pizza and there was just one remaining. He looked at his mom but his mom was trying so hard not to laugh but his expression made his mother burst into laughter. "I told you to leave it for her but you refused". Lucy said as she got up and went to her room.

Damian and Xia sat there glaring at each other. "I guess I know what those blue eyes of yours are used for". He said as he took the last pizza and went to his room.

Eudoxia didn't go to sleep. She knew she had something to do first.

If she wants to quickly adapt to this new life of hers, she has to learn everything she can.
