Four

Xia decided it was time to get accustomed to everything on earth. After everyone had gone to sleep, she went outside. Staring at the sky and the beautiful shinning stars with a dull moon. She glanced at the sky for a long period of time. She closed her eyes as she took into the calmness of the night.

Xia has the power to learn things as fast as possible although she didn't use those powers in her home because everyone was the same maybe not everyone but right now is the time she needed to use that power.

Closing her eyes made her go back to the early centuries, making her observe the creation of things; how airplanes were made, computers, phones and many other gadgets. She also observed the different languages - Spanish, French, Korean, English etc. Within those few moments of observation, her intellect increased but she needed to rest so that everything she had observed would be part of her.

Opening her eyes to the world around her, she took a deep breath. She has absolutely no idea what this world has installed for her but whatever life throws at her, she was ready to accept.

She turned back to go into the house when she bumped her head on something or 'someone. "Damien, what the fuck are you doing here? Shouldn't you be asleep or something?". She asked him touching her head where it hurts.

Damien eyes widened in shock, he couldn't believe his ears. He actually understood what she said. How is that possible? Just few moments ago she couldn't but now she's perfect.

"I um...wasn't sleeping well I couldn't sleep". Damien replied trying to see if she will understand him.

"Oh I see". Xia replied. Suddenly, her head started aching her not because she bumped her head on Damien's but because of something else.

Damien noticed she wasn't really herself as he was about asking her what was wrong, she fainted. He didn't understand whether to panic or just stay quiet but he did the one thing he could think of. He took her to his room because that way he'd be able to watch over her and he didn't want his mom to freak out.

He placed her on his bed as he glanced at her. How was he suppose to know how to treat an alien who is unconscious?

He called his best friend-Alvin who works with him in the convenience store besides he is more experience than he is.

"Yo! What's up? Don't tell me yo is missing your nigga?".Alvin said on the other side of the phone.

"Dude chillax, where you at?".

"I'm home. What's wrong? Did Theresa break up with you? I told you dude, that girl ain't real".

"shut up and listen to me, what do you think I can do to a... ". Damien paused as he glanced at Xia."... Friend who's unconscious". He said not wanting to tell his friend more than that.

"A friend? You did a sleep over party without letting me know?".

What kind of dude is this? Damien asked himself trying not to cuss at Alvin. "You know I feel like you're high on drugs. I don't even know why I called you. I'm hanging up now".

Alvin laughed. "sorry yo. So what happened to this friend of yours?".

"I don't know... She was fine and then the next thing she fainted".

"well, maybe she's stressed out and she needs to rest or she over used her strength or something? Or maybe she did something she's not supposed to and it had a huge effect on her but what she needs now is some rest". Alvin explained.

Damien looked at Xia once again wondering why she was outside in the first place and what was she even doing? And now she speaks English... How's that even possible?.

"Yo man! Are you sleeping?".

"No. Thanks so much".

"See you at school then". Alvin said.

"I'll be skipping school tomorrow morning. I have something to do". He said his eyes not leaving her. "I've got go bye". Damien quickly hang up because he knew Alvin will persuade him to tell the truth.

Damien dropped his phone as he sat next to Xia on the bed. He couldn't believe his eyes that an alien was right here beside him. Who would have even thought that?

He touched her hair as he felt the texture of her hair. He has never felt a hair so soft and glimmering. He removed his hand from her hair and some blue shinning light particles rested on his palm but they quickly disappeared.

He can't wait to start conversing with her but what if she wakes up and the whole thing just go back to normal. What is going to happen then?

He pleaded with the universe to make this permanent.

Xia moaned softly as she turned only to find Damien beside her. Her eyes were become dimmer and they couldn't stay open. "you can't sleep?". She asked in a cool soft voice that made his heart skip a beat. She waited a little for his response but he said nothing just staring into those eyes of hers not caring if she would freeze him with those eyes. "I can help you with your insomnia" she said. "do you trust me?". She asked.

Damien was really happy the universe listened to his prayers. He nodded because he really needed to fall asleep so he can get ready for the big day tomorrow.

"I want you to look into my eyes". She said as she stood up, pushing Damien on the bed.

"So I can get frozen again?". He asked as Xia smiled.

"I promise not to freeze you. You trust me right?". She stood in front of him as she bent down to meet his eyes. "Look into my eyes Damien". She said as Damien tried so hard to avoid her eyes. Maybe he didn't trust her after all.

Xia saw that he was scared so she held his face and turned it softly so he can meet her eyes and the moment his eyes met hers, he was lost in those crystal blue eyes. Xia moved closer to him, her lips were an inch away from his, her eyes never left his and immediately she blew an air into his mouth. The air was visible with crystal blue tiny bubbles floating and going straight into his mouth.

Drawn by those bubbles, Damien's eyes slowly closes making his lips meet those of Xia's as his head fell on her shoulders. She could feel an electrifying spark but she didn't understand what it was. Xia helped him by placing his head gently on the pillow, straightening his legs on the bed. When he wakes up tomorrow, he won't remember a single thing which of course is a good thing.

Xia left his room as she went to her room thinking of how this new experience of hers would change her world forever.
